2. ■ The task was: to make a promotional video for the college, we approached it in a
different way, we made a parody of MLG videos using clips we filmed in the college.
Our ideas were to just add something unique to each clip that we did, in the end a clip
of Josh doing a bottle flip we added an explosion animation at the end to add some
sort of comedic effect. Roles: Patch Carter – Editor, Josh Sotherton – assistant editor,
James (me) – filmed all the clips, Dan Parkes – helped me film, gave the group the
majority of the clip ideas.
3. We filmed our clips over a few day period, we filmed on an iPhone but we still tried to use
as many different shots as possible, shots looking down and shots from the torso
upwards. Everything went to plan for us, we kept on top of our schedule and
compromised if anything (small) did go wrong.
4. ■ Patch did the majority of the editing but we all learned something new from him, we
learned how to put clips together and to make it look aesthetically pleasing. And he
used a lot of mp3 files for the background noise. Josh provided us with some ideas for
the video and guided patch on improving the video all together.
5. ■ Our video is very close to what we originally wanted, we took inspiration from other
‘MLG’ videos because that is what separates our video from the rest, it’s stupid but it
still advertises the college.
