The Ecological Built Environment Research and Enterprise (EBERE) Group conducts both theoretical and applied research related to reducing carbon dioxide emissions from buildings. Theoretical research involves posing hypotheses, while applied research involves testing those hypotheses with real-world applications. The Low Carbon Built Environment Project brings together academics and industry to reduce emissions from the built environment through six work packages, including post-occupancy evaluations of low-carbon buildings and monitoring the thermal performance of retrofitted homes. The Doctor of Ecological Building Practices professional doctorate allows students to explore, develop, test, and evaluate practices related to environmental issues in the built environment.
