3. RESULTS RESPONSE
The intelligence in which I was the highest was interpersonal intelligence. This makes
sense, despite my social eccentricities, as I consider myself to be an extrovert who enjoys
meeting new people. I find that my friends come to me to “spill” their hearts out to and thus I
act as a confidante of sorts to many, which corresponds with interpersonal intelligence. My
next intelligence seems to linguistic, which I see as fitting. I consider literature classes at
school to be some of the most interesting and learning about the intricacies of writing has
always been fascinating. I simply enjoy exploring nature (especially the Botantical Gardens) and
thus naturalistic intelligence is another expected result. I absolutely abhor physical acitivity at
times (due to my lack of coordination) and my low kinesthetic score solidifies my weakness in it.
The musical and mathematical intelligences I feel should be switched however. While I do
enjoy music, I simply don’t feel that I have any particular musical talent and while I don’t like
math—at all—I still feel that I’m more talented in mathematics then I am in music. Lastly, my
intrapersonal intelligence makes a lot of sense as I feel I don’t understand myself and have
bouts of confusion on who I am, such as where I want to go in life, what I want to be defined
by, and why I act the way I do in situations—on another note, the spatial intelligence seems
accurate as I consider myself moderately artsy.
4. INTERPERSONAL
INTELLIGENCE
Interpersonal intelligence is the ability to interact and understand others and to properly behave in social
situations. In the class, my favorite units thus far have been “Developmental Psychology”, “Thinking, Language
and Intelligence”, and “Nature vs. Nurture”. To better learn “Developmental Psychology” via interpersonal
intelligence, we could have actually visited a preschool and interacted with kids in person to better understand how
their minds individually process and think (this of course would be limited to the fact that we all live in different
places in the state. To learn “Thinking, Language, and Intelligence”, the class could have met in personal groups
after taking a variety of intelligence tests (included the one done in a power point.) In these groups, people could
discuss how they go through life using their strongest intelligence along with explaining how the language(s) each
person knows affect cognition and differ from others, etc. This way, I could learn via communication and first
hand accounts on how different people think to better understand concepts, though, a discussion online could
probably suffice. Lastly, to learn “Nature vs. Nurture” the class could be assigned an assignment in which we teach
the rest of the class a certain aspect of “Nature vs. Nurture”. A pair of partners or an individual could prepare a
lesson and teach it to the rest of the class through a synchronization session online and take questions and
feedback from classmates. That way interpersonal skills could be used as people can directly communicate whilst
learning the actual material.
5. LINGUISTIC INTELLGENCE
Linguistic intelligence refers to skill with words, a joy of reading, writing, and learning languages, and
an ability to teach and explain. Those with linguistic intelligence learn best when reading or attending
lectures. .In the class, my favorite units thus far have been “Developmental Psychology”, “Thinking,
Language and Intelligence”, and “Nature vs. Nurture”. Learning the first unit could be done by a simple
lecture. By means of an online lecture, the material could be taught to others students and I in an
auditory fashion, thus letting information be remembered easier as linguistic learners learn well with
lectures. To learn the language portion of the second unit mentioned, video recordings of a child’s
language development could be played. By hearing the different ways they use language, I, and other
linguistic learners, could have the sounds of language development solidified in our memories and thus
remember them better. Lastly, “Nature vs. Nurture” could be taught by doing extensive reading on twins
studies. Through reading on twins, the affects of nature and nurture could be better absorbed and
solidified for future remembrance.
6. NATURALISTIC
INTELLGENCE
Naturalist intelligence refers to a particular sensitivity to nature, particularly nurturing animals and
plants. In the class, my favorite units thus far have been “Developmental Psychology”, “Thinking,
Language and Intelligence”, and “Nature vs. Nurture”. To learn “Developmental Psychology” in a way
suited to a naturalist, students could be assigned an assignment in which they compare the development
of animals and human children. By doing so, their interest would be peaked and they could understand
development. “Thinking, Language, and Intelligence” could be understood by a naturalist by
incorporating the method of loci and outside locations. By instructing students to learn certain aspects
of the unit in different outdoor locations, they’ll remember the information in relation to well liked
outside locations. “Nature and Nurture” lastly could be understood through categorization Naturalistic
learners are very adept at seeing patterns (stemming from seeing patterns in nature) and thus an
assignment in which they categorize the information in the unit in their own way could be assigned for
greater comprehension.
