Agenda for Today
 Introduction to Microsoft BI
 Demo
 What’s next?
“By 2015, organizations that build a modern information
management system will outperform their peers
financially by 20 percent.”
– Gartner, Mark Beyer., “Information Management in the 21st Century”
“Business intelligence (BI) is an umbrella term that includes the
applications, infrastructure and tools, and best practices that enable access
to and analysis of information to improve and optimize decisions and
performance.”
“Defines the business intelligence (BI) market as a set of methodologies,
processes, architectures, and technologies that leverage the output of
information management processes for analysis, reporting, performance
management, and information delivery. Research coverage includes executive
dashboards as well as query and reporting tools.”
“Business intelligence (BI) is the set of techniques and tools for the
transformation of raw data into meaningful and useful information
for business analysis purposes. BI technologies are capable of handling
large amounts of unstructured data to help identify, develop and
otherwise create new strategic business opportunities.”
“Business intelligence (BI) is a set of methodologies, processes,
architectures and tools that transforms raw data (often complex and
voluminous) into actionable decision support information by
presenting it in a concise, visually appealing, and insightful format”
