Technology Will Destroy Our Planet
By Mitch Johnston

Over the past 200 years our world has seen
drastic changes, especially when it comes to
the evolution of technology. The boom of
technology since the industrial revolution has
allowed our society to live an easier and more
globally connected lifestyle. However, all of this
technology has started to impact our planet in
a negative way and is starting to effect our
wellbeing here on Earth.
 Technology has developed exponentially over time
 From the compass, next the automobile, and now
ever improving computers
 All of our technologies have good and bad effects
on our planet
 Even though technology has started to
destroy our planet, some good technologies
still exist
 Electric cars are starting
to become more common
on our roads
 Improving cancer research
is allowing us to live longer
lives
 Renewable energy such as
wind and solar power are
being incorporated into
our power grid
 Technology is creating more good than bad
in this world. It is generating many negative
effects on our environment and us as people
 Automobiles and industrial plants are
emitting greenhouse gases into our
environment
 Nuclear energy is putting our planet at risk of
radiation
 Cell phones are now a necessity in everyday
life
 People are now becoming less social, relying
on talking or texting using their cell
 Are one of leading causes
of death while driving
 The future of technology can go either two
ways. It can save our planet by becoming
eco-friendly or it will destroy our planet by
creating irreversible effects on our
environment.
 Future medical technology will save many
lives that could not have been saved in the
past
 Diseases like cancer and Alzheimer's will
soon have a cure
 This will enable people to live much longer
and happier lives
 Cities are already
huge problems
when it comes to
emissions and
destroying the
environment
 Rising populations
are causing cities to continue to grow
In this day and age, it is impossible not to be
around or to use technology. It has been so
integrated in our lives that we could no longer
function without it. Even though technology
has made life easier,
many of its benefits
are outweighed by the
negative consequences
it leaves.
