The project aims to train agricultural extension agents in Ethiopia on weather and climate information to help farmers. Key objectives are to support the National Meteorological Agency in training experts to provide practical agro-meteorological knowledge and services to improve farming practices. Key activities include institutionalizing information sharing between the agency and extension services, training trainers, seminars in different regions, distributing rain gauges and farmer training, evaluation, and experience sharing. Expected outcomes are strengthened links between sectors for weather services, raised awareness of extensions services, and improved risk management guidance for farmers.
