Artificial intelligence in the post-deep learning era
Mobility101
1. Mobility 101: Ignore at your own RISK
Me too Most of the time the enterprise develops an app as its competitor has
released one. It results in unnecessary overhead and most of the time half
cooked applications.
Replacement for web Mobile applications are never a replacement for web applications. So its
necessary to determine which functions should be mobile enabled rather
than replication of web.
Information generation Never use mobile application for a lot of information collection and
generation. It’s a channel for consumption of information and should be
treated like one.
User Inputs Keep user inputs to basic minimum. If its too much you might lose the user
permanently.
Graphics Vs. Usability Focus on ease of use and usability rather than jazzy graphics and rich
multimedia. Multimedia not only slows how the download, it consumes the
bandwidth too.
People will ignore Come out of the tendency to ignore the audience intelligence. The end user
fraternity of mobile devices are very current with features and aberrations.
Technology Vs. Business Give priority to business use of the application. Focus on the business value
rather than the technical excellence. A wonderful app is as good as the
number of user adopting it. First find out a business value for the application.
Platform Target your audience and target the platform of choice. Its debatable
however. If it’s a mass market application, better to release a candidate for
popular platform than targeting the platform favored by premier customers.
