Sergey Tetyukhin is the man, who inspired me to engage in volleyball. He is the
Russian volleyball player, the owner of four Olympic medals, the champion
of the Olympic Games in London, the deserved master of sports of Russia.
Sergey was born in 1975 in the Uzbek SSR. When Tetyukhin was 17, his
family made the decision on moving to Russia. And his career as the
volleyball player began here. Unfortunately, Sergey declared a completion of
performances for a national team after the ending of the London Olympic
Games.
Sergey Tetyukhin’s parents Yuriy and Lyubov are
children's volleyball trainers and teachers in one
of the Belgorod schools. The younger brother
Oleg is a volleyball arbitrator.
Sergey is married. His wife Natalia and he
have 3 children: Ivan, Pavel and
Alexander.
His Olympic sporting achievements:
 The Olympic champion of the XXX Olympic Games in London (2012).
 The silver prize-winner of the XXVII Olympic Games in Sydney (2000).
 The bronze prize-winner of the XXVIII Olympic Games in Athens (2004).
 The bronze prize-winner of the XXIX Olympic Games in Beijing (2008).
Sergey Tetyukhin is rewarded such awards and ranks, as:
 Order of Honour (2012)
 Order of Friendship (2001)
 Medal of the order "For Merits to the Fatherland" of the I degree (2009)
 Medal of the order "For Merits to the Fatherland" of the II degree(2005)
 The deserved master of sports of Russia (1999)
 Honourable citizen of the Belgorod region (2012)
To conclude, it is necessary to tell that sport is an essential part of our life.
Everybody takes part in sport: some people go in for sports, but the majority
of them still prefer to be spectators. I often play volleyball and constantly
watch all matches with Sergey. I have gained such qualities, as discipline,
power, tendency thanks to his game.
We certainly wish our national team of bright victories on XXII Winter Olympic
games in Sochi!
