This study assesses the impact of mobilization advance payments (MAP) on the performance of small-scale contractors in the Tamale Metropolis, Ghana, revealing that 49% of stakeholders consider MAP the most accessible form of construction financing. While MAP significantly contributes to contractor output, issues such as fund misappropriation hinder its effectiveness, leading to project delays and abandoned projects. The paper recommends that clients ensure the availability of MAP to enhance contractor performance and project success.
