The Power Of Change In Blood Wedding By Federico Lorca
Blood Wedding was written during a time of civil and political turmoil in Spain. Federico Lorca, the
author of Blood Wedding, was one of many individuals divided over whether the people should have
the oppression of the traditional ruling government or to have a new individually based era reign over
Spain. Being a homosexual male inside such difficult times, Lorca was in favor for change. He wrote
this play using a real life event that he read in the newspaper about a bride that ran away with the son
of an enemy family. The events he read and the events in the play are a time capsule of the emotions
distributed by both those for and those against change in Spain. Lorca s use of lyrical phrasing and
supernatural phenomena masks the true ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Act Two when Mother states: As bull s go, my son will be a good worker. (39). She is personifying
the need of war. The Spanish government remained willing to fight for what the predecessors of Spain
created which is the same as Groom willing to work hard to please Bride s father and his mother. ...I
would have kept that blood soaked dirt in a chalice of glass and topaz (39) . Groom, the embodiment
of the traditional Republican government, was deeply affected by the death of his father and brother,
however this represents the weakening of the Spanish government due to the civil disputes within it.
The use of bulls and blood are used to symbolize war. The Fascist leaders of Italy aided in the Spanish
Civil War, they urged the Republican Government to wage war to prevent further uprisings by the
Rebels, which were the individuals fighting for freedom ( The Spanish Civil War ). Groom and
Mother s relationship is used by Lorca to portray how he views the traditional Spanish government
and how it is being influenced by Fascist thought through a concept similar to a parent and their child.
The ideas of Individual freedom are personified through Leonardo and the Horse. The horse
symbolizes freedom and independence and is always used to represent Leonardo, making him the
embodiment of the Rebels and their ideas of freedom for all social structures. ( Horse ) A prime
example is from Act One where mother in law sings Hush, baby, hush. Sing of the

materials like ribbon, silk, and lace. Boys would wear gowns with trousers under until they were 12,
Girls would wear gowns, and Oder women would wear dresses with corsets accentuating their curves,
men would wear trousers, vets, pants, shirts and clothes made of silk and bright colors. Men s trousers
were above knee level. Women s clothing was stiff, and uncomfortable. French Revolution: During the

Peeling Back the Layers of being Privileged
The concept of privilege is a fairly easy concept to understand once you peel back all of its layers. But
it is also a concept that is rarely discussed among society. Because society is so focused on how
everyone is one in the same , the conversation of how people are actually different is never discussed.
Understanding that even though we all are human beings; our race, class, sexuality, religion, and many
other things is what makes us all different in some shape or form. Conversations revolved around
institutional discrimination and institutional racism can prevent certain people with privilege from
understanding how marginalized groups are being oppressed by certain systems. For some reason,
privileged people, particularly white privileged people, assume that all experiences are universal when
we all know they aren t. Assuming that all experiences are universal erases the lived experiences of
marginalized people. Not only is there privilege related to skin color, but there is also privilege in
sexuality as well. Heterosexual men and women have privilege as well. There have been well
documented cases of institutional discrimination against those in the LGBTQIA community. While
white privilege and heteronormativity privilege are forms of privilege, there are also other forms of
privileges as well. But of course, there are some heterosexual men and women that don t believe that
they have problem. Sadly, they do, but they fail to recognize even the smallest things that form

Why We Need The TSA Essay
After the events of 09/11/2001 the Department of Homeland security was founded and within the
department fell a new agency known as the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The TSA
was instructed to secure all modes of transportation and they committee was instructed that they
wanted to see result soon. Additionally the Aviation and Transportation Security Act required the
screening of passengers, cargo and luggage for explosives as the primary priority. Even though the
TSA is charged with the transportation security the primary focus has been Airport security. Long

The current screening method is the body scanner which has been reported on multiple times by the
news as it is consider invasive in nature. The screener is able to see the passenger s nude image, but
software updates have eliminated this providing only detection of metallic and nonmetallic threats.
The prior method of a metal detector which did not alarm staff if nonmetallic threats existed allowed
C 4 explosive (a clay type of explosive) to board the plan. The body scanners are quicker than the
former methods of a pat down , which every passenger had to endure and were less invasive. This
system will be used by the TSA until a better method is discovered, which will provide faster
screening, more privacy to passengers and better detection of threats. The cost of this has rising over
the years but it was the initial setup of the TSA in 2002 which cost the most since there was not an
agency within this realm that completed these duties.
Security costs at airports have increased because of Transportation Security Administration operations.
It has also resulted in numerous passenger delays and additional cost. People likely are spending
thousands, if not millions, of hours at airports, which results in loss of productivity. (Gaines Kappeler,
2012) The initial cost of setting up a security screening area that the airports was $6.8 billon

Mistakes In Medical Field Essay
Jerald A. Eckman Making mistakes is what it means to be human. It is the way in which we deal with
this adversity that determines whether we will regress or prosper. I think of the mistakes I have made
in my life as opportunities to grow as a man and a young physician an individual with the ability and
desire to help others in need, especially during times in their life when they may feel as though many
of their decisions have been mistakes. When my medical education began, I immediately knew this
was a passion unlike any other I had ever had. Unfortunately, my exuberance for becoming a
physician was not initially met with academic achievement. At the end of my first semester, I knew
that I could either let the mistakes I have made defeat me, or I could use them to my advantage. I often
reflect on my initial struggles as a medical student as being one of the most difficult, and yet,
ironically rewarding experiences of my adult life. To this day, I recall the uncertainty I faced, and the

Essay On The Equal Rights Amendment
Alice Paul and Crystal Eastman wrote the Equal Rights Amendment. The ERA is an amendment to the
United States Constitution created to guarantee equal rights amongst all citizens disregarding the sex.
It specifically states Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United
States or by any state on account of sex . The ERAs purpose was to end the legal distinctions between
men and women in terms of divorce, property, employment, and other matters. In 1923, the
amendment was introduced for the first time in Congress by the National Women s Party and since
then has brought up many conversations about men and women s equality.
During the process of trying to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment there were certain people who
were huge supporters of the amendment and others who were eager to prevent it from happening.
During the 1970 s and 1980 s, there were many different feminist groups in New Orleans, such as the
National Organization for Women or NOW, the Independent Women s Organization or IWO, and the
Women s Liberation Coalition or WLC. NOW and IWO were categorized to be more of the liberal
groups, whereas the WLC was the more radical collective group. In 1966, feminist Betty Friedan co
founded NOW. This organization was an aspire for women, to bring them into the mainstream of
American society now [in] fully equal partnership with men. Friedan was also homophobic. She

Treasure Island, Captain Blood, And We Are Pirates
The passage of a near half millennium has done much in the way of reshaping the familiar genre of
pirate literature of today. One familiar with the courageous and somewhat ridiculous story lines of
Pirates of the Caribbean, needs merely to briefly leaf through the poorly written, and perhaps even
plagiarized 17th century pirate play The Sea Voyage to confirm this notion. However, while the works
of this genre, like the world itself, has evolved immensely in the past four hundred plus years, an
important thread of continuity has remained which runs throughout the numerous stories of the pirate
genre. Facilitating the rich, adventurous story lines, and the formation of lovable characters, the ability
of the pirate genres protagonists to precariously balance their boyish actions with bravery are
paramount.

Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire by...
Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams
In the play, A Streetcar Named Desire, author Tennessee Williams does a wonderful job developing
the character of Stanley Kowalski. To me, his character seemed most like that of a true person. On the
other hand, Stella, Stanley s wife, is mainly displayed as being the loving type, and because that is
basically the only character trait she displays, it is difficult to really understand her as a person. The
character of Stanley Kowalski is developed much like a real person, having numerous personality
traits. One characteristic of Stanley is his rudeness and cruelty towards Blanche, Stella s sister. It is
very apparent that Stanley does not care for Blanche. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A very apparent character trait of Stanley is his love for his wife, Stella. In scene two, Stella and
Stanley notice all the very nice things that Blanche has in her trunk. For Blanche being a poor girl,
Stanley knows that she shouldn t have so many nice things.
Stanley expresses his concern to Stella as he says, It looks like you have been swindled, baby... . This
shows that Stanley only wants for
Stella what she deserves, and if Blanche is not sharing what money is also Stella s, then it upsets him.
Normand Berlin, author of
Complementarity in A Streetcar Named Desire also agrees that Stanley is much in love for Stella. He
states that Stanley, himself a garish sun, claims Stella, the star . As much as Stanley loves and cares for
Stella, he has a tendency to act the other way, not so loving. The aggressiveness of Stanley is probably
his most evident character trait expressed through out the play. One might not think that a simple
game of poker with the boys could turn so violent when a couple women walk in the room. Stanley s
poker game must be very important to him in order for him to lose complete control and get physical
with Stella.
At the start of his outrage, the other men playing poker try to calm him down, Take it easy, Stanley.
Easy fellow . However, Stanley does not listen, and instead causes Stella to threaten Stanley as her
own defense, by saying, You

Lions in the midst of a giant battle, scars created that will not heal, full effort displayed, and all for the
lioness who ultimately decides her mate. People, characters, animals there is one intangible concept
that all understand, and that is that they may not always end up with who they love no matter how
hard they fight. In the book Frost by Night, by Sara Raasch the heart stealing characters in the book
are Meira and Mather, who have a forbidden love, but the reader wants them to end up together.

Behind the the fair facade roses have thorns, all should beware the thorns. You have the greatest
capacity to love of anyone I ve ever known. You loved your father despite his flaws; you loved me
even when you knew nothing about me, other than that I was just as unseen as you were. You are so
much stronger than me (Raasch 480). Everyone has the capacity to love, but people contain harmful
mental blocks which hinder them from living up to their full potential. Love is a dangerous tool. Since
love covers sins, flaws, and wrongs, the ability to bear more pain than anyone ever should is
extremely viable. Love allows desperate souls to overlook the hurt to stay with who they believe is
their one true partner. This will be perfect. This is how it should be. She will love me with all the
devotion I have earned from her. Theron sacrifices everything to gain Meira s love, but to no avail
because she only loves Mather. Another complicated feature about love is that it can not be forced.
Even though people will be completely devoted to someone, their love is may not reciprocated. Often
times author s hide these characters because they demonstrate the part of love that kills, degrades, and
stomps all the living passion out of a person. Love brings hope to hard situations, but love also brings

Capricorn By Max Ernst, Pokal ) By Balthasar Griessmann
Artists do not create sculptures. They simply see an object and begin to mold or carve it, thus allowing
that object to freely stand alone. Almost anything can be sculpted, but what makes a good monument
is its ability to tell a story or cause contemplation without words. Two pieces at the Nelson Atkins
Museum of Art in Kansas City depict unique scenarios using lines, movement, balance, and value.
Capricorn by Max Ernst and Pokal by Balthasar Griessmann use organization of the elements of form
and principles of design to both narrate and describe intense ideologies. While both pieces have
similarities such as being sculptured in the round and storytelling ability, the use of the elements and
overall tones of the art works give each piece a unique quality.
Max Ernst, a German artist born in the late 1890 s created Capricorn in 1948 using a Bronze casting
system. The sculpture depicts a royal family, consisting of a man, a woman, and a small child
(female). They man is sitting on what seems to be a throne, and is holding a massive cane. The woman
sits next to the man on her own chair, in a very formal upright position, while the small girl sits on the
man s lap. Max Ernst titled the work Capricorn , which relates to astrology and a constellation,
suggesting a spiritual belief. Ernst was married to Dorothea Tanning, a fellow artist, and it is believed
that the characters in the sculpture are portrayals of them. Ernst also owned several Katsina, or Zuni

Neonatal Nurse Research Paper
Neonatal Nurse I want to be a neonatal nurse who takes care of newborn infants who were born
prematurely. There are some procedures that may be needed for the care of the baby. What I know
about a neonatal nurse is that you need to have a four year bachelors and masters of science in nursing
degree. The reason I m interested in this career is because I want to save lives and make a difference
in the lives of the infants and their families. This career is something I will enjoy doing even if it can
be sad at times. The information I found out about a neonatal nurse was that their duties include
administering medications, monitoring vital signs and providing vital nutrients to newborns. Most
premature and sick newborns have lungs that aren t fully developed, the neonatal nurse must ensure
that infants are breathing and maturing properly. They provide complete care for babies, such as attend
deliveries, weigh and measure infants, bathe them and monitor their health. They also teach new
parents about newborn care and breastfeeding. Hospital work requires nurses to be composed, caring
and in control every second of their shift. Although neonatal nurses witness the miracle of birth every

The Fundamental Concepts Of Statistics
Question 5
This paper will provide a sample of the fundamental concepts in statistics. During research there is
usually variance between individuals within a group or between different groups. During hypothesis
testing the researcher wants to know if the sample of data collected is truly representative of the entire
population.
Null hypothesis testing is concerned with the correlation or differences in means (continuous data)
between groups. The null hypothesis works on the premise that there is no difference between two
groups such as males and females who respond to a set of items (independent sample T test). The null
hypothesis can also be described as the hypothesized mean being equal to the population mean. So the
null hypothesis is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whereas, if I fail to reject the null, because I believe the groups are the same when, in fact, they are
different this is a type 2 error. In its simplest terms, Type I error is the incorrect rejection of the null
hypothesis, whereas Type II is the incorrect acceptance of the null hypothesis.
Related to hypothesis testing is the Significance level or cut off point (alpha). The P or the probability
value is one of the indicators that can be used to test the null hypothesis. Usually a significance level =
.05 (95% confidence interval) or lower is the accepted rule for rejecting the null hypothesis. This
means that we will accept up to 5% of type 1 error. Also, P 0.01 sometimes is referred to as
statistically highly significant. If the p value is .05, then we would reject the null hypothesis. Visually,
on a bell curve (two tailed test) this can be presented as the critical region or how far our sample
statistic is from the null hypothesis. In relation to P values there is the confidence interval (or bound).
A 0.05 level of significance would be centered on a 95% confidence interval. If our given value sits
outside the bound we would reject the null. However, if our value sits within the interval we would not
reject the null hypothesis.
Another concern during research is the issue of sampling error due to only a portion of the population
being used during a study. Even when bias is reduced by random sampling the

Now a day s online gaming is becoming more and more popular. In fact, the tournament organized by

Power Dynamic Between Joan And Roger s Episode Babylon
In the episode Babylon from the television show Mad Men, the power dynamic between Joan and
Roger is unusual in that while Roger, a stereotypical white entitled male in the sixties, owns the ad
agency and objectifies Joan, his desire for her, and her ability to manipulate his desire, allows her to
take the power in the relationship and remain independent.
America has had a historically dominant patriarchal system with a particular type of man in charge:
the white, heterosexual, male, who until the 60s 70s had yet to be challenged in his birthright claim to
authority and status. These men believed they were superior to anyone who didn t have the same

Microfinance And Small Scale Business
Introduction
Microfinance are the financial institutions who provide loans or funds to individuals who do not
possess the actual documents which can be submitted to banks to seek/borrow loans. These
individuals can be entrepreneurs and small scale business owners. Microfinance institutions mostly
function in developing countries when compared to developed countries. They are almost similar to
banks with regards to the nature of functioning, for instance, they fund people who would like to start
a poultry business (farmers), transportation and restaurants.
The functions as mentioned earlier are similar to the banking institutions, however, the range of
transactions are in small scale. The transactions mostly happen with few hundreds of dollars. The
money borrowed are often used to buy the tools and necessary items to start with construction in case
of a new small business or for reconstruction in case of an established trader. The main purpose of
these small entrepreneurs is to support their families and the run their business to get themselves out
of poverty. Microfinance institutions lends loan on short term basis where the borrower is expected to
pay their loan within 6 months to 1 year. Hence these institutions do not require much documents prior
to approve the loans, as it can be seen with most banks.
What kind of innovation is microfinance today?

Technology is developing so rapidly that it has started to affect different aspects of the society
especially business. Online business was invented in 20th century in the UK and has quickly spread all
over the world. With an increasing popularity of the online shopping, more and more retailers start to
sell online, which makes the marketplace become more competitive. In order to be successful, it is
important for the retailers to understand the most important factors that satisfy the customers when
they purchase online. Once the level of the e satisfaction increases, the purchase intention will
increase and online retailers can gain more profit. Among all the factors that will potentially affect
online satisfaction, the aim of this essay ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to show the importance of website design and its flow, Amazon is taken as an example.
Amazon has spent millions of dollars on the design of their website; and finally succeeded in creating
the Amazon brand. Because of its ability to attract the customers attention and satisfy the customers,
many companies adopted the Amazon website design when designing their own websites (Rosen
Purinton, 2004). Although the product, product descriptions, cover images, and editorial content from
their vendors are the same between Amazon and its competitors such as Barnesandnoble.com,
Amazon engages its users better by making use of the customer activity to produce better search
results; unlike other website searches which only lead with the company s own products or sponsored
results (O Reilly, 2007). Involving more user participation in its website design is one of the most
important reasons why Amazon gains a higher level of satisfaction from customers and a greater
success than its competitors.
Apart from website design, perceptions of online trust play an important role in e satisfaction. Trust is
used in this essay because it includes both security and privacy. According to the finding of Koufaris
and Hampton Sosa (2004), although the number of the web users grows at a fast speed, only
approximately 15% of those surfers buy online. Besides, an increasing

Critical Analysis Of Hills Like White Elephants
The topic of Hills Like White Elephants by Ernest Hemingway continues to be a hot button issue,
even 90 years after the story s publication. Though not as scandalous as it must have been in 1927, it
remains the subject of great debate. Two lovers are awaiting a train that will whisk them away to
Madrid for the purpose of an abortion. Even though the decision was made before arriving at the
station, they continue to debate whether she will go through with it. The American s persuasive
dialogue makes it apparent that he wants Jig to have the abortion and is concerned that she will change
her mind; however she is more concerned with the fate of her relationship with the man and the effects
an abortion may have on her. The first indication of a division between the lovers is the description of
the setting where Hemingway writes ...the station was between two lines of rails in the sun (2 3), the
rail lines representing the two people and the station the division between them. Upon arriving, they
immediately orders two beers. The lovers order several alcoholic drinks during their short 40 minute
wait at the station, presumably to ease the tension and calm the anxiety. Once the couple is settled
with their drinks, Jig makes an observation about their view of the hills, saying They look like white
elephants, (9) to which the American responds I ve never seen one, (10). Here is where the proverbial
can of worms is opened. The woman made a simple observation when she

The monitor had 5 to 8 inches thick armor plating.(Ann Brophy) The ship was 172 feet long and
weighed 776 tons. Ericsson added a revolutionary spinning tournament at the top of the ship that could
hit a target without moving the ship. All ships before the monitor had cannons on the starboard and

money from the monitors getting built for river patrols. It was the first time Ericsson was financially

Fredrick Deeming s Whitechapel Murders
Fredrick Deeming born on the 30 July 1853, was an English man, who was hanged in Australia for the
murder of his two wives and their children. After his execution suspicions began to arise about
whether he had any responsibility in the Whitechapel murders. The white Chapel murders were series
of grotesque killings in 1888 which was mainly targeted at the prostitutes in the poverty stricken
Whitechapel district. Fredrick Deeming was a renowned Australian con artist, thief and serial killer.
He was considered aggressive, rude and strange towards women. He lived a difficult youth and ran off
to sea at an early age. He began a life of thieving and fraud. He murdered his first wife Marie and their
four children and his second wife Emily Mather in Melbourne March 1891. Their bodies were left
decomposing under the floors of their previous homes. He later travelled to Western Australia were he
was captured. He was trialed and hanged for the murder of Marie and Emily Mather and his four

placement of object around the victims were similar and that he was just as aggressive as the Ripper.

The Symbiotic Relationship Of The Hypothalamus Interaction...
As the control center of the endocrine system, the hypothalamus interacts with the body in a unique
way. It has a symbiotic relationship with the pituitary gland, which stimulates the release of hormones
to different parts of the body. Located inferior to the hypothalamus, the pituitary gland lies within a
cavity of the sphenoid bone known as the sella turcica. The hypothalamus communicates with the
pituitary gland through two separate lobes: one leading to the anterior pituitary and another leading to
the posterior pituitary. The connection of these two lobes through the infundibulum forms the bridge
between the nervous and endocrine systems. The lobe that connects the hypothalamus to the anterior
pituitary is called the hypophyseal portal

Jane Eyre Comparison
Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre
I was very surprised that there aren t many women writers in our text book. So, I have been interested
in a woman writer, Charlotte Bronte. She dealt with a problem about women and their lives. Most of
women at that time didn t have lots of power. But Charlotte Bronte published her novel and became
famous. Charlotte Bronte judged herself. small and plain and Quaker like . Jane Eyre s character very
similar with Charlotte Bronte s one. Jane Eyre is based on Charlotte Bronte s own life. We can know
about women s position at that age. I think it is important novel for student who studies feminism and
literature. And I think it isn t quiet different with now days.
I resisted all the way. Jane Eyre sates at the beginning of Chapter 2. It contains all thing she wanted to
tell. Jane Eyre is a young woman wholly unprotected by social position, family, or independent
wealth; she is without power. She was not equal with males even Rochester. Jane Eyre had to resist all
about these things. There are many things that she had to resist. She feels a patriarchism of a society
through the educations and love. And she against that kinds of thing and find out her identity.

is a advantage to Jane. Jane will not rebel against God or lose her self respect and become Rochester s
mistress when she finds out that he is already married. And Jane has image of resuscitation. It is
woman s own image. Jane saved his life. And she got married him who became blind and lost his arm.

Shake Shack Case
Market research denotes a systematic and an objective collection as well as analysis of data regarding
a certain target market. This is inclusive of the level of competition and the environment. Market
research plays a significant role in gaining an increased understanding of the issue under scrutiny. The
importance of market research when implementing a new business strategy cannot be ignored. This is
particularly important if a business wants to establish new operating locations as a diversification
strategy. Therefore, it is important that when implementing the geographical expansion plan, Shake
Shack should conduct effective research. Effective market research needs to be grounded on such
factors such as the geographical location of the new operational area, population and target consumers.

Pop Art In The 1960s
Years following World War II, the United States enjoyed an unprecedented period of economic and
political growth. The Vietnam War incited mass protests, the Civil Rights Movement sought equality
for African Americans, and the women s liberation movement gained momentum. Entertainment
stepped into the new level with the monumental super stars such as Elis Presley led the emergence of
Rock and Roll, Marilyn Monroe was a reigning film star, and television replaced radio as the
dominant media outlet. Yet by the late 1950s and early 1960s, a cultural revolution was underway, led
by activists, thinkers, and artists who sought to rethink and even overturn what was, in their eyes, a
stifling social order ruled by conformity. Following the transformation to popular of the world, the
new art movement had occurred, Pop Art. Pop artists began to look for inspiration in the world around
them, representing and, at times, making art directly from everyday items, consumer goods, and mass
media. When it emerged in the 1960s, Pop art was not just about bold colors and celebrity culture; it
brought the popular world from cartoons and advertising to apples and bananas into the realm of high
art, turning taste on its head in the process. It was in this climate of turbulence, experimentation, and
consumerism that a new generation of artists emerged in Britain and America in the mid to late 1950s.
They did this in a straightforward manner, using bold swaths of primary colors, often

How Much Power Does Corruption
Power does corrupt because of money, laws (for freedom), and fame. Power does corrupt sometimes,
but mostly, yes. Power does corrupt because sometimes, other people only think about themselves of
being popular or having fame. Sometimes they only care about money. But what s the reason? Power
does corrupt because of money. It can be used to people by wasting it in a bad way or just being
famous by doing stupid things. For example, Some celebrities are ruined by drugs like Michael
Jackson. When you have power, sometimes you re rich and they steal something from you. And
sometimes, people gets jealous of you by having a power. Power does corrupt because of laws/rules or

The present study attempts to analyse the governing factors behind the delays in construction of
highway projects in India. Ahmedabad, largest city in the state of Gujarat and the adjoining areas are
considered for fetching the data required in the present work. Pre designed questionnaire is prepared
and used as a research tool for collecting information pertaining to frequency of occurrence of non
value adding activities in highway projects with respect to construction practices. Seventy seven
samples are being collected and the same are used here for the analysis. Fuzzy Logic based Delay
Prediction Models (FL DPM) are developed to predict the delay in construction of highways for
different levels of control over the three categories of predictor variable i.e. Human Resource,
Equipment and Material. The developed models are observed to predict the delay in projects
satisfactorily as validated by the collected responses. These models find application in Indian
infrastructure industry where a huge uncertainty prevails right from the planning phase to the
execution of the project. The findings here can facilitate dissemination of research and practice of
Lean Construction concept among stakeholders of the Indian construction sector which is believed to
mitigate various losses that accompanies the conventional approaches, particularly in the execution of
highway projects.

Hip Hop, AAnd Creative Aspect Of Music
Breaking through in the heart of the Bronx, Hip Hop was designed to empower and teach the youth,
while providing them an outlet for creative expression. Developed on five essential pillars, all working
towards: giving African Americans knowledge that they didn t have access to, inspiring them to read
and acquire true knowledge of self, and to understand the role that self has in America in relation to
the actual worth of self. Since the inception of Hip Hop, the genre has evolved through the times while
transcending new depths aligned with its original pillars.
An innovator in a sense, DJ Kool Herc founded Hip Hop by the early 70 s. MC s, DJ s, breakdancing,
graffiti and music encompass the five pillars of Hip Hop. Modern inversions interpret these pillars in
many different ways. Prevalent through all major cities, graffiti evolved to the murals on the side of
buildings, and the creative aspect of music videos. Artists have visions interpreted in the way they
decide to imagine their visuals. Breakdancing has become the advance dance crazes that sweep the
nations. People in Japan are hitting the Nae Nae because of Hip Hop s mass globalization. MC s are
the talk show host and commentators of award shows and hosts of events and red carpet specials:
media. Dispersion of Hip Hop through channels that connect Blacks across different scopes happens

  • 2. The Power Of Change In Blood Wedding By Federico Lorca Blood Wedding was written during a time of civil and political turmoil in Spain. Federico Lorca, the author of Blood Wedding, was one of many individuals divided over whether the people should have the oppression of the traditional ruling government or to have a new individually based era reign over Spain. Being a homosexual male inside such difficult times, Lorca was in favor for change. He wrote this play using a real life event that he read in the newspaper about a bride that ran away with the son of an enemy family. The events he read and the events in the play are a time capsule of the emotions distributed by both those for and those against change in Spain. Lorca s use of lyrical phrasing and supernatural phenomena masks the true ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Act Two when Mother states: As bull s go, my son will be a good worker. (39). Groom, the embodiment of the traditional Republican government, was deeply affected by the death of his father and brother, however this represents the weakening of the Spanish government due to the civil disputes within it. The use of bulls and blood are used to symbolize war. The Fascist leaders of Italy aided in the Spanish Civil War, they urged the Republican Government to wage war to prevent further uprisings by the Rebels, which were the individuals fighting for freedom ( The Spanish Civil War ). Groom and Mother s relationship is used by Lorca to portray how he views the traditional Spanish government and how it is being influenced by Fascist thought through a concept similar to a parent and their child. The ideas of Individual freedom are personified through Leonardo and the Horse. The horse symbolizes freedom and independence and is always used to represent Leonardo, making him the embodiment of the Rebels and their ideas of freedom for all social structures. • 4. Peeling Back the Layers of being Privileged The concept of privilege is a fairly easy concept to understand once you peel back all of its layers. But it is also a concept that is rarely discussed among society. Because society is so focused on how everyone is one in the same , the conversation of how people are actually different is never discussed. Understanding that even though we all are human beings; our race, class, sexuality, religion, and many other things is what makes us all different in some shape or form. Conversations revolved around institutional discrimination and institutional racism can prevent certain people with privilege from understanding how marginalized groups are being oppressed by certain systems. For some reason, privileged people, particularly white privileged people, assume that all experiences are universal when we all know they aren t. Assuming that all experiences are universal erases the lived experiences of marginalized people. Not only is there privilege related to skin color, but there is also privilege in sexuality as well. Heterosexual men and women have privilege as well. There have been well documented cases of institutional discrimination against those in the LGBTQIA community. While white privilege and heteronormativity privilege are forms of privilege, there are also other forms of privileges as well. But of course, there are some heterosexual men and women that don t believe that they have problem. Sadly, they do, but they fail to recognize even the smallest things that form ... The screener is able to see the passenger s nude image, but software updates have eliminated this providing only detection of metallic and nonmetallic threats. The prior method of a metal detector which did not alarm staff if nonmetallic threats existed allowed C 4 explosive (a clay type of explosive) to board the plan. The body scanners are quicker than the former methods of a pat down , which every passenger had to endure and were less invasive. This system will be used by the TSA until a better method is discovered, which will provide faster screening, more privacy to passengers and better detection of threats. The cost of this has rising over the years but it was the initial setup of the TSA in 2002 which cost the most since there was not an agency within this realm that completed these duties. Security costs at airports have increased because of Transportation Security Administration operations. It has also resulted in numerous passenger delays and additional cost. It is the way in which we deal with this adversity that determines whether we will regress or prosper. I think of the mistakes I have made in my life as opportunities to grow as a man and a young physician an individual with the ability and desire to help others in need, especially during times in their life when they may feel as though many of their decisions have been mistakes. When my medical education began, I immediately knew this was a passion unlike any other I had ever had. Unfortunately, my exuberance for becoming a physician was not initially met with academic achievement. At the end of my first semester, I knew that I could either let the mistakes I have made defeat me, or I could use them to my advantage. • 7. Essay On The Equal Rights Amendment Alice Paul and Crystal Eastman wrote the Equal Rights Amendment. The ERA is an amendment to the United States Constitution created to guarantee equal rights amongst all citizens disregarding the sex. It specifically states Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex . The ERAs purpose was to end the legal distinctions between men and women in terms of divorce, property, employment, and other matters. In 1923, the amendment was introduced for the first time in Congress by the National Women s Party and since then has brought up many conversations about men and women s equality. During the process of trying to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment there were certain people who were huge supporters of the amendment and others who were eager to prevent it from happening. During the 1970 s and 1980 s, there were many different feminist groups in New Orleans, such as the National Organization for Women or NOW, the Independent Women s Organization or IWO, and the Women s Liberation Coalition or WLC. Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams In the play, A Streetcar Named Desire, author Tennessee Williams does a wonderful job developing the character of Stanley Kowalski. On the other hand, Stella, Stanley s wife, is mainly displayed as being the loving type, and because that is basically the only character trait she displays, it is difficult to really understand her as a person. Stanley expresses his concern to Stella as he says, It looks like you have been swindled, baby... . This shows that Stanley only wants for Stella what she deserves, and if Blanche is not sharing what money is also Stella s, then it upsets him. Normand Berlin, author of Complementarity in A Streetcar Named Desire also agrees that Stanley is much in love for Stella. He states that Stanley, himself a garish sun, claims Stella, the star . As much as Stanley loves and cares for Stella, he has a tendency to act the other way, not so loving. The aggressiveness of Stanley is probably his most evident character trait expressed through out the play. Everyone has the capacity to love, but people contain harmful mental blocks which hinder them from living up to their full potential. Love is a dangerous tool. • 11. Capricorn By Max Ernst, Pokal ) By Balthasar Griessmann Artists do not create sculptures. They simply see an object and begin to mold or carve it, thus allowing that object to freely stand alone. Almost anything can be sculpted, but what makes a good monument is its ability to tell a story or cause contemplation without words. Two pieces at the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City depict unique scenarios using lines, movement, balance, and value. Capricorn by Max Ernst and Pokal by Balthasar Griessmann use organization of the elements of form and principles of design to both narrate and describe intense ideologies. While both pieces have similarities such as being sculptured in the round and storytelling ability, the use of the elements and overall tones of the art works give each piece a unique quality. Max Ernst, a German artist born in the late 1890 s created Capricorn in 1948 using a Bronze casting system. The sculpture depicts a royal family, consisting of a man, a woman, and a small child (female). They man is sitting on what seems to be a throne, and is holding a massive cane. The woman sits next to the man on her own chair, in a very formal upright position, while the small girl sits on the man s lap. Max Ernst titled the work Capricorn , which relates to astrology and a constellation, suggesting a spiritual belief. Ernst was married to Dorothea Tanning, a fellow artist, and it is believed that the characters in the sculpture are portrayals of them. Ernst also owned several Katsina, or Zuni sprit ... There are some procedures that may be needed for the care of the baby. What I know about a neonatal nurse is that you need to have a four year bachelors and masters of science in nursing degree. The reason I m interested in this career is because I want to save lives and make a difference in the lives of the infants and their families. This career is something I will enjoy doing even if it can be sad at times. The information I found out about a neonatal nurse was that their duties include administering medications, monitoring vital signs and providing vital nutrients to newborns. Most premature and sick newborns have lungs that aren t fully developed, the neonatal nurse must ensure that infants are breathing and maturing properly. They provide complete care for babies, such as attend deliveries, weigh and measure infants, bathe them and monitor their health. They also teach new parents about newborn care and breastfeeding. • 13. The Fundamental Concepts Of Statistics Question 5 This paper will provide a sample of the fundamental concepts in statistics. During research there is usually variance between individuals within a group or between different groups. During hypothesis testing the researcher wants to know if the sample of data collected is truly representative of the entire population. Null hypothesis testing is concerned with the correlation or differences in means (continuous data) between groups. The null hypothesis works on the premise that there is no difference between two groups such as males and females who respond to a set of items (independent sample T test). The null hypothesis can also be described as the hypothesized mean being equal to the population mean. So the null hypothesis is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Whereas, if I fail to reject the null, because I believe the groups are the same when, in fact, they are different this is a type 2 error. In its simplest terms, Type I error is the incorrect rejection of the null hypothesis, whereas Type II is the incorrect acceptance of the null hypothesis. Related to hypothesis testing is the Significance level or cut off point (alpha). The P or the probability value is one of the indicators that can be used to test the null hypothesis. Usually a significance level = .05 (95% confidence interval) or lower is the accepted rule for rejecting the null hypothesis. This means that we will accept up to 5% of type 1 error. Also, P 0.01 sometimes is referred to as statistically highly significant. If the p value is .05, then we would reject the null hypothesis. Visually, on a bell curve (two tailed test) this can be presented as the critical region or how far our sample statistic is from the null hypothesis. In relation to P values there is the confidence interval (or bound). A 0.05 level of significance would be centered on a 95% confidence interval. If our given value sits outside the bound we would reject the null. However, if our value sits within the interval we would not reject the null hypothesis. Another concern during research is the issue of sampling error due to only a portion of the population being used during a study. Even when bias is reduced by random sampling the ... Microfinance And Small Scale Business Introduction Microfinance are the financial institutions who provide loans or funds to individuals who do not possess the actual documents which can be submitted to banks to seek/borrow loans. These individuals can be entrepreneurs and small scale business owners. Microfinance institutions mostly function in developing countries when compared to developed countries. They are almost similar to banks with regards to the nature of functioning, for instance, they fund people who would like to start a poultry business (farmers), transportation and restaurants. The functions as mentioned earlier are similar to the banking institutions, however, the range of transactions are in small scale. The transactions mostly happen with few hundreds of dollars. Hypertension is caused when blood is pumped to the heart at high pressure through a network of arteries and veins, it is thought that high levels of insulin could damage the arteries; this then can cause the arteries to become narrower forcing the blood through a smaller space (NHS Choices 2014) Whilst nursing this particular female it was apparent that when her mental health deteriorated so did her management of diabetes, Walker Rodgers (2010) state that one in five people with diabetes are likely to suffer from depression (pg 186) .The biggest pre disposing complication that exacerbated Lizzies long term conditions was her medication non compliance and her inability to give consent for treatment that would promote her recovery and prevent hospital admission. In order to show the importance of website design and its flow, Amazon is taken as an example. Amazon has spent millions of dollars on the design of their website; and finally succeeded in creating the Amazon brand. Because of its ability to attract the customers attention and satisfy the customers, many companies adopted the Amazon website design when designing their own websites (Rosen Purinton, 2004). Although the product, product descriptions, cover images, and editorial content from their vendors are the same between Amazon and its competitors such as Barnesandnoble.com, Amazon engages its users better by making use of the customer activity to produce better search results; unlike other website searches which only lead with the company s own products or sponsored results (O Reilly, 2007). Involving more user participation in its website design is one of the most important reasons why Amazon gains a higher level of satisfaction from customers and a greater success than its competitors. Apart from website design, perceptions of online trust play an important role in e satisfaction. Trust is used in this essay because it includes both security and privacy. • 23. Critical Analysis Of Hills Like White Elephants The topic of Hills Like White Elephants by Ernest Hemingway continues to be a hot button issue, even 90 years after the story s publication. Though not as scandalous as it must have been in 1927, it remains the subject of great debate. Two lovers are awaiting a train that will whisk them away to Madrid for the purpose of an abortion. Even though the decision was made before arriving at the station, they continue to debate whether she will go through with it. The American s persuasive dialogue makes it apparent that he wants Jig to have the abortion and is concerned that she will change her mind; however she is more concerned with the fate of her relationship with the man and the effects an abortion may have on her. The first indication of a division between the lovers is the description of the setting where Hemingway writes ...the station was between two lines of rails in the sun (2 3), the rail lines representing the two people and the station the division between them. Upon arriving, they immediately orders two beers. The lovers order several alcoholic drinks during their short 40 minute wait at the station, presumably to ease the tension and calm the anxiety. Once the couple is settled with their drinks, Jig makes an observation about their view of the hills, saying They look like white elephants, (9) to which the American responds I ve never seen one, (10). Here is where the proverbial can of worms is opened. The woman made a simple observation when she ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Vietnam War incited mass protests, the Civil Rights Movement sought equality for African Americans, and the women s liberation movement gained momentum. Entertainment stepped into the new level with the monumental super stars such as Elis Presley led the emergence of Rock and Roll, Marilyn Monroe was a reigning film star, and television replaced radio as the dominant media outlet.
