• The interview process for my first paid
part-time job (found on my own) was
terrifying but also enjoyable because I
learned I could do it.

•The young people I interviewed
•were very confident and
•articulate.
•They had held very responsible
volunteer jobs as well as more
routine jobs.
•They had sought responsibility
through volunteering and part-
time jobs for a number of their
high school years.
•They were both taking a very
advanced Speaker Training
attended mostly by adults.
•I was surprised by the level of
maturity and confidence even
in the face of uncertainty
portrayed by these students!
