“SHINING HORSES” AWARD WINNERS HAVE
SELECTED.
ACM is organizing the “Shining Horses” Fellowship
Award for the fourth year. Fellowship Award is designed to
contribute into the development of Mongolian art and culture
sector through providing funding support for professional
development of emerging artists. This year 24 project
proposals were received and Selection Committee voted for
two projects. A total grant of MNT 5,000,000 was divided
between “100 days & 100 artists” documentary portrait
project by Munkhjargal.J and an art researcher Solongo.Ts’s
digital archiving of socialist-era “Fine Art” magazine. Young
artist Munkhjargal.J received a degree in Mongol Zurag
Painting from the School of Fine arts at MSUAC and he is
progressing in photography and contemporary visual arts.
His “100 days & 100 artists” documentary portrait project is
aiming to promote true life stories of freelance artists through
the art of photography. Skilled art researcher Solongo.Ts is
known by her leather art, painting, calligraphy and public art
installations. She holds an MA degree in culture research &
social studies from School of Culture MSUAC. “Research of
“Fine Art” Quarterly Magazine” project initiated by Solongo.
Ts is designed to promote “Fine Art” magazine, historical
evidence which were published for 20 years since 1970. Her
research shall be made available for casual and professional
interests. ACM would like to wish the best of luck to both of
the winners.

MOTION MONGOLIA INTERNATIONAL CONTEMPORARY
DANCE FESTIVAL IS COMING SOON.
ACM in collaboration with the Mongolian Ballet Program
is going to organize the second Motion Mongolia
International Contemporary Dance Festival under the
theme of “The Rhythm of City”. The festival aims to
contribute to the development of modern dance, to build
capacity of professional dancers and expand international
partnerships of the sector. The festival will be held online
through the official festival facebook page www.facebook.
com/motionmongolia, during April 26 to May 2, 2021.
This year’s Motion Mongolia International Contemporary
Dance Festival consists of five main parts: the opening performance, an international dance program, a competition for
Mongolian dancers, master classes and dance film showcase. The opening performance shall be “The Rhythm of City”
contemporary ballet’s virtual version. Opening is on April 26, 2021. This ballet was organized by the Mongolian Ballet
Program and choreographed by Damchaabadgar Yo., who is rehearsal director and choreographer of Suld Ensemble of
Mongolian Police. Artists from Croatia, United States of America, Canada, Poland, South Korea, Austria and Mongolia
will take part in the international dance program. As part of the program, the world premiere of “Meeting Hands” dance
by Korean contemporary dance group Libre Joven and Mongolian artists will be presented live on April 28, 2021. Also
AmericanchoreographersJoeAllegadoandRichardSiegal,choreographerYenChingLinfromtheBritishdancecompany
Akram Khan and Mongolian artists will organize online master classes, duringApril 29 to May 1, 2021. In addition, Dance

SECOND EDITION OF “ACCESS TO SUCCESS” ONLINE
TRANING HAS STARTED.
ACM is organizing the second round of “Access to Success”
online training series for freelance artists. These series aim to
support freelance artists by improving their competitiveness. And
the training shall be organized online. “Access to Success” shall
deliver the following six topics.
- “Who am I?” – Practical tips for developing and creating up-to

“RED GER DAY” IS HELD EVERY THURSDAY.
The “Red Ger” creative space of the Arts Council of
Mongolia (ACM) initiates a variety of creative activities
aimed to promote artists’ exhibitions, to increase
competitiveness and fostering creative collaboration.
In 2021, a series of “Red Ger Day” creative activities
will be initiated and will organize multi-faceted
events promoting culture and art to the public.
Red Ger Day takes place every Thursday at 4:00
pm. It hosts a series of creative events including art
and culture lectures, meetings with artists, training,
film screenings, book and poetry readings, and art
therapy. Events will be organized online and physically.
