This document discusses settings and visual elements that are typical for indie/acoustic music videos. 4. • These are the typical settings for this specific genre of music (Indie/Acoustic Music) I am trying to convey.
• The open area allows a lot of movement for the camera to get different camera angles. The locations that
would be chosen matches the pace of the song.
• An example of this is a sunrise would connote a relaxing or happy song. Where as a Sad song would more
likely have rain in the video. I will be using my local town and city for other locations that the story will be
set in.
• Another good reason for using these types of settings is that you can use natural light to get natural
realistic shot.

6. • This is what you would typically find in a indie/acoustic Genre. I will try apply these conventions as much as
Possible so that the audience can tell what kind of music video they are watching.
• The images in the left hand corner shows the artists and bands in their typical look when performing their
music live and in a music video as you can see they are wearing casual clothing and either are holding a
acoustic guitar or nothing because the guitar is the instrument you are most likely to see in these type of
music videos.
• The images on the right hand side are things that associate with this particular genre, even though you ay
not see these conventions set it a music video, this is what usually relates to the band or artist. This can be
used for magazines or album covers.

8. • These are the typical things that you would find in a Indie/Acoustic music video.
• This is shown in the casual Clothing like the artist or band are not being recorded. Colours like blue would
be used a lot as it connotes Calm and Relaxation this then shows in the music.
• In the top left corner is the locations that associate with Acoustic music As you can see it is
mostly fields and forests which is very nature oriented
• The top right and bottom right show typical conventions of acoustic music, the artist in casual
clothes and with a guitar and the album covers are very inviting and calm with usually just the
artists name on the front.
