The music video script is for Avicii's song "Wake Me Up" and will be directed by Daniel Harrison. It follows a character walking alone through a forest, encountering obstacles representing responsibilities and obstacles of growing up. He falls and sees a symbol on his hand that leads him to a campsite where others share the same symbol, welcoming him into their group. The video uses close-up and tracking shots to follow the character and show his journey of self-discovery as he leaves obstacles behind and finds acceptance.

0:00 – 0:30– The start of the video
will begin with a low wide shot of
the tree tops. It will have a pan
shot slowly from right to left then
spins around once as the music
starts to play .This shot will be
taken when the sky is starting to
go dark. it will then have a wide
shot of the character center then
it will tilt up and down on the
characters body
Background noise like cars and
trees will be played in the back
Music intro will start to play
Feeling my way through the
darkness, Guided by a beating
heart.
I can’t tell where the journey
will end, but I know where to
start.

0:30 – 1:00 – It willcut in to have
a the character walking towards the
camera starting with it being a
mid-shot then going into an extreme
close up of the characters eyes .
After that a montage will be used
to show all of the shrouding around
him in the forest tress , sky ,
animals etc.
They tell me I’m too young to
understand, They say I’m caught
up in a dream.
Well life will pass me by if I
don’t open my eyes, Well that’s
fine by me.

1:00 – 1:30 – It will cut away to
the character is walking through
the forest which will be done by
using a tracking shot. Multiple
home related items will be put in
front of him who will be blocking
his way so to get around them he
will need to climb over them.
So wake me up when it’s all

he will trip over it and fall on
the floor it will have an extreme
close up of the characters face to
see the depression in his eyes. It
will then cut in to a point of view
shot which he will look at his
hands which will be dirty because
of falling.

2:00 – 2:30–. The character will
stop as he comes up to a ditch in
the path. The character will then
jump over this ditch this will be
done using mid close up and extreme
close up shots. Then when the
character lands on the other side
it will have an extreme close up of
the character landing on the other
side.

neck where there is a tattoo of two
triangles with is a logo that links
with the artist of the song .

Slow motion will be used when he
shows the triangles on his neck.

mid shot and over the shoulder
shots are used to show the
character walking away from where
the character fell over .It will
then cut away to the two
trianglesign on a tree these will
be done by extreme close up . Then
it will have an extreme close up of
the charactertouching the triangle
sign on his neck. He will follow
which will be done by trackingthe
marks on the trees until it leads
to an opening where there is a
campsite with people who also have
the same triangle sign. Close up
shots will be used to show the
outer people greeting the main
character. It will then have a
close up shot to show the other
characters giving the main
character drinks and food which
will show the watchers that they
like them .Then finally it will pan
out when all of the characters are
dancing along to the song .
