The club became a fan trust in July 2009 and has over 33,000 members from over 30 countries. It supports the club through various community events, donations to charities, and campaigns on issues affecting the club and community. The trust has pledged £50 million to support a fan-led buyout of the club and has received political and business support for its efforts. It also supports and promotes local talent through various fan publications and online communities.
