George Williams proposes a major solo project of an orchestral and cinematic soundtrack album focusing on contemporary classical genres and experimental vocal techniques. The album aims to combine traditional orchestral music with modern technology and samples to develop a unique sound. Previous works provide examples of Williams' string compositions and demonstrations of vocal inclusion. References are cited for inspiration regarding piano-focused pieces, fusion of orchestral and electronic styles, and effective use of vocals in soundtracks. The project intends to showcase Williams' compositional skills and develop his portfolio for future professional opportunities in film and television scoring.
2. OVERVIEW OF THE PROJECT :
• A standalone soundtrack album, focusing on the themes/genres of contemporary classical and
cinematic composition.
• Piano & Orchestral focused, with a mixture of studio recordings for authenticity, and sample libraries for
added grandeur
• Possible vocals on some tracks- sticking within the cinematic theme of the album. Experimenting with
vocal techniques & effects – reverse reverb, possibilities within Melodyne etc.
• Mixing new with the old- one of the main goals of the project is to make the traditional feel new again-
My own spin on traditional orchestral music with incorporated technology & live recordings. Not
focusing on combining two genres as such, but more to do with combining multiple worlds of sounds, in
an attempt to find my own sound as a composer
