The music video script depicts the story of a couple breaking up through 12 scenes using flashbacks and memories. It begins by showing the man looking through a scrapbook of photos of them together. As he reminisces, flashbacks show them arguing and her leaving angrily. Later scenes show each attempting to move on, but still dwelling on the past. The video takes a tragic turn when the man hears a car accident outside and discovers that his ex-girlfriend has been hit by a car. The final scene shows the man closing the scrapbook, with a page left blank for memories never made.

1. Music Video Script
1. 0 – 11 seconds = introduction of scrapbook, where you see a close up of the
scrapbook before the still images come to life.
2. 11 – 23 seconds = mid shot of him flicking through the pictures of them in the
scrapbook.
3. 24 – 34 seconds = close up of a photograph with them holding hands on a sunny
day comes alive and zooms out to them laying on the grass pointing at the sky. A
cut to an extreme close up of his eye, which cross dissolves into the clouds (the
sky go from colour to black and white)
4. 35 – 1.01 seconds = the shot fades from the clouds to them arguing and she
leaves and slams the door (slow motion). As the door shuts he looks away (on
the lyrics “I don’t need it anymore”) - all of this will be in black and white.
5. 1.02 – 1.25 seconds = birds-eye view of him looking at the scrapbook again and
then a eye line match of him looking at the clock (in slow motion when the lyrics
say “too much time”). Then he throws the loose pictures in the air (slow motion
as they fall and as he falls back into the sofa) covering his head with his hands.
6. 1.26 -1.37 seconds = fades to a shot of him walking in the rain and looking into
a puddle and seeing his reflection, which cross dissolves into her smiling.
7. 1.38 – 1.53 seconds = the camera pans up from her face looking in to the
puddle to her looking up and having fun in the rain (this happens on the line
“and I cannot escape the past” – in colour) she carries on doing this until she is
just about to stomp in the puddle (which goes from colour to black and white in
slow motion - on the line “can never bring you…”) cross dissolving into the guy
treading into the puddle (on the word “back” in the last sentence of the 3 rd verse)
as he walks away to illustrate how he is unable to take much more pain of
reminiscing.
8. 1.54 – 2.40 seconds = the camera fades back to him in the living room where he
has sat on the controls to press play on the remote for the camera where the
memories from are then projected onto the wall. He peers from his hands as he
hears her laughter and the camera goes from his eyes to a point of view shot of
him looking at the wall where the happy clips are shown (all will be in colour).
9. 2.41 – 3.01 seconds = the happy clip rewinds quickly (in black and white this
time) showing that he is breaking down they are no longer happy memories.
10. 3.02 – 3.30 seconds = the shot goes back to the bit where she slams the door,
however, from the other side as she is leaving. As she slams the door she turns
back reaching for the handle, looking as though she is going to go back in, but
changes her mind. She runs away then goes to her point if view where you see
her running about to cross a road where there is a slow motion of her head
turning and a close up of her face as she notices the car and then blacks out as
you hear a screech of the wheels as the driver tries to break.
11. 3.31 – 3.50 seconds = the protagonist hears the noise of the cars and there is a
slow motion close up of his head turning. He rushes to the front door and opens
it, seeing the driver kneeling down outside. He runs to see what has happened
and stops all of a sudden to see his girlfriend lying on the floor. He drops down
onto his knees with his head in his hands crying (or something).
12. 3.52 – 4.08 seconds = He goes back to flicking through the scrapbook and lands
on the last page where a loose piece of paper inside says, “more memories place
here”. He shuts the scrapbook and the screen fades to black.
