What will the future of social media look like? Our world is increasingly digital, and our lives become more connected each day. Advances in areas such as social media and mobile technology are changing the ways we interact with our friends and family, but also with brands and organisations. They’re changing the way we do business too, and that change is accelerating at an ever-increasing rate. As a consequence, riding the wave of change and trends is becoming a critical part of on-going business success. To that end, this document explores some of the key themes that we believe will shape the digital world over the course of the coming months.

The Future of Social Media: How Will It Impact Life Style and BusinessMahdi Shadkam
In the past decade we have seen many changes in the world of Social Media and business. Twitter and Facebook have adapted to the world of business better than anyone could have imagined. In 2009, we saw the realization of the influence that listening to consumers had on Social Media and in the ending of 2011, media went from being a simple broadcast platform to a sophisticated network of connections and rewarding engagements. In 2012, we saw Social Media as a way of connecting with potential consumers and building brand awareness. Social Media also has undergone some major changes this past year. In 2013, we saw the rise of visual content with the increased use of Pinterest and Instagram while it seems the Facebook is on the decline. Today our life style in Social Media universe is changed, and it is harder for business to find best social marketing strategy. As more companies begin to leverage Social Media for personalized, real-time marketing initiatives, it is imperative to stay ahead of the curve and identify future trends in this space. This study considers to new features of social media, which will shape the future of lifestyle and business.

Over the last decade, television has changed beyond recognition. Significant technological advancements have helped to achieve milestone developments such as multichannel TV and digital broadcast, high definition, 3D, on demand, and most recently, new ways for consumers to watch television content through a multitude of connected devices and screens. The consequences of these changes have impacted how and where audiences can access television content – things which have remained largely static until recently.
The most recent evolutionary shift in television, however, has been different: a shift not in where audiences access content, but a shift in what audiences do while they are watching television, brought about by the arrival and proliferation of connected, ‘second screen’ devices.
Decipher and Red Bee Media investigated this change through a research study conducted among both consumers and media industry experts across the UK. We explored the definitions and dynamics of the second screen landscape, assessed audience demand for synchronised, companion experiences, and revealed the opportunities and challenges afforded by the second screen for content creators, broadcasters, platforms and advertisers.

App-Centric Operators on the Rise mobile trends_charging_report_h1_2014_lr_...Abdallah Nabulsi
As the evolution of data plans continues, unlimited data plans are becoming an offering of the past. Operators are moving away from actions that degrade QoE such as throttling Internet speed and when usage exceeds the volume cap; they simply charge the overage and maintain QoE. As tablets have proliferated during the last
two years, shared data plans have taken off (especially on LTE networks) and now come with various data sharing options. Data plans are evolving to accommodate
the different devices connecting to the mobile Internet, including tablets, dongles, and smartphones.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!
