The document discusses some of the key beliefs and origins of Mormonism, formally known as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It notes that Mormonism was established by Joseph Smith in the 1820s and is based on writings from the Book of Mormon rather than being founded solely on the Bible. The document raises issues with some of Mormonism's claims that contradict or are not supported by the Bible, such as Joseph Smith's visions. It also summarizes some unique Mormon doctrines like humans becoming gods and the three levels of heaven.
Jesus only built one church which is a spiritual body. In the New Testament we find that the Christians guided by inspired apostles assembled together as local assemblies or churches in order to accomplish the work the Lord gave them to do. That simple arrangement resulted in those local churches preaching the gospel throughout the whole world as the Lord commanded to be done. These slides are about those local assemblies and suggest that the Lord has not changed this arrangement.

We are all subject to emotions or feelings. Allowing our emotions or our feelings to guide us in religion can result in serious eternal consequences contrary to what our feelings intended. God gives us guidance in the Bible concerning the right place for our feelings in serving Him. This lesson deals with Emotion in Religion

The first teaching in the series "Growing Deep in the Gospel". In this teaching we answer the question "Why is the Gospel Important?" by looking at Romans 1:16, several other Bible verses and quotes from pastors and Christian authors. Then in light of the importance of the gospel we look at what we should do with the gospel.

We must be very careful that in teaching the gospel we do not teach a different gospel that leads souls away from Christ and salvation in Him. Paul warns of teaching a different Jesus, Spirit, and Gospel. This lesson examines the “different Jesus”.
History of Christianity (elementary-middle school). Nicene Creed. Constantinople vs. Rome. Roman Catholic vs. Eastern Orthodox. Spread of Christianity.
The temptation to introduce "new" things into the work of God has always been too strong for some people to resist... Today this trend has accelerated beyond recognition despite A.W. Tozer's warning. Christians should be spiritually awakened so as to discern God’s original ways from man-made false ways in every area of Christianity.
The Revelation Chapter 6 Working Copy.docxFred Gosnell
In this sixth chapter, the Lamb begins to open the six seals that will send judgment upon the earth. The voice of a creature sounding like thunder invites John to come and see. John sees a white horse. The Lamb opens the second seal and a second creature tells John to come and see and he sees another horse, a red one that was to take peace from the earth. The third seal is opened and John sees a third horse, a black one. When the fourth seal is opened, the voice of the fourth creature says come and see to John. This time he sees a pale horse whose name is Death and Hades. When the fifth seal was opened, John saw under the altar the souls of those who were slain for the word of God. They asked how long before the Lord would avenge their blood. We are told that they were given white robes and they were told to rest awhile until their fellow servants and brethren should be killed. The sixth seal is opened and there is a great earthquake, the sun becomes black as sackcloth, the stars of heaven fell unto the earth even as the fig tree casts her green figs when she is shaken by a mighty wind. The figurative language continues to tell John what is going to happen after this sixth seal was opened. The final paragraph in this chapter tells us that the great day of the Lamb's wrath has come. Study this chapter and see what is revealed to the apostle John for our benefit.
The Revelation Chapter 5 Working Copy.docxFred Gosnell
John continues his description of his heavenly vision. There is an individual on the throne holding a scroll in his right hand that is sealed with seven seals. A strong messenger asks who is worthy to open the book and loose the seals, John weeps when no one is found to do so. One of the elders says there is someone and identifies him, A description follows of the actions taken by the individual and those of the four creatures and twenty four elders that were there. There are prayers described and a new song is sung by the large number of individuals there. The individual who is worshipped is noted at thye end of the chapter.
The Revelation Chapter 4 Working Copy.docxFred Gosnell
In this chapter, John sees a door opened in heaven and a trumpet talking to him tells him come up and he would show him things that would take place after this. John says he was "in spirit", not "in the spirit" as many translations say. John sees a throne, one on the throne described like precious stones, elders, crowns, lightnings, thunders, seven lamps, voices, creatures, an eagle, and worshipping
The Revelation Chapter 3 Working Copy.docxFred Gosnell
The third chapter of Revelation containing the last 3 letters to the seven local churches in Asia. One assembly is dead. However, there are those in it that are faithful to the Lord. A lesson for us. Only the Lord knows the condition of the saints in local churches and we ought to be careful how we look at them. The second local assembly was commended by the Lord for the little strength that they had and the fact that they had kept His word and not denied His name. The third assembly was lukewarm, their works being neither cold nor hot. The Lord considered this to be a sickening condition. They saw themselves as being rich and not needing anything. The Lord gave them the guidance they needed to follow. Two of the churches were told to repent. The Lord reminded them that He rebuked and chastened those who He loved. Those who overcome would be given the opportunity to sit in the Lord's throne. As in every letter, the Lord reminds them to hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
The Revelation Chapter 2 Working Copy .docxFred Gosnell
The beginning of the Lord's letters to the seven churches in Asia. In chapter two the Lord addresses the first 4 churches. One was faithful to the Lord even though they were persecuted and poor. They were told to be faithful unto death. One was commended for a number of things they had done, but were criticized for leaving their first love. One had been somewhat faithful even though they lived where Satan's seat was. However, there were those among them who held the doctrine of Balaam and the teachings of the Nicolaitans. The last one was commended because their love, faith and patience had increased. Unfortunately, they had allowed a false prophetess to teach immorality and idolatry. These three were all told to repent by the Lord.

Notes on Chapter one of the Revelation of Jesus Christ which God gave to Him to show to His servants which must shortly come to pass; and He sent and signified it by His messenger unto His servant John. John addressed the Revelation to the seven churches that were in Asia at the time.
THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST Intro.docxFred Gosnell
Introduction to a study of the Revelation of Jesus Christ using bible passages from Old Testament prophets to understand the figurative, apocalyptic language Jesus provided to the apostle John in writing the book. Noting the internal evidence in the book and statements of other apostles to show the early date for its production and its reference to the destruction of Jerusalem. These conclusions are not original to me having been published by others such as Foy Wallace whose work I refer to throughout where I agree with it.
Life after death according to the Bible. Jesus as the faithful witness went through everything we do in life. When He died, He went to Hades according to Acts 2 like everyone else. This lesson examines that process. This translation into Telugu of the original lesson was done by Manohar Babu P to whom we are grateful.
Jesus has provided us with a pattern to follow in the words He supplied by the Holy Spirit to the inspired writers of the New Testament. We must follow His pattern in what we do in order to be faithful to Him. If we do not follow His pattern, we will not be what or who He intended. He will not recognize us nor accept what we have done. Jesus will judge us by that pattern of sound words that He supplied as He said in John 12:48. This lesson shows that.
This is the third lesson in a series about Jesus and the guidance He has given us. The first lesson is the Faithful Witness which is Jesus. He is the Creator and He came here in the flesh to save us. As the faithful witness He went through everything in the flesh that we experience, yet did not sin. He has provided in His New Testament what was witnessed by Him and we can depend upon what He says. The second lesson is Being Faithful Unto Death. Jesus provided all of the guidance His disciples need to be faithful to Him until they die. This third lesson looks at what Jesus has provided to us about what happens when we die, where we go, and the fact that we continue to live even though our body is in the grave. Jesus being the Creator and the faithful witness can be depended upon by every human being to have provided reliable information on life after death,
A study of being faithful unto death as Jesus tells the church at Smyrna, Jesus being the faithful witness who has been through what we experience is the only one who can tell us how to be faithful unto death This lesson includes some of the guidance He provided us.
A lesson about Jesus as the Faithful Witness based on Jesus coming here in the flesh and experiencing what we experience in the weakness of the flesh yet not committing any sins. Scriptures noting His resurrection as proof of everything He said to be true. Scriptures that express what He will use as the standard of judgment of all accountable people.
A study of who Jesus is according to the Old Testament and the New Testament. His life on this earth was short even though His goal was monumental, to seek and save that which was lost. He accomplished His goal by paying the price for our sins which we as sinners could not pay. Take a little time to learn about our Savior and Friend, Jesus Christ.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

1. THE CHURCHES/KINGDOMS OF MEN
• In our first study of Mormonism, we noted that
it was established by Joseph Smith in the 1820’s
and formally organized as a legal entity on April
6, 1830.
• We noted that the basis for the Book of
Mormon came from a manuscript written by
Solomon Spaulding titled “A Manuscript Found”
that was reworked by Sidney Rigdon
and passed off as the Book of Mormon by
Joseph Smith. See previous lesson, same subject

2. THE CHURCHES/KINGDOMS OF MEN
• All churches of men have been established by
uninspired men who regulate them by the
doctrine and commandments of those men.
• The Lord condemns these divisions or
denominations in 1 Cor 1:10 and states that
their worship is vain per Matt 15:8-9.
• These men depend upon individual’s lack of
knowledge of God’s Word in order to
propagate their error. Note Hosea 4:6.

“God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted
man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens! That is the
great secret…I say, if you were to see him today, you
would see him like a man in form…he was once a man

• The LDS Church teaches that at the end of the world
everyone will be resurrected. They also believe that
almost everyone will go to heaven, which is divided
up into three main levels. Bad people go to the
lowest, the Telestial Kingdom (Doctrine and
Covenants 76:81-86). Good people, who were not
Mormons, will go to the middle level, the Terrestrial
Kingdom (D&C 76:71–79). Mormons will go to the
highest level, the Celestial Kingdom (D&C 76:50-70).

word, which is my law, and by the new and everlasting covenant, ...Ye shall come
forth in the first resurrection; ...and shall inherit thrones, kingdoms,
principalities, and powers, dominions, ...and they shall pass by the angels, and
the gods, which are set there, to their exaltation and glory in all things, as hath
been sealed upon their heads, which glory shall be a fulness and a continuation
of the seeds forever and ever.
• 20 Then shall they be gods, because they have no end; therefore shall they be
from everlasting to everlasting, because they continue; then shall they be above
all, because all things are subject unto them. Then shall they be gods, because
they have all power, and the angels are subject unto them.
• 21 Verily, verily, I say unto you, except ye abide my law ye cannot attain to this
glory.
• 22 For strait is the gate, and narrow the way that leadeth unto the exaltation and

• Milton R. Hunter, Pearl of Great Price Commentary, p.144-145:
• Later the Prophet Joseph explained what the revelation [D&C 132]
meant by the statement, "which glory shall be a fulness and a
continuation of the seeds forever and ever." He pointed out that
the Gods were to be parents of spirit-children just as our Heavenly
Father and Heavenly Mother were the parents of the people of
this earth. Following are the words of the Prophet:
• Except a man and his wife enter into an everlasting covenant and
be married for eternity, ...they will cease to increase when they
die; that is, they will not have any children after the resurrection.
But those who are married by the power and authority of the
Priesthood in this life, and continue without committing the sin
against the Holy Ghost, will continue to increase and have children
in the celestial glory.

• Milton R. Hunter, LDS Conference Report, April 1949,
p.71:
• The Prophet Joseph Smith explained that this
continuation of "the seeds" forever and ever, meant the
power of procreation; in other words, the power to
beget spirit children on the same principle as we were
born to our Heavenly Parents, God the Eternal Father
and our Eternal Mother. Therefore, a man cannot
receive the highest exaltation without a woman, his
wife, nor can a woman be exalted without her husband.
That is the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the plan
of salvation.

the Lord and receive these holy ordinances which
belong to that house, which cannot be had elsewhere.

JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS
• The following slides from “How the LDS Husband Hopes to
Resurrect His Wife According to the LDS Temple Ceremony”
By Sandra Tanner.
• Only those who merit the highest part of the Celestial
Kingdom will have Eternal Life [the ability to live in a
marriage relationship and continue to beget children—see
D&C 132:20-24, also see “Mormons Hope to Become Gods of
Their Own Worlds”]. All others have immortality [which is
defined as the ability to live forever in a single condition, not
married and no future children] but do not have Eternal Life.
One must be married in the LDS temple and then obey all of
the Mormon regulations to get to the highest degree of
heaven.

18. MORMONISM – KNOWN TODAY AS THE CHURCH OF
JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS
• The first time a Mormon attends the temple
endowment ceremony he/she will be given a new
name [usually a Bible name like Peter or Mary or
the name of European royalty]. These will
supposedly be their names in eternity. The wife
must tell her husband her new name, and no one
else, as he is supposed to call her up in the
resurrection. If he does not call her up she would
still resurrect, but not as his wife.

JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS
• LDS Apostle Charles W. Penrose wrote:
• In the case of a man marrying a wife in the
everlasting covenant who dies while he continues in
the flesh and marries another by the same divine
law, each wife will come forth in her order and
enter with him into his glory. (Charles W. Penrose,
“Mormon” Doctrine Plain and Simple, or Leaves
from the Tree of Life, Salt Lake City, 1897, p. 66)

20. MORMONISM – KNOWN TODAY AS THE CHURCH OF
JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS
• LDS Apostle Erastus Snow preached the following on
Sunday, October 4, 1857:
• I ask, Can you get into the celestial kingdom without
him? Have any of you been there? You will remember
that you never got into the celestial kingdom [during
the temple ceremony] without the aid of your husband.
If you did, it was because your husband was away, and
some one had to act proxy for him. No woman will get
into the celestial kingdom, except her husband receives
her, if she is worthy to have a husband; and if not,
somebody will receive her as a servant. (Journal of
Discourses, vol. 5, p. 291)

JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS
• William Clayton, secretary to Joseph Smith, also discussed
some of the temple work in his journals. In the
Introduction to An Intimate Chronicle: The Journals of
William Clayton we read:
• Clayton described the temple endowment, a ritualized
drama of the creation, fall, and redemption of Adam,
during which its participants promise obedience and
loyalty to the church, and repeat passwords and signs
they believe will enable them to enter into the celestial or
highest kingdom of heaven. He wrote about washings and
anointings, preparatory rituals for the endowment
ceremony, and described dramatic role-playing in which
church members act out the Garden of Eden story of
Adam, Eve, and the serpent.

• 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor
are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God
in heaven. KJV
