This song marks the singer Nines' return to music after taking a break to pursue other work that paid more than music. The music video begins with smoke canisters creating a hazy effect before clearing to show Nines and his associates from his crew, Ice City Boys. Throughout the video, various camera techniques like panning and tracking shots are used to follow Nines' movements and depict his journey through different locations. It ends with a shot of Nines and his group that brings the top and bottom borders together like a closing curtain.

2. This song marks the singers (Nines) return to music after taking a break to do
other work. In this song he is basically explaining why he didn’t return to music
because the other work that he was doing paid more than he would get from
music so, he is explaining that if you as in his position you would have done
the same for the money. In the context of the song saying doing road is his
main priority as opposed to rap.

3. The intro to the music video we see the use
of smoke canisters crating a hazed effect on
the camera, as it clears slightly more we can
see a few associates of nines as he walks
through the middle. In this show we can also
see the ICB (Ice City Boys) logo in the middle
of the screen which is a crew in which he
belongs to and a brand, so this works as a
shout out for his crew and the brand name it
upholds. In this scene we see the use of a
tracking shot of nines when walking to signify
movement and we also see the use of
panning as this is used to provide a deeper
perspective into the scenery. The scene
concludes with a fade to black then a cut into
the title screen which displays his name in
bold as he is the main artist and Haile the
featured artist in thinner text before showing
a panning view of London and a montage of
his area.

4. The final cut shows Nines pulling up in a
Porsche which already portrays the rapper
stereotype of wealth. This then leads to a
panning shot of Nines getting out of the car
and a tracking shot of Nines spitting the first
lines of the song in which it is then conceded
with a panning shot to a transition into the
next scene. In this I have found out that the
pacing of the song through every 5 loops of
the song and this is used to set the cutting
rate. The next scene shows that this was
centred around a flat as the second cut
shows him climbing the stairs of a flat and
entering a house as the camera does a 360°
turn showing the passing of time which lead
into the next split screen of Nines greeting a
guy in a Mercedes and the other of him
leaving the house he entered previously
before the camera zooms into the Mercedes
scene as it pulls away as this leads to
another cut of a tracking shot into a zoom in
to Nines as he delivers a punch line to build
tension.

5. The next cut starts with an over the shoulder
tracking shot of a teenager riding a bicycle on
the pavement and the camera stops when it
reaches Nines in front of a corner shop as he
approaches the door the camera cuts to a
match on action in Nines entering the shop
and continues to pan as he turns to greet the
cashier and then cuts to Nines walking down
the street in which a woman walks in the
other direction in which Nines looks at as the
camera uses a tracking shot to follow his
movements and he delivers another punch
line before the hook as he gives the punch
line “it wasn’t all rental when I came through
with the Porsche” the camera zooms out and
pans left to show a rear shot of the whit e
Porsche he came out of in the beginning of
the song showing the resemblance between
the video and the lyrics. As well as the
stereotypical rapper characteristic of boasting
wealth.

6. The hook which Is done by Haile does not
show him but, shows a massive social
gathering the attire worn by the people looks
casual which is synonymous with people in
grime videos. The establishing shot looks to
be a birds eye view that was presumably
captured using a drone. In this we also get
another person at the gathering applying
seasoning chicken which connotes this being
a social gathering as we get a motivated cut
to the grill to show the amount of chicken to
be plenty implementing the mass of people.
After we get a low angle tracking shot of
Nines which cuts to a rear medium shot that
pans to a cut of a medium tracking shot of
Nines walking into the gathering before
showing a montage of people at the
gathering before retiring at an aerial shot of
the location before a cut to the next scene.

7. The opening shot of the second verse starts
with a low angle shot of a crate before it pans
to Nines walking towards the lift before the
next cut in which we see a man jumping
down from a persons back garden as he
jumps down we see the camera tracks the
jump by tilting down as he its the ground
showing the impact of the drop. In addition
this clip could be generalising area in London
as there is a frequent amount of crime
occurring this bares relation into the next cut
as we see the camera pan to Nines walking
down the street in the same location with the
robber running behind him. In this we can
see the connotation of this being the norm in
London as we see Nines ignore it like it didn’t
happen knowing the mentality of turning a
blind eye in which is stereotypical of grime
music as a share of them promoting gang
violence and crime. As well as this taking
place in the day-time presents the impression
that this occurs all the time in the public eye

8. The rest of this verse follows the same style
as the rest of the song as when he delivers
one line of the song their is a cut to another
location in which Nines is wearing a different
attire. In each attire change we can se the
brand names he is wearing are all up scale
clothing lines in which brings the rapper
connotation of being wealthy. In one of the
lines we hear Nines say “She might look nice
but I ain't making her my wifey” in which he is
eluding to the point in which he sees a girl
and from her appearance she looks nice
however he would not pursue further in
romancing her. This concept portrays the
idea of judging a book by its cover as we see
her face looking attracted to nines however
on her thigh has a tattoo of a gun which has
the connotation of killing so what nines is
attempting to portray is that you should not
judge a book by its cover.

9. The final bar of the second verse was him
leaving the apartment using a tracking shot
of Nines walking towards the road in which
he states ‘You niggas heard Nines went
broke, that's a myth, my new whip could've
been in Tokyo drift’ we see a shot of nines
car on the road then we get a 360° dolly shot
around the new Audi R8 before Nines drives
away. This shot provides a variety of camera
angles showing a variety of angles that would
boost the emphasis on a specific object in
this case it is the car that it is quoted by
Nines to be good enough to the point that it
could star in a film, as a result the dolly shot
is used to show the appearance of the car to
be something eye catching. The final shot
shows the car driving of as the camera is
stationary watching it to portray that it is fast
before the cut to the hook.

10. The hook begins with a aerial shot of London
then cuts to a huge gathering of Nines
associates on quad bikes, mopeds and
motorbikes as Nines walks though them in
the opposite direction with an over the
shoulder tracking-shot to capture the
movement. In this we can see that his is a
social gathering as they proceed to drive
quad bikes and ride mopeds around the city,
this is shown from the cutaway to a low-angle
shot of the quad bike tire spinning in slow
motion to create empathy on the movement.
In the next cut we see an editing technique of
rewinding the clip so it seems everything is
going backwards before going forward and
cutting to the next shot which is a montage of
all of those techniques being used with a new
range of clips showing jumping between the
events this gives the effect of the passing of
time including Nines.

11. The outro of the song consists of extended
clips of shots used throughout the video
including three new clips one of the group
gathering captured using a bird eye view
which gives the connotation of being looked
over, the next is a shot of Haile who sung the
hook for the song this was captured from a
worms eye perspective connoting his greater
status and the final is of Nines and the group
for the final shot. In this shot he brings
together the top and bottom border together
creating the effect of a curtain closing and
cutting the viewers perception of the video.

12. From this research I have decided to use the following to influence my
video;
 Tracking shots following the main actor depicting a journey
throughout the location. (low, medium & close-up)
 Closing shot of when the top and the bottom borders close together
to end the video.
 The promotion of the mixtape at the beginning and the end of the
video to create synergy with CD cover that we would design later.
