An Uphill Faith
Golgotha
And when they had mocked
him, they took off the purple
robe and put his own clothes
on him. Then they led him
out to crucify him. A certain
man from Cyrene, Simon, the
father of Alexander and
Rufus, was passing by on his
way in from the country, and
they forced him to carry the
cross.
They brought Jesus to the
place called Golgotha (which
means “the place of the
skull”). It was nine in the
morning when they crucified
him. The written notice of
the charge against him read:
THE KING OF THE JEWS.
They crucified two rebels
with him, one on his right
and one on his left.
Those who passed by hurled
insults at him, shaking their
heads and saying, “So! You
who are going to destroy the
temple and build it in three
days, come down from the
cross and save yourself!” In
the same way the chief
priests and the teachers of
the law mocked him among
themselves.
“He saved others,” they said,
“but he can’t save himself!
Let this Messiah, this king of
Israel, come down now from
the cross, that we may see
and believe.” Those crucified
with him also heaped insults
on him.
With a loud cry, Jesus
breathed his last. And when
the centurion, who stood
there in front of Jesus, saw
how he died, he said, “Surely
this man was the Son of
God!” Mark 15:20-39 (NIV)
A Place called…
Golgotha
is
Golgotha
Nobody is INVISIBLE
to God
A certain man from Cyrene,
Simon, the father of
Alexander and Rufus, was
passing by on his way in
from the country, and they
forced him to carry the
cross.
Nobody is INVISIBLE
to God
“Yet you know me, LORD;
you see me and test my
thoughts about you.”
Jeremiah 12:3
Nobody is UNMOVED
by Jesus
When Jesus saw his mother,
and the disciple whom he
loved standing near, he said
to his mother, “Woman,
behold, your son!” John 19:26
Nobody is UNMOVED
by Jesus
Jesus said, “It is finished”
and he bowed his head
and gave up his spirit.”
John 19:30
Nobody is UNMOVED
by Jesus
When the centurion,
who stood there in front
of Jesus, saw how he
died, he said, “Surely this
man was the Son of
God!” Mark 15:39
Nobody is without
HOPE
“Jesus, remember me when
you come into your kingdom.
Jesus answered, “Truly I tell
you, today you will be with
me in paradise.” Lk 23:42
Nobody is without
HOPE
Jesus said, “Father,
forgive them, for they do
not know what they are
doing.” Luke 23:34
In Jesus, I see why
FAITH MATTERS
In Jesus, I see why
FAITH MATTERS
Because Golgotha is
UNAVOIDABLE
In Jesus, I see why
FAITH MATTERS
Because Golgotha is
UNAVOIDABLE
Because Golgotha is
NOT THE END
Golgotha
Will your faith
survive
