This presentation describes the story of Sergey Aleksandrov, a Russian mountaineer and athlete from Saint Petersburg. As a child, Sergey was interested in adventure sports. In 2009, he suffered a tragic accident while climbing Mount Elbrus where he lost both legs to frostbite. Despite this, Sergey's determination helped him recover and rehabilitate over 1.5 years. He went on to win bronze in powerlifting for disabled athletes in 2011 and become a two-time champion in mountain skiing in Saint Petersburg. Sergey now coaches athletics and hopes to compete in mountain skiing at the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
