The document summarizes the key findings of a study that analyzed the representation of men in South African media. Some of the main findings include:
1) Men make up 74% of sources quoted in media, which is an improvement from previous studies but still demonstrates inequality.
2) Men occupy a greater diversity of roles than women and are most commonly shown in sports and dominating political/business spheres.
3) Representation of men is often absent or limited in domestic/social spheres and criminal stories lack analysis, contributing to stereotypes.
4) Overall representation of men is assessed as positive, with men portrayed as active and achieving, though some stories presented clearly negative stereotypes.
The Role of Youths in Electoral Processes: An Appraisal of the Nigerian 2015 ...inventionjournals
Youths represent a significant proportion of the Nigerian Population, but in spite of this, their level of political participation and representation in the electoral process in the past has been very poor and often times undermined; being largely noticed at the level of electoral malpractices, voting irregularities and covert or overtthuggery in support of political office seekers who paradoxically have dominated the political arena to the point of total exclusion of the youths, yet all groups (youths inclusive) seek to influence dispensation of power. The research therefore sets out to analytically x-ray the issues and challenges that confronted youths in previous general elections viz a viz the tremendous effort made by youths in making the 2015 general elections a success, by particularly the use of social media as a propaganda machine and the dogged attitude displayed in the course of retrieving permanent voters card which is unparrarelled and unprecedented. The research implores the use of vivid descriptive scenarios to make sound and logical arguments on the plight and strive of youth in forestalling equity and fair play in our electoral process and also on the strides recorded thereof. Using variables such as lack of proper electoral education and sensitization in the past, religious, regional and sectional divide, poverty, deprivation, thuggery, social media, permanent voters card and so forth, the researchers conclude that youths have in the past been largely responsible for scuttling elections but were however instrumental to the success of the 2015 general elections. It therefore recommends amongst other things that, it is imperative to develop and enhance the capability of youths in the electoral process by creating a robust orientation programme and also engaging them to become financially and morally equip, so as to drastically reduce if not totally eradicate arm-twisting or manipulation of youths in the society.

“Combat and rape, the public and private forms of organized social violence, are primarily experiences of adolescent and early adult life. The United States Army enlists young men at seventeen; the average age of the Vietnam combat soldier was nineteen. In many other countries boys are conscripted for military service while barely in their teens. Similarly, the period of highest risk for rape is in late adolescence. Half of all victims are aged twenty or younger at the time they are raped; three-quarters are between the ages of thirteen and twenty-six. The period of greatest psychological vulnerability is also in reality the period of greatest traumatic exposure, for both young men and young women. Rape and combat might thus be considered complementary social rites of initiation into the coercive violence at the foundation of adult society. They are the paradigmatic forms of trauma for women and men.”

Programs focused on promoting gender equity and combating detrimental gender norms play a key role in HIV prevention. This case study (one of nine in a series) documents how the PRASIT program in Cambodia targets entertainment workers, their mainly middle class and male clients, and males who have sex with males using strategic behavior communication. Although the programs vary in their approaches, strategies employed by PRASIT have focused on community outreach, mass media campaigns, and peer education.

The Problems Associated with Political Campaign Persuasion through Propaganda...ijtsrd
The research article is based on the problems that are related to psychological facts in political campaigns. It explained the problems and challenges with the political campaign due to the psychological effect on the national election. National elections are not based on democratic principles as some different factors and variables could put influence on the choice of voters and due to which selection of a candidate might not according to the choice of an individual. It could also have to face different kinds of problems that are related to political campaigns. It is psychological fact that voters expect from the political bodies to give better performance and also select the leader according to the abilities but some factors influence their willingness and it could result in different problems therefore propagandas of political campaigns are also considered important to in political campaigns. Crime Analytics: Analysis of crimes through news paper articlesChamath Sajeewa
Crime analysis is one of the most important
activities of the majority of the intelligent and law enforcement
organizations all over the world. Generally they collect domestic
and foreign crime related data (intelligence) to prevent future
attacks and utilize a limited number of law enforcement
resources in an optimum manner. A major challenge faced by
most of the law enforcement and intelligence organizations is
efficiently and accurately analyzing the growing volumes of crime
related data. The vast geographical diversity and the complexity
of crime patterns have made the analyzing and recording of
crime data more difficult. Data mining is a powerful tool that can
be used effectively for analyzing large databases and deriving
important analytical results. This paper presents an intelligent
crime analysis system which is designed to overcome the above
mentioned problems. The proposed system is a web-based system
which comprises of crime analysis techniques such as hotspot
detection, crime comparison and crime pattern visualization. The
proposed system consists of a rich and simplified environment
that can be used effectively for processes of crime analysis.
Ending violence against girls and women cristinagss
Domestic violence, sexual violence against women and human trafficking are the three most pervasive problems women rights activists from the Good Shepherd Sisters Congregation encounter in the 72 nations in which they operate. To better understand how women fall prey to this cycle of violence and abuse the New York-based NGO, Good Shepherd International Justice Peace Office (GSIJP) undertook a globe-spanning survey to determine who’s most at risk and how this pattern can be broken. Here are the results.

MEDIA PORTRAYAL OF WOMEN IN GOVERNANCE: WHAT HAS CHANGED?AJHSSR Journal
ABSTRACT: The Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW)
which is now ratified by the majority of the world's governments; despite this, women’s representation in
governance remains abysmally poor. The media have persistently portrayed women in a low status like sex
objects, wives, mothers, caregivers, victims and dependants, unlike men who are portrayed as professionals and
independent leaders. Again, as men largely control means of communication and women do not have equal
representation in the media, these stereotypes have shaped the minds of media consumers negatively about
female gender roles in the society and have potentially excluded women from full participation in public life.
Taking this into account, this study in search of the causes contends that the poor portrayal of women in
governance and positions of authority remain the critical components of low political participation of women in
governance. The participants were drawn from a multi-layered cluster of educated women across three cities in
Anambra State spread across the three senatorial districts whose ages ranged from 26 to 57 years with a mean
age of 38-50yrs. In the design, we used qualitative design which employed the uses of in-depth interview to
elicit the opinion of the 19 participants on women’s participation in governance while we used thematic analysis
to analyze qualitative data. In the result patriarchal system, funding, domestic engagements emerged as the
leading constraints which have affected media portrayal of women in governance. Also, discrimination,
marginalization, low education and low levels of awareness emerged as themes when the participants were
asked about the factors which increase the likelihood of unfavorable media portrayal of women in governance.
Considering the consequences, the study recommends a conscientious gender mainstreaming as well as
proactive legislation to deepen gender affirmation and inclusiveness in governance.

This paper will be about media capitalism in US and the role it plays on what we the people view and discuss about our country. I have never seen so many different events play out in the media and depending on what channel you’re watching your own views might change. I can no longer watch Fox news due to the lack of trust on the reporting and also the disrespect that has been shown our current President of the United States Barack Obama. Throughout the paper I will be able to touch on various details that the media has altered due to the effect of capitalism. The reason why I chose this topic is because this is becoming the dominate source of information for the world to view and it is one of the key areas that act as a backbone of the country. Most people depend on the media to be updated with current event and what is happening everyday life through the country. Therefore when they are given out the wrong information, its effecting society which might include: unwanted fights, misunderstandings and other problems stemming from the media.
The hot topic of the media’s influence starts discussions in all different areas of public and private life. This issue grows over time in importance with new rating systems for TV, videogames, and music, questions surrounding Sandy Hook and other school shootings, and there wasn’t much of a surprise for public opinion regarding the war on Iraq. In dealing with news media, we know from pass experience that viewers are already hesitant of the information that they are receiving. Mostmembersofsocietyandculturesee these problems as not what they are going through so the remove reality from themselves and challenges for them to meet. There is always the possibility that these problems, that threaten to reverse everything that culture has accomplished, are needed for the culture itself. One of most dominant problems faced is who is responsible for what is being reported through media outlets. We are moving towards a society ruled by social media outlets and then there are other sources like TMZ that used not so honest ways of getting the scoop. I watched a man be sentence to several punishments for the same crime. Ray Rice had a shocking elevator video where he and his at that time fiancée have a fight where it is clear he punched her. Now this leaked months after it happened and he was already suspended. Now let me be clear I am not a fan of domestic violence. I just wanted to explore a well-publicized example of the misuse of the media. This man lost his job for something that happened off the field and his girlfriend went on to become his wife. If she was willing to forgive him then it was not the NFL place to suspend and block him from playing again.
Another problem that developed itself in the way the Consumer values the information ...

Do you feel the assessment was an appropriate tool If so, why, an.docxelinoraudley582231
Do you feel the assessment was an appropriate tool? If so, why, and how could it be beneficial? If not, what were the drawbacks of the assessments?
The Female Sexual Function Index comes out as an assessment tool which mainly focuses on women, therefore, accomplishing its intended purpose. Each of the 19 items tested by the series of questions in the questionnaire touches on the sexual experiences of women prior to, during, or before sexual intercourse making it an appropriate tool to measure the sexual functioning of women. This tool is beneficial for clinical diagnosis of female sexual dysfunction and can be used to identify signs and symptoms of female orgasmic disorder (FOD) and hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) in women (Metson, 2003).
How? The series of questions focuses on six domains which are; desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, satisfaction, and pain. Each of the questions is classified under either domain mainly focusing on the female experiences over time. For example, when it comes to desire, there are two questions which ask about the frequency of sexual desire in the past one month as well as the degree of sexual desire over the same time period. Thus, we can argue that each of the domains has been intensively investigated to come up with the most viable result to be used for the relevant clinical purposes. Besides this, the assessment tool is reliable and relevant since it can be used to indicate different variables in each of the tested domains. The different responses for every question have been assigned different scores which are consistent with the kind of feedback which is to be expected.

According to the CDC the HIV/AIDS reports, African-Americans are disproportionately affected by HIV/AIDS and disparity continues to widen. African Americans represent approximately 12% of the U.S. population, but they account for approximately 43% of HIV diagnoses. The African-Americans who die of HIV/Aids represents 44% of the deaths in the U.S. The worst hit category are the black women, the youths, gays and bisexual men. Dr. Donna Hubbard McCree (2013) notes that HIV/AIDS epidemics among the blacks results from factors including poverty, lack of awareness of HIV status, stigma that prevent the majority from seeking help, high rate of sexually transmitted infection, sexual networks, lack of access to adequate health care and lack sexual education among the most affected population.
Even though recent reports demonstrate encouraging trends of reducing HIV infections among the black population, new diagnoses still occur among the black gay and bisexual men. Therefore, even with continued intervention, disproportionate trends continue among the black population continue to be re.
