For whom this may concern.
I am very happy to write a recommendation letter for such an outstanding student as Yi Khai. Most
important quality of a student to perform in a challenging academic environment would be a
student’s academic capability along with communication and teamwork skills. In thess criteria, I
might be one of the best people who can evaluate Yi Khai’s potential as a student, since I have
taught him a very challenging class in English and had an opportunity to carefully observe his
performance in this environment. To say the least, I conclude that he will perform superbly in
pursuing study in your program. Now, I’d like to explain the basis of my evaluation.
I started to interact with Yi Khai, since the 2nd semester of 2012 when I taught Product and Service
Innovation. Yi Khai understood the material and actively participated in the class. His excellent
understanding of the material led him to receive the grade of A in this class. In this class, he showed
superb comprehension of the lecture and capability of problem-solving. Moreover, in a very
demanding course as it is, he did a good job in all aspects of the class, including teamwork,
presentation skill, communication skill, and leadership.
Yi Khai is a very hard-working student. In comparison with other students I have taught so far, he
may be at the top 5% of academic endeavor and performance. He usually prepares for the class well
enough to contribute to the class. He was so interested in doing teamwork and actively participated
in team projects. For the team project, he proposed lots of novel ideas for new product concept and
pushed forward a project for his team. These qualities will be great assets for him to perform in an
advanced program. In turn, future experience in your program will enhance these already
established qualities much more.
I strongly recommend Yi Khai as a student for your program. I believe that he will gain much for
himself. But more importantly, I am certain that he will bring a lot of ideas to the class like he did in
my class, contributing to your program in the future in many ways. I sincerely hope that he get a
chance to do such things.
