MISSIONS
• During testing and operation, the system has been
successfully operated on the following spacecraft
• Skynet 5A
• Skynet 5C
• Skynet 4E
• XTAR-EUR
• XTAR-LANT
• Data rates from the aircraft to the ground terminal up
to +20 Mbps have been demonstrated on each satellite
• Data rates of 2Mbps from the ground terminal to the
aircraft have been demonstrated on each satellite
• Use of star network to support multiple air frames in
one network
• Use of FlexACM on Newtec EL470 modems
provides, on average a 30-50% increase in usable data
rate by converting extra link margin to usable data
rate
• The system is currently operational, supporting
multiple aircraft
