•The word multiverse came from two words : Multiple ,
Universe
•The multiverse is a hypothetical group of multiple
universes
•The American philosopher and psychologist William James
coined the term multiverse in 1895, but in a different
context.
•The different universes within the multiverse is called
‘parallel universe’, ‘quantum universe’, ‘parallel worlds’,
‘alternate timelines’ .
3
• The different timelines are created based upon the
chances and decision taken in one universe
•The sum of all potential parallel universes created on
chances form a multiverse and so it is also called
alternate reality
•Most fiction deals with collaboration of multiverse and
time travel along with exploring different realities

The observable universe is limited
The space-time is flat and stretches out infinitely. But
then it must start repeating at some point because the
permutation of particles in space- time is finite.
The existence of multiverse is implied by cosmic
inflation
The multiverse is only physical explanation for the fine-
tuning of parameters that leads to our existence
7
Some Philosophers and scientist believe in the theory of the
multiverse which include : Stephen Hawking, Brian Greene,
Max Tegmark
8
There are four levels:
•LEVEL ONE:
Hubble Volume
 Universes are arranged one on top of the other all having same
physical constants.
•LEVEL TWO:
Universes with different physical constants
Stretching multiverse
Formation of distinct bubbles
•LEVEL THREE:
Many Worlds Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics
Based on possibilities and chances
•LEVEL FOUR:
Ultimate Ensemble
Universes with same or different constants may exist
9
•How is the existence of the other universes to be tested?
•It does not make any predictions we can put into test
•Cosmic inflation that implies multiverse too remains as a
theory
•Multiverse based on chances will not create a physical
universe and it is just imaginary universe
Multiverse is now just a theory in which
scientists are researching about for decades.
Even though there are theories implying its
existence, there is no solid proof to believe in.
In future, with the advancement of technology
and science, it may become an unveiled truth.
Only because we are unaware of a particular
thing, we cannot say it does not exist.
