Excel & PowerPoint
Excel: Understanding the Interface
• Workbooks contain worksheets.
• Each worksheet has rows & columns.
• Cells are labeled (A1, B2, etc.).
Excel: Entering and Formatting
Data
• Click a cell and type data.
• Use the Home tab for formatting (Bold, Color,
Align).
• Adjust column width and row height.
Excel: Basic Formulas & Functions
• Examples:
• Addition: =A1+B1
• Multiplication: =A1*B1
• SUM: =SUM(A1:A5)
Excel: Creating Charts
• 1. Select data
• 2. Go to Insert > Charts
• 3. Choose a chart type (Bar, Line, Pie)
Excel: Sorting & Filtering Data
• Sort Data: Use Sort A-Z or Z-A.
• Filter Data: Use Data > Filter to display specific
values.
PowerPoint: Understanding the
Interface
• Slides Pane, Ribbon, Notes Pane
PowerPoint: Adding Text &
Formatting
• Click a text box and type.
• Format using Bold, Italic, Font Size, and Color.
PowerPoint: Inserting Images &
Charts
• Insert > Pictures (for images).
• Insert > Chart (for data visualization).
PowerPoint: Adding Transitions &
Animations
• Transitions: Choose an effect (Fade, Wipe,
Push).
• Animations: Apply effects to text or objects.
PowerPoint: Running a Slideshow
• Slide Show > From Beginning (F5) or Current
Slide (Shift + F5).
