2. Information about the Normal and Mutated Gene Sequence
The normal gene code for our species’s Trait 7 shows tall height or short height.
On chromosome 4 of Organism 1, there is a gene that is 527 nucleotides in length
coding for tall height.
In one of their offspring, a deletion mutation occurs and a segment of the gene
sequence is deleted. The new gene sequence codes for 3x as tall height.
Organism 1 is 5 feet, while their offspring is 15 feet tall.
Before, the sequence had 527 nucleotides. The mutated version has 500 nucleotides.
