Neil Armstrong was the first person to walk on the moon. He was born in 1930 in Ohio and served in the Korean War in 1950. Armstrong died in 2012 and was awarded many honors for his service including the Congressional Space Medal of Honor and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He was married and had two children.
