NEW YORK
• The Statue of Liberty represents a
high feminine figure with a torch in
a hand and a tablet in other one.
The tablet has a date in her, JULY IV
MDCCLXXVI (4-7-1726), which it
represents the date of the signing of
the Declaration of Independence of
the United States, of England. It has
chains in the feet and there are
seven tops in the crown of the
statue, which they symbolize seven
continents and seven seas of the
world. The statue measures in 305
feet (92,96 m) from the top part of
the torch up to coming to the soil,
this measure considers the base on
which the statue is, as well as his
pedestal.
 Times Square is a major commercial
intersection and a neighborhood in Midtown
Manhattan, New York City, at the junction of
Broadway (now converted into a pedestrian
plaza) and Seventh Avenue and stretching from
West 42nd to West 47th Streets.
 Times Square – iconified as "The Crossroads of
the World", "The Center of the Universe", and
the "The Great White Way" – is the brightly
illuminated hub of the Broadway Theater
District, one of the world's busiest pedestrian
intersections, and a major center of the world's
entertainment industry.
 Times Square is the world's most visited tourist
attraction, hosting over 39 million visitors
annually. Approximately a third of a million
people pass through Times Square daily, many
of whom are either tourists or people working
in the area.
Central Park is the biggest urban park of
New York and one of the biggest the
world. It measures more than 4
kilometres of length and 800 meters of
width.
In 340 hectares that Central Park occupies
you will find meadows, artificial
lakes, waterfalls and zones that look
like an authentic forest. Inside the own
park also one finds the Zoo of Central
Park and other attractions.
Beside being the principal lung of
Manhattan, this park is one of the
places preferred by the New Yorkers to
walk, to sunbathe or to play sports. As
curiosity, it is surprising to see many
people running pushing the baby's
carts.
Visualized in the cinema in innumerable
occasions, the Bridge of Brooklyn has
turned into one of the most famous
bridges of the world. Movies as
Manhattan, Saturday Night Fever, Godzilla
or Deep Impact have filmed in this
architectural work of the 19th century.
At the end of construction in 1883, the bridge
became the longest suspension bridge in
the world, with a distance between its
supports of almost 500 meters. The
construction lasted 13 years and have
died 27 people during construction. The
total length of the bridge is 1,825 meters.
If you cross the Bridge of Brooklyn during the
night you will have one of the images
most typical of New York, that of the
illuminated buildings of Manhattan
Wall Street is the principal street of the
financial district of New York. The most
important buildings of the zone are: The
Stock Exchange , constructed at the
beginning of the 20th century though of
classic
aspect,
and
the
Federal
Hall, constructed at the end of the 18th
century in Neogothic style.
The name of this street comes from the 17th
century, when it was constituting the north
limit of New Amsterdam, and where the
Dutches constructed, in 1652, one wall to
defend itself from the assaults, which it
was knocked down by the Britishers in
1699.

Nowadays, though the wall does not exist, the
name still lasts.
The Empire State Building has been the highest
building of the world from 1931 until 1972.
Nowadays, after the fall of the Twin Towers, it is
the highest building of New York and it will
continue being up to the ending of the
future Tower of the Freedom.
The Empire State has 102 plants and a height of
381 meters (443 meters if we count its
antenna spire).
The building was constructed in record
time, only 410 days happened from the
beginning of his construction up to his
inauguration.
In the construction, in full crisis of 29, there
worked more than 3000 workers who made
possible that 4 plants and a half were
constructed for week.
The High Line is a 1-mile (1.6 km) New York
City linear park built on a 1.45-mile
(2.33 km) section of the elevated
former New York Central Railroad spur
called the West Side Line, which runs
along the lower west side of
Manhattan; it has been redesigned and
planted as an aerial greenway.
If you take a walk in it, the High Line park is
plenty of banks to sit down or to lie
down, being a place that has acquired
importance at the moment of
sunbathing in summer.
The equipment of design at the head of
the project is James Corner Field
Operations and his first phase was
inaugurated on June 9, 2009.
The design of the cathedral was trying to be that
of a great temple with two towers of more
than 100 meters of height that were raising
triumphant on the city, something that was
achieved during a little time. Nowadays the
cathedral presents a humbler aspect if we
compare it with the investor Rockefeller
Center, placed opposite her.
San Patrick's Cathedral is made in white
marble, with the overloaded typical aspect of
the Neogothic style. This is something that
turns it into a very special building, especially
if we compare it with the quadrangular
buildings that surround it.
Once inside it, it is worth emphasizing the
enormous organs composed by 3.920 and
5.918 pipes, and the sculpture of The Pietà is
three times bigger than that of Michelangelo
placed in Saint Peter’s Basilica, in the Vatican.
The Madison Square Garden, commonly known
as The Garden, is the most important sports
stadium of New York. Colloquial it is known as
“The most famous coliseum of the world ".
It is home to the New York Rangers of the
National Hockey League and the New York
Knicks of the National Basketball Association.

With five floors and a capacity of over 20,000
people, Madison Square Garden is a great
well known for all boxing fans.
During decades the MSG it was the Mecca of the
Boxing and in his ring there fought men like
Muhammad Ali, Rocky Marciano, Joe Fraziero
or Mike Tyson. Nowadays, though there
continue being combats of boxing, most of
the important clashes is celebrated in Las
Vegas in hotels as the MGM Grand.
