This document summarizes research on using combined computerized cognitive remediation treatment and vocational services to help people with schizophrenia improve their cognitive abilities and employment outcomes. Key findings include: 1) Initial cognitive function, especially attention and problem-solving, predicts work performance and its improvement. 2) Neurocognitive enhancement therapy combined with work therapy led to greater increases in work hours and performance than work therapy alone. 3) Participants who received neurocognitive enhancement therapy in addition to supported employment had higher rates of competitive employment and greater quarterly work hours over time than those receiving supported employment only.
