 The Narwhal lives in the Arctic where it is cold year round and
its one of the toughest places for anything to live. It has a
thick layer of blubber around its body to protect it from the
cold. For them to the communicate through icy water they
make high pitched clicking sounds. They can hold there
breath up to 20 minutes underwater to stay hidden from
predators. It has a very flexible neck so it can capture prey
faster. There tusks have at least 10 million nerves in them and
scientists think they use it to measure thickness of the ice,
temperature, pressure, to make holes in ice, and
reproduction. They can survive 3 hours a day 800 meters
deep where there’s a lot of pressure.
 The Narwhals oldest extinct
                                    Kingdom- Animalia
anscestor is a group of hooved
                                    Phylum- Chordata
animals called the Mesonychids Class- Mammalia
that evolved into 4 legged whales Order- Cetacea
                                    Suborder-Odontoceti
and into the Narwhal and Beluga
                                    Family-Monodontidae
today. Genus-Monodon
                                    Species- M.monoceros
 The Narwhal is the only whale that doesn’t
  have a dorsal fin.
 They can grow up to be the size of a bus
