Operations Lieutenant / Lead Federal Officer (94-2013)
Oversee all aspects of operations of a federal penal institution and re-
lated Correctional Services Department while controlling operating
budgets of up to $800,000 and enforcing all rules and regulations rela-
tive to institutional security, inmate conduct, discipline and work, con-
trol of hazardous tools and material, safety, sanitation, control and use of
institution vehicles, and key control. Train, develop, schedule and super-
vise subordinate staff of up to 45 correctional officers with responsibil-
ity for monitoring their work performance interpretation of policy, and
resolution of problems concerning the inmate population. Take prompt
and decisive action to manage emergency situations, and authorize
changes in institutional operations when necessary.
In addition, implement post orders, expedite facility inspections, con-
duct training classes related to correctional procedures, investigate re-
ported violations of prohibited acts, and coordinate transporting of
both committed and U.S. Marshal's prisoners to and from institutions
and jails. Frequently serve as resident expert on all custodial and secu-
rity questions, and advise Warden and support staff of formulation and
implementation of institution policies, procedures and programs.

housing up to 1,200 convicted and immigration inmates (08-present);
Federal Detention Center (FDC) SeaTac, WA housing up to 1,300 pre-
trial and immigration inmates (97-08) – Also served as Hispanic
Emphasis Program Manager/EEO; Metropolitan Detention Center
(MDC) in Guaynabo, P.R. housing up to 1,200 pre-trial and immigration
inmates (95-97); Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) in New York,
N.Y. housing up to 1,000 inmates including such high profile organized
crime figures as John Gotti and Sammy the “Bull” Gravano (94-95) …
