This powerpoint contextualizes the importance of narration and description through their relationship to rhetoric and identity. Argumentation and rhetorical analysis are described as heuristics for rhetoric. Slides on rhetorical analysis link such inquiry to self-reflection and the visualization of opportunities to connect to audiences, as well as invites occasions for argumentation. Lecture notes, discussion questions, free-writing exercises, and collaborative workshop activities enable students to sharpen their narration/description skills.
