Not how did they die but how did they live?
Not, what did they gain, but what did they give?
These are the units that measure the worth
Of man as man, regardless of birth.
Not what was their church, nor what was their creed?
But had they befriended those really in need?
Were they ever ready with a word of good cheer?
To bring back a smile, to banish a tear?
Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say,
But how many were sorry when they passed away?

But would not tears and grief be barriers?)
But when you hear a song or see a bird

I always have…. You were so good to me!
There are so many things I wanted still
To do – so many things to say to you….
Remember that I did not fear… It was
Just leaving you that was so hard to face….

and all that was left was my essence,
