"Acceptable" is such a loose term, so it's hard to say what is "acceptable" for any given person. After all, everyone is a different individual and their situations and maturity will vary greatly. Something that is acceptable for one person may not be acceptable for another.
Also keep in mind 1 Corinthians 10:23 (NIV), which says, "'I have the right to do anything,' you say—but not everything is beneficial. 'I have the right to do anything'—but not everything is constructive." We have many freedoms through Christ, but that doesn't mean that everything will be healthy or good for you.
There are gateways that connect the Holy Spirit with our spirit; the spirit with the soul and the soul with the body and the body with the external world. Do you know them?

In this session we answered the question “What is Foundational for Discipling Someone? by looking at what to do to help build a strong foundation in the life of those we disciple. The topics covered included looking the big picture, being vs doing, the gospel of Jesus, three main tools Jesus uses, it’s all about Jesus, our heart motivation and our new identity.
The Parable of the Sower and the Seed (Luke 8) is about radical transformation from dirt to new life that happens from God's Word and the dangers that come for those seeking spiritual growth!
We've got to allow God to strip down all the years of grime and cheap paint piled on top of each other. He needs to get down to the bare original so He can begin to fill the cracks, sand the rough edges, and make our hearts beautiful again. He’s already looked beneath the layers and has determined that we're all worth doing over.

much more important and is a tonic for all you do.
9. So exercise yourself spiritually, and practice being a
better Christian because that will help you not only
now in this life, but in the next life too. This is the
truth and everyone should accept it.
10. We work hard and suffer much in order that people
will believe it, for our hope is in the living God who
died for all, and particularly for those who have
accepted his salvation.
11. Teach these things and make sure everyone learns
them well. Don’t let anyone think little of you
because you are young. Be their ideal; let them
follow the way you teach and live; be a pattern for
them in your love, your faith, and your clean
thoughts.
12. Until I get there, read and explain the Scriptures to
the church; preach God’s Word.
Be sure to use the abilities God has given you
through his prophets when the elders of the church
laid their hands upon your head.
13. Put these abilities to work; throw yourself into your
tasks so that everyone may notice your
improvement and progress.Keep a close watch on
all you do and think. Stay true to what is right and
God will bless you and use you to help others.
