The Effects Of Lowering And Raising Interest Rates
introduction this report is going to discuss the money market and how interest rates are determined,
it will then look at the effects of lowering and raising interest rates and the limitations of these
effects. the money market is a section of the financial market where short term loans and financial
instruments are traded, for example these could be short term loans between banks with the debt
maturing in less than a year.
This gives banks, lenders and other borrowers the ability to satisfy their short term financial needs.
Finance Development, June 2012, Vol. 49, No. 2, Randall Dodd
Explaining how interest rates are determined by the money market once the government has set
targets and objectives, it is up to the policy makers to use the tools available in order to meet these
objectives. these levers are made up using fiscal and monetary policy tools. The tools used in the
fiscal policy is the use of taxation in order to control public spending, which can affect aggregate
demand. When taxes are lower individuals and business will be able to keep more of what they
earn, causing better cash flow in the economy and increasing consumer spending ans confidence.
This will also be more of an incentive for individuals to seek work including workers from other
countries in the EU, as they can keep more of what they earn as take home pay, this will cause a
rise in employment, improving the efficiency of the country. When taxes are high this will
generally work in the opposite

Civic Engagement Survey
Regarding the Stanford Pathways of Public Service and Civic Engagement survey, I have mixed
feelings. Although I agree with my results and have minimal difficulty in making sense of my
results, I feel that the information is not in depth enough to truly be extremely helpful. My
results personally show that I have had the most experience with activisim as a form of public
service/civic engagement. I have some experience with all of the kinds of public service/civic
engagement, except for social entrepreneurship. This can largely be accounted by the fact that I
grew up in a rural area and rarely went into town, which meant my interactions with business have
always been limited. I also simply do not think that I would be quite effective in helping my
community through this specific field. Ultimately, the actions which I find most useful in help are
direct and policy, the first of which I intend on pursuing more in college than I did previously; the
latter I intend to pursue to a similar degree as in high school. I... Show more content on

I struggled to answer some of the questions because there was no room for grey area in how you
felt. Regarding the impact section, the results jumped dramatically from a lot, to some, to little,
to none. I wish that, as opposed to this type of system, our responses could have been measured
on a numeric scale, which enables more grey area. I would like to rank things because I feel that
all of these things have different degrees of impact, different degrees of which I want to partake in
them, etc.; however, I am not given the option to truly rank them like this. Not only are there some
things that I think might have an impact somewhere between little and some, but there are also
some things tha I would like to simply attempt in school. For these activities, it would be
preferential, if I had the opportunity to state something lower than little but not none. If the scale
was numeric, this would be

Examples Of Discovery In Hamlet
The play Hamlet presents Hamlet s path, his self discovery. He is questioning his identity and
struggling with his life after his father died, his mother married his uncle Claudius and the big
pressure is on him to accept Claudius as the new king and also his new father. He is still
mourning his real father, he wears only black clothing and he considers his mother s marriage to
be unnatural and sinful. He cannot cope with these things, he does not know who he is anymore
and does not see the political side of his mother s marriage. He starts acting mad, and the only
time when he is truly sincere is in his soliloquies where he struggles with life. His fake madness is
called antic disposition.
His mother tells him that he must continue with his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He sees a father as his rival for mother s love. It is called an oedipal complex after the Greek myth
in which Oedipus kills his father and marries his mother.
There are some critics that say that Hamlet s oedipal complex is explanation for everything he does
in the play, the way he is acting and the main reason why he cannot revenge his father immediately.
Hamlet s relationship with Ophelia is another example. She is different than Gertrude and Hamlet
wants his mother to be jealous. Hamlet s sexual desire for his mother, according to critics, is the
reason why he cannot revenge his father. Only when Gertrude dies Hamlet kills Claudius.
But Hamlet was written when Freud had not been born and his theory about oedipal complex
cannot be applied to Hamlet. It is not likely that Shakespeare knew about this complex while he
was writing Hamlet. Hamlet was not in love with his mother, he was just acting mad because of his
father s death, his mother s marriage and the appearance of the ghost. These events made him feel
alone and confused and in a state of constant thinking, it took him a long time to finally start acting
and revenge his

Stress Management Plan
1)Develop a comprehensive stress management plan based on the following:
a)Identify four major ongoing stressors in your life. For each stressor, describe why it is a stressor
for you. You need to discuss a variety of areas such as personality, lifestyle, self talk, and/or beliefs.
b)For each of your four stressors describe how you know when you are stressed. What specific
indicators or symptoms do you use to determine that you are under stress? Your indicators of stress
may be physical symptoms, mental/emotional changes, or behavior changes. Include in your
answer, how different levels or type of stress has different and/or more stress symptoms.
c)Describe coping techniques that you have tried that did not help you cope with your stressors.
Explain why each of these techniques did not work for you by giving examples. Include in your
examples the circumstances and the reactions of yourself and others. Your answer must include at
least 3 techniques.
d)Choose and explain stress management techniques that can help you cope with each of your four
stressors. Do not use the same techniques for each stressor. Your answer must include at least four
different coping strategies and the circumstances when you have or plan to use them. For each
stressor take into account: techniques or lifestyle behaviors that can prevent a stressor from
occurring; techniques that can change your thinking about the stressor; ways to calm yourself or
change the situation while the stressor is

Central High School Integration Case Study
While researching the integration of Central High School, I discovered many events that led to the
desegregation of public areas. These events all occurred prior to 1957 and have somehow
contributed to the integration of schools in the United States, including Central High. While
searching through the internet I found several websites that contained timelines and archives of
that era. This content shed light on the effects of segregation and the causes of integration. One
thing that the sources did not cover is if similar situations are occurring today. My goal of this
paper is to analyze the causes of the integration of Central High and determine if the knowledge of
integration can help us resolve or prevent current world problems. I will... Show more content on

As for the ratification of the 14th amendment, it is a political factor that changed the social
relationships within the United States by administering a government policy. Because the south
was required by the Reconstruction Act of 1867 to accept the new amendment in order to
readmit to the union, they were forced to change their views of freed slaves and allow them to
have equal rights. This new politically administered factor then caused the population to view
each race as equals and allow them to have equal education opportunities. The Jim Crow Laws
can be seen as a sociological factor because segregation is a social relation. The more they
segregated themselves by race, the more their behavior and attitudes towards each other changed.
As one race began to feel superior to the others, a changed had to be made. This was the basis for
the Civil Rights Movement. Meanwhile, the Brown vs. Board case can be interpreted as a cultural
factor. A community came together to justify what they believed was a right and just principle. Just
as Mr. Brown once said culture exists in order to project the infantile fantasies into external reality,
where they may be seen and mastered (Brown). This community had a common belief and stood by
it through it all creating their own cultural

Criminals Should Not Have Guns
Convicted Criminals Should Not Own Guns First off, gun control is one of the most stunning and
intriguing topics discussed in the United States today. Gun control should only be for criminals
they should not take guns away from innocent people. Criminals should not be allowed to carry
guns in public as protection because they may harm others, use it for illegal purposes, and with no
federal law. Also, by citing this amendment the supreme court had upheld the right of states to
govern firearms (Masters). In 2008, the decisions were confirmed that an individual right to keep
and bear arms, had outlawed handguns and to lock them in their homes and for them to be
disassembled in Washington, D.C. (Masters). The U.S. has the highest rate... Show more content on

They also add that the system has holes in it (Volokh). Another problem is the laws of carrying
guns vary enormously (Volokh). The case was basically about reading the criminal state and made
sure that the criminal will not go to prison unless the government proves the requirements (Volokh).
Gorsuch and his associates argued that the 10th circuit should have turned the decision that failed
around earlier (Volokh). A felon can regain his gunrights under federal law if the state where he
got convicted restores four things (Volokh). the first and second ones are his gun rights under
state law their right to vote (Volokh). The third and fourth ones are the felons right to serve on a
jury their right to hold office (Volokh). Lastly, no criminals should be allowed to carry guns as
protection in public. Gun control should only apply to criminals who have used guns as a weapon.
One reason that criminals should not be allowed is because they used it to harm another person.
Also, a few others would be that they used it illegally or there is no federal law. Of course they
have certain restrictions on felons or criminals who have used guns as to harm

The Atomic Bomb Changed the World Forever Essay
Introduction
The development and usage of the first atomic bombs has caused a change in military, political,
and public functionality of the world today. The bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
revolutionized warfare by killing large masses of civilian population with a single strike. The
bombs effects from the blast, extreme heat, and radiation left an estimated 140,000 people dead.
The bombs created a temporary resolution that lead to another conflict. The Cold War was a
political standoff between the Soviet Union and the United States that again created a new
worldwide nuclear threat. The destructive potential of nuclear weapons had created a global sweep
of fear as to what might happen if these terrible forces where unleashed again. ... Show more

During the first minute of the explosion many injuries where caused by the instantaneous
penetrating radiation from the nuclear explosion (3). Other casualties came from burning fires that
had ignited throughout the cities from the tremendous heat of the blast (3). The pressure of the
blast waves created flying debris, collapsed buildings, and forcibly hurled people to their death
(3). Undoubtedly those who survived the initial effects of the blast were very lucky. The amount
of deaths caused by the blast itself was incomparable to the number of lives lost to the other effects
after the initial explosion ( Summary of Damages and Injuries 3). The inferno created by the bomb
wasn t from the explosion itself, but the after effects of fires, collapsed buildings, and flying debris
(3). In Hiroshima fires sprang up simultaneously all over the wide flat central area of the city; these
fires combined to form immense fire storms which continued to destroy anything that had not
already been destroyed by the blast. Buildings that had encountered considerable structure damage
collapsed and continued to take even more lives (13). In the end both cities were left totally
obliterated with nearly all of their residential districts and businesses flattened and most of their
citizens dead (14). The technology that had built the atomic bomb helped the world [get] a glimpse
of its own mortality (Lanouette

The Role Of Superficial Yeast Infections In Humans
Yeasts which are unicellular fungi that cause a wide range of infections commonly called yeast
infections in humans. Yeast infections are characterized into two groups superficial and systemic.
Superficial yeast infections affect different parts of the human body including the skin, mouth,
digestive tract, nails, etc and can become persistent (Thevissen, 2005).Systemic yeast infections also
called invasive yeast infections affect the brain, spinal cord, eye, gall bladder, heart, lungs, kidneys
and urinary bladder. These infections have considerably increased over the past recent three
decades due to transplantation procedures, cancer chemotherapy, steroid therapy and, in particular,
HIV infection thus leading to a rise in the number of immunocompromised

Scapular Muscle Rehabilitation
Introduction In regards to mobility, the glenohumeral (GH) joint is one of the best the human
body has to offer. It allows for the range of motion needed for the activities of daily living that we
have all grown accustomed to. In order to execute these motions, however, the shoulder joint needs
a stable base of support. This is one of the primary roles of the scapula and its surrounding
musculature. When the GH joint is injured, however, scapular muscleactivation, and therefore
stability and function, is theoretically altered. Many shoulderrehabilitation programs focus on
restoring proper coordination of these muscles, especially those involved with scapular upward
rotation. Until recently, however, there has not been much research supporting the relationship
between muscle activation ratios and shoulder injuries, nor the ability to preferentially activate
scapular muscles using rehabilitation exercises. Furthermore, the purpose of this study was to
determine if there are differences in muscle activation ratios between healthy individuals and those
with GH injuries, as well as evaluate muscle activation during particular rehabilitation exercises
(Moeller, Huxel Bliven, Snyder Valier, 2014).

Importance of Leadership and Management
Leadership and Management
Importance of proper leadership and management in every sphere of life cannot be disregarded.
Especially, when you are dealing with human ego, you need to consider every act of yours that can
affect your patient s state, either positively or adversely. You need to realize the complete set of
responsibilities that you own when you are at certain designation of leadership or management. It is
evident that organizations where administration is poor have failed to groom and serve. For
example, bad attitude of hospital administration has resulted in patients avoiding to seek services
of health care and treatment properly, just because of fear of getting insulted by the rude
administrators. It s therefore required to safeguard patients right and provide services at their
disposal. This includes services like health information, accessible and affordable care, privacy,
gender equality, safety measures and so on. To accomplish such a sophisticated mission and to
avoid chaos, it requires clear understanding of what a leadership or management is.
Leadership refers to the act of leading an organization to get aid in getting a task completed. It
encompasses inspiring team and making it follow you. It encompasses innovation of ideas, deciding
a specified goal, clearing the vision of goal, communicating it to the team, making strategies to
accomplish task, getting around the resources, motivating team to work and most importantly

If appropriate, ask the person if they d like to review what you ve written so far.
Sidestep going AWOL in the first place. Set up a meeting with your advisor with the plan of
having the entire proposal done. If you realize, a few days before the meeting, that a complete draft
won t be possible, ask whether you can turn in an incomplete draft annotated with specific
questions you have about the gaps. If a journal editor asks for an estimated date for the revision,
reply that you ll try to return the manuscript within a month unless there are unforeseen problems.
Then, if glitches arise, you can contact the editor with a revised estimate of completion. Give
yourself some leeway. If you tend to run late, you might want to adopt the policy of don t ask don
t tell : many academics I work with volunteer deadlines even when it is unnecessary to do so.
Perhaps you should keep your completion goals to yourself.
Take extra steps to avoid AWOL when your absence will affect others. If you are late with a
dissertation chapter or a single authored journal article it usually only hurts you. But when you are
late with a group project, going AWOL has consequences for your colleagues. Put special effort
into promptness in these cases. For example, when you are writing a chapter for an edited volume,
be sure to keep in touch with the

The Political Leadership For Ending The Drug War
There hasn t been any real political leadership for ending the drug war from either of the major
political parties. The Republican Party is the most ardent supporter of the drug war, yet it
contradicts some of its main principles. In fact, it s difficult to name another political issue, other
than the legalization of drugs, which would better accomplish the party s goals for reducing
government spending while benefitting the private sector. The Republican Party has somehow
successfully attached itself to the drug war while selling fears of big government and the nanny
state. Republicans tout the virtues of free markets, yet they apparently don t feel those same
virtues apply to a free society. As Gore Vidal once stated, they prefer laissez faire economics over
laissez faire values. In addition, the Republican Party is generally the most vocal with supporting
states rights in hopes of reducing wasteful federal government spending, except in the case where
states have legalized medical or recreational marijuana.
Very few within the Democratic Partyhave displayed the political courage to challenge the drug
war even though most of their political base would support them. In fact, many Democrats have
used the drug war as a political bargaining chip. Some others have even used the drug war to try to
out conservative the conservatives. That was exactly the case with the Clinton administration.

Zachary Miller Case Study
Despite Zach Miller becoming a favorite target for Cutler last season, Chicago has a lot of
answered questions remaining at the tight end position. As this week s minicamp practices come to
an end, the bears have added Tony Moeaki to their 90 man roster.
Moeaki was simply using the minicamp as an effort to try out and be noticed by someone on the
Bears coaching staff. With the bears wanting to add strength to the position, giving Moeaki the last
spot on the 90 man roster appeared to be a wise decision.
After being drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 3rd round of the 2010 draft, Chicago will be
the 5th team that Moeaki has been a part of. His most productive season to this point in his
career has been his rookie season when he accumulated 556 yards on 47 receptions. He also was
able to find the end zone on three occasions throughout his rookie season. Because of his history of
injuries, Tony has not been given much of a chance by reporters to make the Bears final 53 man

Metaphor Criticism Of Princess Diana By Elton John
Countries have been known for what they might particularly stand for. Some might also be
known for those that stand for the nation itself. For the country of England, Lady Diana Frances
Spencer was vastly known for her constant engagement in the kingdom s social issues. She was a
child activist and was quite popular in media due to societies fascination with English royalty.
Princess Diana used this to her advantage and, she devoted herself to her sons [Prince William
and Prince Harry] and to such charitable efforts as the battle against the use of land mines (Diana,
2014). Her life in mainstream media helped to have her be heard beyond the boarders of England

I will discuss through Metaphor criticism that the rhetor, Elton John, conceptualizes Princess Diana
to the audience through his lyrics in what she symbolically stood as, who she was as a person and
how she impacted numerous lives. In particular, I explore the question of how the close relationship
between the media and the princess created a realistic friendship between those of the common
media audience and the royal Diana. John successfully strengthens the diverse audience s express of
grief personally for the princess even though they might not have known her directly, such as Elton
John. Now that I have provided background regarding the reasoning and origin of the song, I turn
my attention towards the explanation regarding a description and the procedures of Metaphor
criticism.
Metaphoric criticism is a comparison of two items that suggest a resemblance. Through this use
of language it can help to enliven ordinary language. Through this is can also help an audience
visualize certain ideas. (Blair, 2014). Yet, through a rhetorical perspective, metaphors are now
seen as a large means for the creation of reality. Metaphor is a basic way by which the process of
using symbols to construct reality occurs (Foss, 2009, p. 268). There are two major parts of a
metaphor, the tenor and the vehicle. The tenor is known as the topic or the subject, and the vehicle
is the mechanism or rather the lens viewing for the target.

Government funded elementary schools and high schools generally offer students a high quality
of education. Then comes post secondary, Vancouver is home to two of the most prestigious
universities in Canada and are even well known around the world. These include UBC

wide variety of programs with over 400 programs available (MyBlueprint). The city also offers a
number of apprenticeship opportunities for automotive service technicians, auto body workers,
blacksmiths, and carpenters, to name a few. Leading on from post secondary is employment.
Vancouver has the lowest unemployment rate in Canada at 5.3% (Statistics Canada), which is
really great since it increases the chances of getting a job after postsecondary. Vancouver s port

Collage Attendance
Some students in collage they think the attendance it is not important. In fact, the attendance in
collage is big issue because some students there are don t come to class. Some teachers don t put the
attendance in grade and the students don t come because don t have grade. The attendance
important for some studentwho want to higher gpa. Should attendance in classes be mandatory in
collage for many reasons. Such as, to learn new knowledge and how want to complete their study in
high level. The first reason is why attendance in class be mandatory because to learn new
knowledge and different subject. Students who study scientific they not necessary they take only
scientific they can take anything. For example, students who their major accounting they can take
sociology or history to know about new knowledge and they know more about the different

because some teacher put the grade like a bonus for us. In conclusion, students should come to
classes every day to know about their subject and take a high degree. The degree with a high
grade is a very good for their future. I suggest students to come to their classes even to no be a
problem with their parents. When the students don t come to classes and take a FA or F their gpa

The New Command That Christ Gave The 11 Remaining...
This morning, we considered the new command that Christ gave the 11 remaining disciples.
But they can t focus on that.
They are bewildered because Christ is going away.
They are confused and Peter speaks up perhaps for the whole group...
And this is where we come to our text this evening:
John 13:36 38
36 Simon Peter said to Him, Lord, where are You going?
Jesus answered him, Where I am going you cannot follow Me now, but you shall follow Me
afterward.
37 Peter said to Him, Lord, why can I not follow You now? I will lay down my life for Your sake.
38 Jesus answered him, Will you lay down your life for My sake? Most assuredly, I say to you, the
rooster shall not crow till you have denied Me three times.
It s almost as if Peter didn t hear the NEW command.
But can we blame him?
His Beloved Master has just said, I am going away and you can t come.
I m going and you re staying.
Peter s mind is occupied; and He missed the command to love one another.
Peter, probably similar to the Jews in chapter 7 and 8 who said where is He going that we can t find
Him? Will He go among the dispersion?
Peter was probably thinking geographically Why can t I follow you?
The other disciples seem to have missed it too they are just slower to respond.
Thomas in ch. 14 will say, Lord, where are you going and how can we know the way?
Jesus takes up the distraction and speaks with His little children tenderly.
But He will come back to the vital command to love a few chapters later in

Web Design Memo
The purpose of this memo is to communicate my efforts and process associated with writing the
final assignment.
Motivation Behind Topic
When considering mechanisms and processes to write a proposal about, the one idea that came to
my mind was ENGL 313, Rhetorical Website Design. As a former student in that course, who was
uninformed the class involved coding, I wanted to make the subject easier for future students. I
chose to stick with the topic for the technical description because I genuinely think the small
recommendations I offered will help students tremendously. I wanted to make the experience better
so participants can be enthusiastic about web design. I wrote with my perspective in mind,
reflecting how I would have benefited from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That being said, I took on all the challenging aspects of this course. The most difficult part of
writing the technical description was using appropriate language to speak towards my educated
audience. For example, choosing whether or not to write a definition, or writing an extension of a
technical definition. I also wanted to convey to the audience I was also well educated in the
material I was discussing. I had to find a balance in the language I spoke, which proved to be
difficult.
Another struggle was writing learning objectives. I had to research various sources about the reason
for them, how to write them effectively, and the levels of thinking that can addressed. I had to shift
my mindset from a student to a teacher. I thought, what are top three outcomes I want my students
to achieve by the end of the week.
Successes
While writing learning objectives was a difficult task, I also found enjoyment out of the process. I
delighted in writing realistic expectations that students could visualize for the week. The section I
am most proud of is Step 6: Constructing Unit Plan. In this area, all of the steps came to life and
put into practice. I reviewed the current class schedule and made adjustments based on what I
observed. I evaluated previous class schedules and took elements that provided the clearest
communication. I compiled those features and constructed the unit

Tort Law Cases Essay
Presented are four separate cases that have been argued and settled in a court of law. Each of these
cases represent a different kind of tort, a tort is a civil wrong or wrongful act, which can be either
intentional or accidental, from which injury occurs to another (Hill Hill n.d.). The torts are as
listed, intentional, criminal, negligence, and liability as presented in the four researched cases.
State Rubbish Collectors Ass n v. Siliznoff When a person violates another person s legal rights
deliberately it is considered an intentional tort (Mayer et al. n.d.). Intentional torts are when
someone is assaulting someone, trespassing on a person private property, false imprisonment of an

The association was held liable for the damages that stemmed from the emotional distress of the
defendant. The plaintiff had caused the defendant to suffer such extreme fright that it compelled
him to either give up the Acme account he had been working in the service area and give to the
State Rubbish Collectors Association back payment or the defendant had to become a member with
the association and pay dues.
The courts ruled that the plaintiff had not right to use such coercive methods when competing for
business and the liability was clear in this circumstance. The defendant was awarded $1250.00 by
the plaintiff for compensatory damages and $4000.00 was awarded by the association for
exemplary damages. Plaintiff attempted to appeal stating the awarded amount was excessive; the
courts ruled that the amount awarded was not excessive and denied the appeal from the plaintiff.
No dissenting opinion was made.
People v. Watson Someone commits a wrongful act and someone is the victim is considered a
crime. The charge is against the defendant and if found to be responsible for the crime the
defendant serves a sentence and pays a fine to the government and possible restitution is paid to
the victim of the crime. The case presented is an example of a person who is accused of a crime.

a significant financial investment, fierce competition, manufacturing limitations, and potential

of cosmetic benefits. If the classical or Plus offering can take care of their needs they would not

market share in this segment.
Uninvolved Brushers: Consumers in this category are basically indifferent to the advantages of
one brand or class over the other. Their primary decision maker for a toothbrush is the convenience
to acquire one. The two decision makers that determine their purchase are the ease of availability
and most attractive price. The plus will be the obvious choice for most of the brushers in this
market segment, but in time, Precision will attract them, with specials and stock outs of other

Positive: By targeting the Therapeutic brushers CP would be able to:

Differentiate the Precision toothbrush from other toothbrushes, because of its technological
superiority over the other toothbrushes on the market
Maintain its level of SKU because it would be going after a different niche
Reduce the losses of Precision if cost were to decrease if it were not successful.
Negative:
Maintain its current level of sales in mass merchandiser
CP s retail sales would be less than if mainstream

Play Doh Essay
Clay is a certain type of ground, created by weathered and deposited rocks. When sent to sell,
minerals and other problematic things are removed. On the other hand, sand may be added perfect
it. Clay used to create art is called modeling clay. Modeling clay may be used for pottery or just
plain sculpting. To continue, there are actually many types of claythan just regular. Types of clay
include polymer, air dry, oil based, water based, and ceramicclays. In my experiment I will be using
Play Doh and air dry clay. Many characteristics contribute to the creation and structure of Play Doh.
These main ingredients include water and salt. The salt dissolves most of the water in clay, so it
doesn t make the clay too spongy. This modeling dough is composed of water, starch based binder,
salt, lubricant, surfactant, preservative, hardener, humectant, fragrance, food coloring, and wheat.
Water, starch based binder, and salt create the clay itself. The rest of the ingredients help the
mixture, adding specific characteristics. Lubricant, preservative, and humectant helps make the
dough stay fresh. Hardener obviously allows the clay to stay solid without getting slushy again.
Fragrance and food coloring adds to the clay itself, making it... Show more content on

In fact, as clay begins to dry the piece will shrink because of the water evaporating. The particles
inside will compact together as it hardens. If the drying is considered uneven , for example one
part dries faster than the other, the clay might crack. If one clay s particle sizes are smaller than
another s, it will shrink more. This is because all the small particles are now far apart so they have
to cover more space in order to make up for all the missing spots. However, large particles can
cover spaces easily since they have less open areas to cover. To conclude, both clays may be

of the few wealthy Chinese business owners, indigenous Indonesians felt that the Chinese people

Criminal Activities And Its Effect On Society
Criminal activities have always been a problem within society and has been becoming a bigger
problem as time goes by. Over the years crimes have been getting more violent and more
common. Gangs have always been involved in some type of criminal activity since being created,
has gotten worse over time and has hurt society in one way or another. All gangs have a history of
crimebehind them. Hispanic Gangs turned dangerous gangfights to ruthless gang wars, White gangs
have become racist groups that hold on to what society has moved on from, and African American
Gangs have went from committing unorganized crimes to huge organized groups like the Cripsand
the Bloods. All of these groups have had a violent past that led to them getting the point of
aggression that they are at today and their effect on society. It cannot be argued that gangs have
not started off to doing some type of criminal activity. The definition of a gang is a group of
individuals, either organized or unorganized, that are involved in criminal activities. The reason
gangs are so deadly and dangerous is because any individual that joins a gang has a need that
they want met may it be money, safety, or power. Most gangs target individuals between the ages
14 to 24 the most as they are the most physically fit and easier to manipulate to do someone s
bidding. When a young individual joins a gang, it is more than likely that they are filled with anger

To analyze this case, the analyst conducted liquidity, solvency and profitability ratios for CafГ©s

ROE. Further, it is the opinion of the analyst that the firm should abandon private label brands and
market its own premium brand; thereby leveraging its industry reputation as a fine purveyor of

Since an ROE of 21.48% equals the product of 4.41% and 4.87 (ROA and Equity Multiplier), it
indicates that the firm is able to achieve such high ROE only through a high financial leverage.
Strategic Action for Cafes Monte Bianco: Assuming that they will be able to sell all produced
capacity, with 0% advertising, and with a 6,000,000 kg annual capacity [Exhibit 2 in case],
CMB should be able to generate revenues of 178,322,200,000 liras (Scenario 2). With resulting
COGS of 114,954,330,000 liras and other expenses, they should still be able to generate a Net
Income of 28,732,818,000 liras. Alternatively, if the company spent the equivalent of 10% of
sales on advertising, revenues will increase to 215.62 billion lira, and net profit to 25 billion lira.
So the company may be better off not advertising, at 0% (Scenario 3).
Pursuing Dino s Production Plan for only Private Brand (Scenario 1) will result in annual
revenues of just 52.8 billion liras, COGS of 42.91 billion liras and even with reduced advertising
and selling expenses, a resulting net loss of 1,138,659,000 liras, before taxes. This is clearly not a
viable strategy. Since the firm utilized only 39.13% of installed plant capacity in year 2000, they
clearly need to increase revenues and profit margins by pursuing their own premium brand, instead
of pursuing private label brands with higher volumes, but much lower profit margins, and an

Consequently, former incarcerated individuals will become in danger of remaining a permanent
lower class because they have many limitations on the type of jobs that will be available to
them, which mostly pays minimum wages. To make matters worse, many former incarcerated
individuals do not obtain much education, which will diminish their ability of facing the
challenges of 21st century workforce and reduce any chance for a high quality of life. Many
inmates may possibly entered prison without obtaining any high school credentials, which could
be one of the reasons that recidivism remains prominent. Three quarters of state prison inmates
are dropouts, as are 59% of federal inmates. In fact, dropouts are 3.5 times more likely than high
school graduates to be incarcerated in their lifetime (AYPF). Many of these prisoners may have
been incarcerated for a long period of time; consequently, causing their skills to become more

development of technology, scientific, and medical programs may not be as prominent and
sophisticated as it was before their arrest, especially since United States just recently proposed
implementing 21st century courses in secondary institutions. State prisoners average a tenth grade

The Candide By William Shakespeare
Candide In 1 Corinthians of the Bible it is said that, Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy,
it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self seeking, it is not easily
angered, it keeps no record of wrongs (NIV, 1 Cor 13 4 5). However, this is not always the case, love
can be: afflicting, painful, and self involved. When this is the case, one must ask: is this really

humankind, hinders exceptional logic, and prevents happiness.
If not for Cunegonde, Candide would have been a better man and not have killed anyone in

Bowery during the 1890s is depicted. Maggie, Jimmie, Mary, and Pete all have different means
of temporarily escaping the challenges they face. Alcohol, apathy, entertainment, denial, violence,
and blame are some of the forms of escapism they rely on. Throughout Maggie, each character s
methods of escapism correlate to his or her ability to survive life in the Bowery. Pete is
constantly seeking the best opportunity for himself. He begins to talk to Maggie because she is
one of the prettiest girls in the Bowery, and easy to win over. However, when Nellie returns and
begins to show interest in Pete, he immediately leaves Maggie for the more appealing woman. This
prompt dismissal of Maggie shows that Pete is apathetic and uninterested in assisting others with
their plights. Pete s selfish attitude allows him to gain exactly what he desires in any situation that
may arise.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a truck driver, he takes pleasure in running people over, and often initiates fights with family
members and enemies, such as Pete. Most of the fights Jimmie partakes in do not have a clear
victor because the fight was broken up or both parties were injured. It is a selfish act, only hurting
all members involved in the fights. Jimmie gains nothing from the fights. Because they always end
in a draw, Jimmie s social standing is not affected. The fights solely serve the purpose of allowing
Jimmie to release his aggression and hatred for the circumstances he has been dealt, without any

2016 17
INTRODUCTION:
John Rawls developed a conception of justice as fairness in his classic work A Theory of Justice.
Using elements of both Kantian and utilitarian philosophy, he has described a method for the moral
evaluation of social and political institutions.
He proposes to revise few concepts of social contract developed by writers like John Locke, Jean
Jacques Rousseau and Immanuel Kant and thus developing theory of justice. John Locke believes
free consent of those being governed and the contract between governor and them to be the source
of political authority. He wants to take this concept to higher level ... Show more content on

It is designed to be a fair and impartial position where fundamental principles of justice are decided
in unbiased manner. In taking up this point of view, we have to imagine ourselves as free and equal
people who committed themselves to the principles of social justice. The main distinguishing
feature of the original position is the veil of ignorance. In order to obtain an unbiased judgment,
the parties are deprived of all knowledge of their personal characteristics and social and historical
circumstances. They are unaware of their personal interests and inclinations, along with general
facts about psychology, economics, biology, and of various social sciences. The parties in the
original position are presented with a list of the main conceptions of justice influenced by the
tradition of social and political philosophy, and are asked to choose the best alternative among those
interests in establishing conditions that facilitate them to effectively pursue their final ends and

Author
Weihang Wu and Tim Kelly
Article Summary:
The article highlights an approach to software architecture designed for safety related systems. It
talks about the importance of safety strategy in software architecture design. It addresses three
issues to improve the architecture designs for safety related systems.
Design Techniques: There have been a lot of advancements in software designtechniques. There are
many design techniques available but choosing the right for the system is absolute critical.
Therefore this approach fails in demonstrating which design technique needs to be chosen to
increase the protection against failures.
Architectural Patterns: Architectural Patterns or styles consist of components and connectors,
which connect these components based on a set of restrictions, which describe how the components
of a particular kind can be connected. There are a lot of architectural patterns available, which
display different safety patterns. It is recommended to understand the basic design patterns and for
creating a good architecture.
Safety Analysis: There are a number of safety analysis techniques for software design, but there has
been very little analysis on architectural level to support software architecture design. Therefore a
safety analysis approach is needed for software with hardware to characterize the architectural
elements at various architectural levels.
The article talks about strategic tactic to address the above three issues which

The Changing Roles and Experiences of Probation Officers
Introduction
According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, there were over 4 million adults on probation in the
United States in 2010. Today more and more agencies have shifted from simply monitoring an
offender s compliance to using evidenced based practices to reduce recidivism rates. The intense
involvement with offenders caused by this shift exposes officers to many new stressors that
previously did not exist. A recent study by Kirsten R. Lewis, M.Ed., Ladonna S. Lewis, Ph.D., and
Tina M. Garby, Psy.D., examined whether specific caseload events are associated with stressand
burnout among this career specialty using various survey instruments. The results confirmed 2 of
their hypothesis that officers who reported violent and sexual recidivism on their caseloads,
offender suicide, and threats and/or assaults in the line of duty scored significantly higher on
measures of traumatic stress and burnout... Length of service was also a contributing factor. The
authors report of job stress on probation officers is applicable to any human service professional
and especially supervisors, managers and administrators who have the capacity to make
meaningful change by creating training programs and establishing ways to deal with the negative
caseload events. The small study sample limited reliability of the results and more data is needed
to assess the overall problem. Ms. K. R. Lewis is a probation officer with the Maricopa County
Adult Probation Department and is an adjunct

Uk Tax System

Tax in simple terms refers to the government raising money to spend on public services which
includes health and social security system and education. Tax levied on a number of goods and
services in the form of Value Added Tax (VAT), such as income tax on the money we earn. Tax can
also be imposed on various transactions i.e. inheritance and profits from selling homes or antiques.
The tax system is a complicated procedure.

and regulations with regards to UK registered companies. It will also discuss the process in which

What may not be written down at all would be expenditure on commercial buildings and hotel,
although fixtures and fittings which are integral in buildings can be noted on a 10% straight line
basis. This is forecasted to fall by 8% in 2012 13
Intangible assets expenditure is also is written down on a straight line basis with a depreciation rate
of 4% or at the discretion of the company.
However Capital expenditure on plant, machinery and buildings for research and development (R
D), under the R D allowance, can all be written off against taxable profits straightaway.
In the recent budget relating to the tax year 2011/12 the corporation tax is to be cut by 2% from
April and will fall by 1% in each of the next three years to reach 23%. Corporation tax is a tax
which is remunerated by limited companies. The tax is charged on the profits of the company. As
mentioned previously, corporation tax consists of two types of profits/gains incurred by trading and
investments etc. Dividends income is not included as part of corporation tax, it is taxed differently.
This evidently can create alterations within the firms involved. Therefore any limited company
which is making profit in the taxable year 2011 2012 must legally pay tax on the profits generated
on their trading and investments. Subsequently this would

Speech On Importance Of Cosmetics
Importance of cosmetics
Cosmetics have been in use since ages for reconstructing the appearance of the person wearing
them. Beauty cosmetics can build a drastic change in a person s features, as they improve the best
features and cover the blemishes. People use creams and lotions to cleanse the skin deeply. This is
not possible with water and regular soap . Deep cleansing removes other underlying pollutants and
opens the skin pores . Blocked pores lead to the formation of acne and beauty cosmetics prevent this
from occurring. At the same time, we cannot remove some blemishes so easily. Dark spots and
Blemishes are very common on most people s skin. The use of makeup, such as a better concealer
can effectively cover up the flaw. This results in a skin, which looks... Show more content on

The Existence Of God In The Last Question
The existence of God is a topic that humanity has wrestled with since perhaps the beginning. The
view of God from various cultures and civilizations differs in a sense, but remains true to the entity
of what it means to be a deity. Each culture throughout history has been able to put their spin on
what it means to be a god, whether it be in the form of Zeus for the Greeks, Mars for the Romans,
or Brahma for the Hindus. However, among each of these cultures a god is still a divine being
capable of powers beyond the reach of the humanand mortal dimension. In The Last Question,
Isaac Asimov illuminates a unique perspective on what it is to be a god, human relationship to
God, and the form a god can take. In the short science fiction, a super computer... Show more

Multivac comes to an answer of the last question even with no man to whom AC might give the
answer of the last question and finally says LET THERE BE LIGHT! creating light, and
essentially creating the universe. This allusion is drawn from the bible in the context of the
origin of creation. Here, Multivac takes on the mantle of God and demonstrates its full might to
recreate the universe as it once was. Creating order in the previously chaotic universe would
only be feasible under the power of divine influence for it is a law of the universe itself that
chaos shall trump order. This demonstrates power that transcends the universe and dimensions of
man, and that because Multivac has this boundless influence, Multivac is therefore a God.
While Multivac is God by its traits, being God also requires being God to something. If a god is to
be divine and transcend limitations in a domain, there must be a domain to transcend. In this set
of logic I believe that a god is not only defined by form, power, and knowledge, but also by
relationship. To be a god over man, you must be a god of

The Science behind War
The science behind War As we all know war has been amongst us since time ever began. It has
been around when the first creatures were developed and learned how to survive. And as humans
evolved over the centuries, we came to realize this theory we call war is actually a natural thing.
And we then classified it as violenceor as the survival of the fittest. And now in modern thinking
and technology, we are now able to find how the human mind came up with an idea such as
violence. How humans first used violence for survival then it turned into strategies then from there
came with the inventions of weapons. Firstly what is violence that causes things as war? Violence
comes in the amydola, a part in the brain that deals with emotions. It is what gives you the urge
to do something in that quarter of a second between the event and the response. This at the same
time causes increases blood flow to the frontal lobe, that part of the brain is over the left eye, this
area controls reasoning. The blood flow and reasoning balance each other out, this is what makes
you think twice before throwing something or hurting somebody. Our brains when angered
quickly translates complex information into simple right or wrong terms. Evolution is the key to
violence and war. The first recorded war occurred in 2700 B.C. it was between Sumer (modern
Iran) and Elam (also Iran) fought in an area around Basra (Iran Iraq). There have been fighting for
thousands of years before that, it

the Barbarous, uncultivated and inhumane descriptions of the indigenous by previous Spaniards.
He also describes the horrors the Spaniards did in the new world. His main example is the island
Hispaniola. He observes how the Spaniards started their first ravages and oppressions in the
island. The Spaniards killed, tortured, and destroyed the native people with the most varied
methods of cruelty. He tells how they dealt with the chieftains that rebelled they hanged them
when their feet almost touched the ground in groups of thirteen (as Jesus and his apostles) and set
burning wood underneath them burning them alive. To date, these shocking acts reverberate
around the world as example of the Spaniards. But obviously Casas s stance was opposite to the
Spaniards. The Spaniards saw themselves as rescuers of those barbarian natives . They saw
themselves as the greatest nation that came to the new world to save those indigenous from their
kings and devilish beliefs ant that their only goal was to spread the Catholic faith through the
indigenous people. So why the spreading of the Pure Christianity included Massacres of man,

Steps Into The World Of Virtual Reality
Blog 4 SlotsMillion steps into the world of virtual reality
It is a concept that has been discussed in one form or another since the 1980s. Virtual reality (VR)
is something that various industry sectors have looked to innovate, but few outside of the video
game industry have managed to do such. In fact, most virtual reality products have fallen flat on
their face. Looking to learn lessons from past misgivings, SlotsMillion are now looking to bring
online casino players a dose of virtual reality.
VR in many ways is considered to be the next logical step for the online casino industry. Largely as
through the current flat platform there is little else that can be done outside what already has been
achieved. The live casino concept does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through the Oculus Rift you will be able to navigate through the casino, with your actions
occurring through a handheld controller or keypad. The entire setup has been developed with
innovation and ease of use in mind and it definitely shows. Obviously, given the infancy of the
idea, the game selection is somewhat limited. But even though that s the case there are still over 40
titles on hand to members including Starburst, Go Bananas, Dracula Steam Tower, Gonzo s Quest,
Magic Portals, and a few other select games. All things considered, the game selection features
various mainstream classics with many major new names set to be added in the months to come.
360 Degree Entertainment
It started with 2D animated online games back in the late 1990s and it has all grown from there.
Through 3D games and live casino games, we have reached a point where an online casino can
now through VR provide players with true 360 degree entrainment. When a player visits
SlotsMillion through an Oculus Rift headset they will be transported to a realm that is brimming
with interactivity. Players can freely move and look around as they wish and are able to interact
with the game in front of them. All games have been a given a 3D refresh too to make sure they
look the part when viewed through a VR headset. SlotsMillion are truly striking new ground with
their latest innovation and it could present the start of a new era in online casino gaming.

It is an argument we teach our children not to make; because one does something wrong, it is
okay for you do to do it too. The double standard begins when one political party looses power and
becomes the minority and when the new majority power is accused of performing the same
underhanded tactics as they had previously committed.
Arguments about wasteful spending and pork barrel politics are prime examples of slanted,
hyperbolic, rhetorical devices, designed intended to describe an undesirable behavior of the
opposition. Of course, wasteful spending and pork barrel politics can be quite subjective as a
claim (p.508) depending on the speaker and the agenda. The same logic of the double standard
applied to them is now downplayed and euphemized with attempts at redirecting the argument to a
fallacy of composition (p.53) in that what they accused their opposition of was right for them to do
because their intent was righteous and good for America , therefore not wasteful spending. This is
also an argument involving nationalism, invoking the well being of the country with the
assumption that by doing so, their argument will automatically be accepted. (Moore Parker, 2007,
pp.53, 175).

The Budget Of The Federal Budget
Summary
The federal budget has been of much concern in the past decade. The public is growing
increasingly aware of the growing federal debt but nobody is offering solutions to our country s
deficit spending. Thus the public is uniformed about how much money is spent on certain
programs such as Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. In Red Ink, David Wessel offers a
comprehensive view about what consists of the federal budget, how the government receives
revenues, and how the government spends this money. The book begins by summarizing the
federal budget. Wessel starts by headlining that the U.S government is spending an
incomprehensible 400 million dollars an hour, more than $30,000 per American household (Wessel
20). To add to this outstanding figure, almost two thirds of this is classified as mandatory spending
which means that Congress doesn t decide on a year to year basis whether to approve the
expenditures. Throughout the book, Wessel reminds the reader that most of the federal budget is
set in stone and that in order to eliminate deficits, substantial spending cuts or tax increases are
necessary
Wessel spends a big portion of the book explaining how Social Security really works: the system
depends on the current working generation to support today s retirees (Wessel 86). He states that
the country will face the biggest Social Security expenditures in the next several years when the
baby boomers will entire retirement. On the other hand, the defense budget is

  • 2. The Effects Of Lowering And Raising Interest Rates introduction this report is going to discuss the money market and how interest rates are determined, it will then look at the effects of lowering and raising interest rates and the limitations of these effects. the money market is a section of the financial market where short term loans and financial instruments are traded, for example these could be short term loans between banks with the debt maturing in less than a year. This gives banks, lenders and other borrowers the ability to satisfy their short term financial needs. Finance Development, June 2012, Vol. 49, No. 2, Randall Dodd Explaining how interest rates are determined by the money market once the government has set targets and objectives, it is up to the policy makers to use the tools available in order to meet these objectives. these levers are made up using fiscal and monetary policy tools. The tools used in the fiscal policy is the use of taxation in order to control public spending, which can affect aggregate demand. When taxes are lower individuals and business will be able to keep more of what they earn, causing better cash flow in the economy and increasing consumer spending ans confidence. This will also be more of an incentive for individuals to seek work including workers from other countries in the EU, as they can keep more of what they earn as take home pay, this will cause a rise in employment, improving the efficiency of the country. When taxes are high this will generally work in the opposite ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Civic Engagement Survey Regarding the Stanford Pathways of Public Service and Civic Engagement survey, I have mixed feelings. Although I agree with my results and have minimal difficulty in making sense of my results, I feel that the information is not in depth enough to truly be extremely helpful. My results personally show that I have had the most experience with activisim as a form of public service/civic engagement. I have some experience with all of the kinds of public service/civic engagement, except for social entrepreneurship. This can largely be accounted by the fact that I grew up in a rural area and rarely went into town, which meant my interactions with business have always been limited. I also simply do not think that I would be quite effective in helping my community through this specific field. Ultimately, the actions which I find most useful in help are direct and policy, the first of which I intend on pursuing more in college than I did previously; the latter I intend to pursue to a similar degree as in high school. Regarding the impact section, the results jumped dramatically from a lot, to some, to little, to none. I wish that, as opposed to this type of system, our responses could have been measured on a numeric scale, which enables more grey area. I would like to rank things because I feel that all of these things have different degrees of impact, different degrees of which I want to partake in them, etc.; however, I am not given the option to truly rank them like this. Not only are there some things that I think might have an impact somewhere between little and some, but there are also some things tha I would like to simply attempt in school. • 4. Examples Of Discovery In Hamlet The play Hamlet presents Hamlet s path, his self discovery. He is questioning his identity and struggling with his life after his father died, his mother married his uncle Claudius and the big pressure is on him to accept Claudius as the new king and also his new father. He is still mourning his real father, he wears only black clothing and he considers his mother s marriage to be unnatural and sinful. He cannot cope with these things, he does not know who he is anymore and does not see the political side of his mother s marriage. He starts acting mad, and the only time when he is truly sincere is in his soliloquies where he struggles with life. His fake madness is called antic disposition. It is called an oedipal complex after the Greek myth in which Oedipus kills his father and marries his mother. There are some critics that say that Hamlet s oedipal complex is explanation for everything he does in the play, the way he is acting and the main reason why he cannot revenge his father immediately. Hamlet s relationship with Ophelia is another example. She is different than Gertrude and Hamlet wants his mother to be jealous. Hamlet s sexual desire for his mother, according to critics, is the reason why he cannot revenge his father. Only when Gertrude dies Hamlet kills Claudius. But Hamlet was written when Freud had not been born and his theory about oedipal complex cannot be applied to Hamlet. It is not likely that Shakespeare knew about this complex while he was writing Hamlet. Hamlet was not in love with his mother, he was just acting mad because of his father s death, his mother s marriage and the appearance of the ghost. These events made him feel alone and confused and in a state of constant thinking, it took him a long time to finally start acting and revenge his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These events all occurred prior to 1957 and have somehow contributed to the integration of schools in the United States, including Central High. While searching through the internet I found several websites that contained timelines and archives of that era. This content shed light on the effects of segregation and the causes of integration. One thing that the sources did not cover is if similar situations are occurring today. My goal of this paper is to analyze the causes of the integration of Central High and determine if the knowledge of integration can help us resolve or prevent current world problems. I will... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As for the ratification of the 14th amendment, it is a political factor that changed the social relationships within the United States by administering a government policy. Because the south was required by the Reconstruction Act of 1867 to accept the new amendment in order to readmit to the union, they were forced to change their views of freed slaves and allow them to have equal rights. This new politically administered factor then caused the population to view each race as equals and allow them to have equal education opportunities. The Jim Crow Laws can be seen as a sociological factor because segregation is a social relation. The more they segregated themselves by race, the more their behavior and attitudes towards each other changed. As one race began to feel superior to the others, a changed had to be made. This was the basis for the Civil Rights Movement. Meanwhile, the Brown vs. Board case can be interpreted as a cultural factor. A community came together to justify what they believed was a right and just principle. Just as Mr. Brown once said culture exists in order to project the infantile fantasies into external reality, where they may be seen and mastered (Brown). Gun control should only be for criminals they should not take guns away from innocent people. Criminals should not be allowed to carry guns in public as protection because they may harm others, use it for illegal purposes, and with no federal law. Also, by citing this amendment the supreme court had upheld the right of states to govern firearms (Masters). In 2008, the decisions were confirmed that an individual right to keep and bear arms, had outlawed handguns and to lock them in their homes and for them to be disassembled in Washington, D.C. Another problem is the laws of carrying guns vary enormously (Volokh). The case was basically about reading the criminal state and made sure that the criminal will not go to prison unless the government proves the requirements (Volokh). Gorsuch and his associates argued that the 10th circuit should have turned the decision that failed around earlier (Volokh). A felon can regain his gunrights under federal law if the state where he got convicted restores four things (Volokh). the first and second ones are his gun rights under state law their right to vote (Volokh). The third and fourth ones are the felons right to serve on a jury their right to hold office (Volokh). Lastly, no criminals should be allowed to carry guns as protection in public. Gun control should only apply to criminals who have used guns as a weapon. One reason that criminals should not be allowed is because they used it to harm another person. Also, a few others would be that they used it illegally or there is no federal law. Of course they have certain restrictions on felons or criminals who have used guns as to harm ... Undoubtedly those who survived the initial effects of the blast were very lucky. The amount of deaths caused by the blast itself was incomparable to the number of lives lost to the other effects after the initial explosion ( Summary of Damages and Injuries 3). It allows for the range of motion needed for the activities of daily living that we have all grown accustomed to. In order to execute these motions, however, the shoulder joint needs a stable base of support. This is one of the primary roles of the scapula and its surrounding musculature. When the GH joint is injured, however, scapular muscleactivation, and therefore stability and function, is theoretically altered. Many shoulderrehabilitation programs focus on restoring proper coordination of these muscles, especially those involved with scapular upward rotation. Until recently, however, there has not been much research supporting the relationship between muscle activation ratios and shoulder injuries, nor the ability to preferentially activate scapular muscles using rehabilitation exercises. Furthermore, the purpose of this study was to determine if there are differences in muscle activation ratios between healthy individuals and those with GH injuries, as well as evaluate muscle activation during particular rehabilitation exercises (Moeller, Huxel Bliven, Snyder Valier, 2014). As Gore Vidal once stated, they prefer laissez faire economics over laissez faire values. In addition, the Republican Party is generally the most vocal with supporting states rights in hopes of reducing wasteful federal government spending, except in the case where states have legalized medical or recreational marijuana. Very few within the Democratic Partyhave displayed the political courage to challenge the drug war even though most of their political base would support them. In fact, many Democrats have used the drug war as a political bargaining chip. Some others have even used the drug war to try to out conservative the conservatives. That was exactly the case with the Clinton administration. Many people assumed that Bill Clinton s deflection of his prior drug ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 19. Zachary Miller Case Study Despite Zach Miller becoming a favorite target for Cutler last season, Chicago has a lot of answered questions remaining at the tight end position. As this week s minicamp practices come to an end, the bears have added Tony Moeaki to their 90 man roster. Moeaki was simply using the minicamp as an effort to try out and be noticed by someone on the Bears coaching staff. With the bears wanting to add strength to the position, giving Moeaki the last spot on the 90 man roster appeared to be a wise decision. After being drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 3rd round of the 2010 draft, Chicago will be the 5th team that Moeaki has been a part of. His most productive season to this point in his career has been his rookie season when he accumulated 556 yards on 47 receptions. He also was able to find the end zone on three occasions throughout his rookie season. Because of his history of injuries, Tony has not been given much of a chance by reporters to make the Bears final 53 man roster. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For the country of England, Lady Diana Frances Spencer was vastly known for her constant engagement in the kingdom s social issues. She was a child activist and was quite popular in media due to societies fascination with English royalty. Princess Diana used this to her advantage and, she devoted herself to her sons [Prince William and Prince Harry] and to such charitable efforts as the battle against the use of land mines (Diana, 2014). Her life in mainstream media helped to have her be heard beyond the boarders of England and she became an icon to the world for her gracious poise and outreach to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I will discuss through Metaphor criticism that the rhetor, Elton John, conceptualizes Princess Diana to the audience through his lyrics in what she symbolically stood as, who she was as a person and how she impacted numerous lives. In particular, I explore the question of how the close relationship between the media and the princess created a realistic friendship between those of the common media audience and the royal Diana. John successfully strengthens the diverse audience s express of grief personally for the princess even though they might not have known her directly, such as Elton John. Now that I have provided background regarding the reasoning and origin of the song, I turn my attention towards the explanation regarding a description and the procedures of Metaphor criticism. Metaphoric criticism is a comparison of two items that suggest a resemblance. Through this use of language it can help to enliven ordinary language. Through this is can also help an audience visualize certain ideas. (Blair, 2014). Yet, through a rhetorical perspective, metaphors are now seen as a large means for the creation of reality. Metaphor is a basic way by which the process of using symbols to construct reality occurs (Foss, 2009, p. 268). There are two major parts of a metaphor, the tenor and the vehicle. The tenor is known as the topic or the subject, and the vehicle is the mechanism or rather the lens viewing for the target. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They are bewildered because Christ is going away. They are confused and Peter speaks up perhaps for the whole group... And this is where we come to our text this evening: John 13:36 38 36 Simon Peter said to Him, Lord, where are You going? Jesus answered him, Where I am going you cannot follow Me now, but you shall follow Me afterward. 37 Peter said to Him, Lord, why can I not follow You now? I will lay down my life for Your sake. 38 Jesus answered him, Will you lay down your life for My sake? Most assuredly, I say to you, the rooster shall not crow till you have denied Me three times. Will He go among the dispersion? Peter was probably thinking geographically Why can t I follow you? The other disciples seem to have missed it too they are just slower to respond. I also wanted to convey to the audience I was also well educated in the material I was discussing. I had to find a balance in the language I spoke, which proved to be difficult. Another struggle was writing learning objectives. I had to research various sources about the reason for them, how to write them effectively, and the levels of thinking that can addressed. I had to shift my mindset from a student to a teacher. I thought, what are top three outcomes I want my students to achieve by the end of the week. Successes While writing learning objectives was a difficult task, I also found enjoyment out of the process. I delighted in writing realistic expectations that students could visualize for the week. • 38. The Candide By William Shakespeare Candide In 1 Corinthians of the Bible it is said that, Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs (NIV, 1 Cor 13 4 5). However, this is not always the case, love can be: afflicting, painful, and self involved. When this is the case, one must ask: is this really love? book of Candideis based on a love story between a man named, Candide, and a woman, Cunegonde. Maggie, Jimmie, Mary, and Pete all have different means of temporarily escaping the challenges they face. Alcohol, apathy, entertainment, denial, violence, and blame are some of the forms of escapism they rely on. Throughout Maggie, each character s methods of escapism correlate to his or her ability to survive life in the Bowery. Pete is constantly seeking the best opportunity for himself. He begins to talk to Maggie because she is one of the prettiest girls in the Bowery, and easy to win over. However, when Nellie returns and begins to show interest in Pete, he immediately leaves Maggie for the more appealing woman. However, among each of these cultures a god is still a divine being capable of powers beyond the reach of the humanand mortal dimension. It has been around when the first creatures were developed and learned how to survive. And as humans evolved over the centuries, we came to realize this theory we call war is actually a natural thing. And we then classified it as violenceor as the survival of the fittest. And now in modern thinking and technology, we are now able to find how the human mind came up with an idea such as violence. How humans first used violence for survival then it turned into strategies then from there came with the inventions of weapons. Firstly what is violence that causes things as war? Violence comes in the amydola, a part in the brain that deals with emotions. It is what gives you the urge to do something in that quarter of a second between the event and the response. This at the same time causes increases blood flow to the frontal lobe, that part of the brain is over the left eye, this area controls reasoning. The blood flow and reasoning balance each other out, this is what makes you think twice before throwing something or hurting somebody. Our brains when angered quickly translates complex information into simple right or wrong terms. Evolution is the key to violence and war. The first recorded war occurred in 2700 B.C. it was between Sumer (modern Iran) and Elam (also Iran) fought in an area around Basra (Iran Iraq). The public is growing increasingly aware of the growing federal debt but nobody is offering solutions to our country s deficit spending. Thus the public is uniformed about how much money is spent on certain programs such as Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. In Red Ink, David Wessel offers a comprehensive view about what consists of the federal budget, how the government receives revenues, and how the government spends this money. The book begins by summarizing the federal budget. Wessel starts by headlining that the U.S government is spending an incomprehensible 400 million dollars an hour, more than $30,000 per American household (Wessel 20). To add to this outstanding figure, almost two thirds of this is classified as mandatory spending which means that Congress doesn t decide on a year to year basis whether to approve the expenditures. Throughout the book, Wessel reminds the reader that most of the federal budget is set in stone and that in order to eliminate deficits, substantial spending cuts or tax increases are necessary Wessel spends a big portion of the book explaining how Social Security really works: the system depends on the current working generation to support today s retirees (Wessel 86). He states that the country will face the biggest Social Security expenditures in the next several years when the baby boomers will entire retirement. On the other hand, the defense budget is ...
