ACM has announced its 2021-
2022 ‘Artist of the Year’program.
Selected participants shall be assisted
with implementation of their creative
initiatives and gain free access to “Red
Ger Creative Art Space”. ACM shall
collaborate on promotion of the artists
through its social platforms and increase
awareness amongst public and casual
interests.
The call is open for all the artists,
who has been actively creating at
least for the last three years and
who has a creative project to implement
this year. Through the collaboration with
ACM the selected artists shall be a part of
arts and culture events organized by ACM
and expand the circle of their potential
collaborators and partners.
This year ACM is inviting repre­

tatives with the following backgrounds.
Media art expressions /video, media
artists/
Art historians and critics /journalists,
art historians, critics and bloggers/
Music expressions /modern, classical,
traditional and contemporary/
Heritage bearers of traditional music
expressions /singers, dancers, musicians/
Visual art expressions / visual, artists,
graphic designers, fashion designers /

Arts Council of Mongolia in
collaboration with Mongolian Ballet
Program and Corporate Convention Centre
is organizing the 2nd “Motion Mongolia”
International Contemporary Dance
Festival in Ulaanbaatar under a theme
“The Rhythm of City” between April 27 –
May 2, 2021.
What creates the rhythm of city? The
history, memories, development, communi­
cation, social values all add colors to this
rhythm, therefore it always evolves, changes,
screams, pulls, pushes and suddenly stops.
Just like a dance… Let’s create the current
rhythm of our city through the movements of
dance.
The festival’s goal is to support develop­
ment of contemporary dance in Mongolia, to
build capacity of local professionals and to
expand international collaboration through
the following objectives.
-To address current issues in the society
and increase public awareness through the
arts and contemporary dance expressions in
particular.
-To support local and international
collabo­
rations and to present a joint per­
formance
-To promote current tendencies of contem­
porary dance development of Mongolia and
beyond
-To build capacity of local dance pro­
fessionals
-To increase public and community edu­
cation on contemporary dance expressions
and development
“2nd Motion Mongolia International
Contemporary Dance Festival” under a
theme “The Rhythm of City” consists of the
following five major programs:
•Opening of the festival
•Dance competition for Mongolian dan­
cers
•International dance program
•Master classes
•Dance movie showcases
Opening performance –ACM will present
a new production ‘Uran Khas’ to open the
festival. If the emergency regulations allow
the opening performance shall be presented
at the Corporate Convention Centre (CCC).
However, if the current restrictions and social
distancing regulations remain the opening
performance shall be recorded and presented
for the public online through the Festival’s
social platforms.
Dance Competition – Only Mongolian
dancers and choreographers are eligible to
participate in the competition and they should
submit performances online. The Festival
jury shall select “Best Choreographer”, “Best
Male Dancer” and “Best Female Dancer”.
The winners shall receive Festival trophy and
monetary prizes. If government regulations
will allow physical performances of the
winners shall be presented on the Corporate
Convention Center stage.
International Dance Program – Festival
shall announce an open call for International
dance troupes under a theme “The Rhythm of
City”. Participating performances shall be pre­
sented to the audiences through the Festival’s
social platform. Virtual performances shall be
evaluated by the number of Likes from the
audiences. Performance with the most Likes
shall receive “Audience award” trophy of the
Festival.
Master classes – Master classes for pro­
fessionals and amateur interests and students
shall be organized online. Festival is going
to invite well known choreographers as Joe
Alegado, Akram Khan and German choreo­
grapher to facilitate workshops.
Dance movie showcase – Festival orga­
nizers in collaboration with Goethe-Institut,
the American Film Showcase program of the
U.S.Embassyshallpresent“Moviescreening”
either online or at the Schools of Culture and
Arts University and the Conservatorium of
Mongolia during the Festival dates depending
on the government regulations.

launched in 2018 with the aim
to support Mongolian artists by
promoting artistic competitiveness
and creative collaborations both
locally and internationally. In the
past through its activities ACM has
supported and built capacities of
373 emerging talented artists, and
reached an audience of 4,966,610 by
statistic of 2017.
Creative Space’s website www.

artwork from talented local artists
with affordable price. In the time of
COVID-19 pandemic, “Red Ger”
Creative Space is expanding its
collaboration with Ard online shop,
initiating "Art at Home" project
to support emerging artists. “Art
at Home” project aims to sell and
promote artists' work through www.
redger.org/shop and www.ardshop.
mn/brand/redger. Costumers could
use these online platforms to purchase
Mongolian artist’s arts and crafts with
affordable price. Purchased artworks
will be delivered to the consumer’s
hand-to-hand with support of
Mongolian Post Company.
