OVER VIEW
The modernization of music magazine
have been happening for a couple of
years now some for worst and others for
better. In my opinion i think that the
modernization of magazines will be the
death of the magazine industry but it will
also be the birth of other sources of
information through E-magazines and for
this information to be accessed online.
When the industry first started in 1731
The first ever magazine that was
distributed was called “The gentleman's
magazine”. The magazine was founded
in London, England, by Edward Cave in
January 1731. It ran uninterrupted for
almost 200 years, until 1922. Because
of this idea the idea of magazine the
whole area has grown over the years to
create a substantial amount and at one
point and still is one of the main
sources of media.
WHY I BELIEVE THE MAGAZINE IS
DYING
The magazine industry is slowly decaying
and there only seems to be room for
niche market magazines now, most if
not all mainstream magazines are still
based towards certain markets for
example the music magazine kerang is
one of the biggest music magazines out
there at the minuet.
Another reason to why magazines are dead
in my opinion is that all of the information
that would be in a magazine would be able
to get it free over the internet where as if
you would have to buy a magazine to get
the same information. In some cases this
information can be a magazine exclusive
but if you where to wait a day the
information will be on the internet, so in
my opinion there would be no other reason
to buy a magazine.
Another thing to talk about is the prices, on
average you would be paying for £3.50 for a
child's magazine. In some cases this would be
ok the fact that they would be reading a
magazine and learning from this would be
good, but for an adult not so much. On
average an adults magazine would cost around
£4-5-6 to get information that they would be
able to get on line for free and quickly reading
from a book or a magazine is not as important
to an adult because they will have grown up
from it. And I also understand that it would
not be portable in some cases for a magazine
that is on a computer only because its more
socially expectable to read from a magazine in
public than on a computer
but this is where modernisation comes into
play, With the modernization of
technologies advancing the way we see the
world it would be logical that certain parts
of our modern life to fade away for
example paper magazines with the
invention of tablets you will be able to read
e-magazines and e-books on them. With
ease and not having to worry about the
wind and how it will blow the pages about
and make it harder to read.
