Vulcanodon was a relatively small, early sauropod dinosaur from the Early Jurassic period in southern Africa. It was about 20 feet long, walked on four sturdy legs, and was a long-necked, long-tailed plant eater. Some fossils of Vulcanodon have been found in Zimbabwe, Africa, and it may have belonged to the genus Deuterosauropodopus based on fossil footprints found in South Africa. Vulcanodon was classified as a sauropod dinosaur in the order Saurischia.
