Where you sit says a lot about where you stand. This week we look at Matthew 15 and the three groups of people who approach Jesus but with different responses and attitudes. This is a great chance to reflect on where we are in our relationship to God and to the future.

The challenges of facing the loss of a friend, the loss of a dream and the loss of hope in the future is more than most people can endure. Jesus prepares his disciples to band together by sharing this last meal and reminding them of who they are together and who God has called them to be in the uncertainty they are about to face.
Generosity is at the heart of what it means to be free. Free to give away is a sure sign you are not imprisoned by it. How easily are you able to give?
Every one of us will leave a legacy behind when we die. So the question is not "Will I leave a legacy?" But rather, "What kind of legacy will I leave?"

We confuse busyness ...with being productive, with being successful, efficient, to being meaningful.
We find in our Gospel text that Jesus too, was busy with life.
Yet, in the midst of this busyness, He finds time he makes time to find a solitary place to pray. A Quiet time a time alone with the Father.

We live in fear most of the time. Fear of loss, fear of rejection, fear of the unknown. Fear sucks the joy out of life and leaves you gasping for meaning and hope. Jesus spoke about combating fear and offer a kind of strength and hope that
Every church has a mission and a vision, whether they know it or not. A mission is why the organization exists and the vision is what they are trying to achieve. In this presentation to the Mt. How you approach prayer is directly linked to how you approach life. In the Lord's Prayer, Jesus reminds us that we are not just servants of the King, but son and daughters of the Father. the video is available at www.mympumc.net
Charles Spurgeon said that doubt is a foot poised to go forwards or backwards in faith. We can never go forward without first picking up the foot. So stare into your doubts. But then look into the face of God, realize his power, and grasp the greatness of his love. And ask your questions. Leave room a God whose power and wisdom are far above your own and search the Scriptures to see what his answer might be. Humble doubts lead to deep faith.

The Catholic Church is in the midst of a great crisis. In fact, many commentators in Catholic media are already saying that the Church is perhaps already in the midst of a de facto schism. On one side, you have high-ranking liberal prelates pushing for major changes in the Church: same-sex unions, cohabitation, contraception, tolerance towards abortion, and many others. On the other side, you have faithful Cardinals and bishops fighting to preserve the True Traditional teachings of the Catholic Church.

The Parable of the Sower and the Seed (Luke 8) is about radical transformation from dirt to new life that happens from God's Word and the dangers that come for those seeking spiritual growth!
We've got to allow God to strip down all the years of grime and cheap paint piled on top of each other. He needs to get down to the bare original so He can begin to fill the cracks, sand the rough edges, and make our hearts beautiful again. He’s already looked beneath the layers and has determined that we're all worth doing over.

Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

noise, hurry and crowds. If he can keep

Angels listen as I sing my thanks.

thank you for your faithfulness;
Most holy is your name, most holy is your Word.

all earth’s kings will say “Thank you.”
They’ll sing of what you’ve done:
“How great the glory of GOD!”
