Driving Performance Excellence in the Regulatory Affairs Function at Medical ...Best Practices
This document summarizes research from a benchmarking study of regulatory affairs practices at 32 leading medical device companies. Key findings include:
- Regulatory affairs structures are most commonly centralized, though some utilize decentralized or hybrid models. Larger companies tend towards more decentralized structures.
- Portfolio complexity, defined as the ratio of class III products, influences but does not solely determine staffing needs.
- On average, companies file over a dozen submissions annually with European regulators and over 60 submissions with Japanese regulators.
- Regulatory staff spend significant time (over 20% for most companies) managing change notices and documentation.
Holding a part-time job while studying can disrupt a student's studies in three main ways:
1) It causes stress as students must juggle schoolwork and job responsibilities which mixes problems from both. The stress lacks energy and harms study spirit.
2) It makes students lose focus on their studies as they have to divide attention between work and school instead of focusing solely on studies.
3) It leaves less time for students to study and prepare for exams as packed schedules at work and school leave no extra time for academic activities. While some can manage both, most students lack time management skills to avoid disrupting their studies.

Strategies to Increase Medical Affairs' Role in Health Outcomes Data Generati...Best Practices
With the shift toward evidence-based medicine and value-based pricing, many bio-pharmaceutical companies are transitioning their Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) function away from the Commercial organization to Medical Affairs. This has some major implications towards the interactions with key stakeholders, the way interactions are documented and the skill sets & activities that may be required. Development of strong health outcomes capabilities within Medical Affairs organizations requires an increase in that function’s involvement with health outcomes groups, development of field-based health outcomes capabilities, customization of health outcomes data by stakeholders and building real world data capabilities to generate and utilize health outcomes information.
Best Practices, LLC undertook this study to identify strategies to increase MA’s role in Health Outcomes data generation and utilization. Specifically, the study highlights the role of Medical Affairs function in HO activities, industry drivers and resource levels for HO groups, challenges of MA’s involvement in HO activities and strategies for effective HO data communication and utilization.

Nutrition Bars - Market Overview, Growth Drivers and New Product Ideas
MUET Essay -Should fast food be ban completely?
1. * With an increasingly
number of people eating
fast food which can cause
health issues, some
people think that the only
solution is to ban it
completely. What is your
view on this?
4. *The fast food industries, also known as Quick Service
Restaurants (QSR)
*demand for cheap and quick food has increased
drastically - fast food franchising is growing rapidly
*fast-paced lifestyle - cooking is no longer a preferable
choice.
*No doubt, fast food is generally associated with health
issues like obesity and high cholesterol.
*This leads to people suggesting that the fast food
industry be banned completely.
*However, in my opinion, banning fast food restaurant is
not the best way to counter increasing health issues.
There are a few alternative approaches to the
problem.
5. *
*Implementing regulations in fast food
production industries.
*Be aware of the marketing and advertising
strategies in the fast food industries and thus
take action.
*Educate the public on fast food in relation to
an unhealthy diet.
7. *The government can play a role in implementing
regulations in fast food production industries.
*Fast processed food is bad to the health - a high amount
of calories and fat
*volume, speed and low priced food - fast food restaurants
tend to disregard the healthy cooking method.
*keep an eye on the food production.
*Policies and guidelines - outline the best practises to
meet the standard of healthy food.
*frying and grilling should be done at a suitable
temperature level - oil should not be overused - to
reduce the unhealthy effects on fast foods.
*should also control the portion of the servings
8. *
Be aware of the marketing and advertising strategies
in the fast food industries and thus take action.
9. *the government and the public should be aware of the
marketing and advertising strategies in the fast food
industries
*fast food industries - primarily profit- based businesses,
advertisements - fictitious and misleading way.
*Commercials should be controlled and supervised by the
government.
*More attention - on targeted marketing strategies on
children and teens.
*Advertisements encourage the public to have takeaways
on burgers and fries rather than having a proper meal.
*Some even label their food as healthy - play a negative
role in influencing one’s eating habit.
*benefit the food industries that promote healthy foods in
order to attract more followers.
11. *the Ministry of Health Malaysia should educate the
public on fast food in relation to an unhealthy diet.
*lack the knowledge about the nutrition value -how much
food they should consume.
*became a reason why fast food chains are expanding
and profiting intensively.
*Studies have shown that fast food that is consumed can
easily reach the amount of calories one person needs to
consume in a day just by one meal.
*often prefer large-sized fries and carbonated drinks
*people must be educated to gain self-awareness - the
individuals understand better and acknowledge the
nutrition content in their food
*Health issues can be scaled down
*Self-control is important because one is free to make his
own choice of diet.
13. *In conclusion, I personally think that banning fast
food completely is not the best measure to
control alarming health issues.
*Instead, national policies on food production,
marketing controls and advertisement and
education are a more effective way to ensure the
public’s health.
*In fact, studies have shown that banning fast food
policies was a failure when implemented in South
Los Angeles, California.
*Certainly, banning fast food cannot completely
deviate the public’s eating habits.
