Starting September 2015, Macy’s went live with a
branded Nineteenth Amendment landing page
and Impulse link sending customers off-site for the
full Nineteenth Amendment experience with
curated designers. Online shoppers from Macy’s

users. The experience was aspirational - Macy’s
customers that visited Nineteenth Amendment
from Macy’s and returned to Macys.com spent
56% more on average than a customer who did
not have a Nineteenth Amendment experience.
Macy’s gained a new millennial, female shopper
base from the affiliate partnership.
16. Macy’s In-Store
Trunk Show
Two day February Fashion Week Trunk Show
During New York Fashion Week (NYFW) February
2015, Nineteenth Amendment hosted the first
public, shoppable fashion week event at Macy’s
Herald Square in New York City. The event
attracted over 1400 millennial shoppers, was
featured in the Sunday New York Times Arts
section, and given a 34th street level window at
Macy’s Herald Square. The public and press were
invited to preview four Nineteenth Amendment
designers’ collections, meet the designers, and
purchase a piece of fashion history to be made
just for them. Terry Lundgren, CEO of Macy’s Inc.
gave an opening welcome to kick off the event.

17. Lord & Taylor
Trunk Show
Voting-themed evening of Fashion, #forfashion
Just in time for the 2016 presidential election, over
200 shoppers gathered on the top floor of Lord &
Taylor on iconic 5th Avenue to cast their vote for
the future of fashion. Shoppers were invited to
vote with their wallet and cast a ballot to help one
designer win a one-on-one with Marie Claire
Creative Director, Project Runway Judge, and
Nineteenth Amendment advisor Nina Garcia. Eight
designers from around the world showed their
collections which were available for pre-purchase
and engage with shoppers. Press from Vice, Vogue,
Marie Claire, InStyle, Global Gal Magazine,
Sourcing Journal, WWD, and The Observer
attended.
18. Stiletto-Strapping
As most success stories do, ours started with luck and a lot of ambition - in the form of a
craigslist ad. Amanda answered a posting for a fashion designer and found herself at the helm of
an emerging brand that she brought all the way to London Fashion Week in its first season. But,
as young brands do with no cash or scalable manufacturing, the label was dead before it started.
Burnt-out as a designer, Amanda met cofounder Gemma during a tech incubator at the Harvard
iLab during the summer of 2012. Amanda and Gemma worked on the concept part-time,
stiletto-strapping the entire business with under $10k that they won from a national
entrepreneurship competition sponsored by a vodka brand (another story of luck & ambition).
While working in venture capital, Gemma recruited Chris, a full-stack web developer who also
organized fashion shows. The scrappy, over-achievers have been together forging a path of
fashionable disruption ever since, launching officially in 2014 at the New York Fashion Tech Lab.
