The document discusses locations and characters for a film title sequence about a stalker. It proposes five locations: 1) the victim's house gate, 2) the street where the victim lives near a bridge, 3) the bridge key to the story, 4) a train station to show how far the stalker has followed, and 5) the stalker's dark planning room. It also chooses actors for the lead victim, stalker antagonist, and news reader, and lists props to portray everyday life and the stalker's activities.

An introduction to film/cinema as narrative for a 7th grade ELA class using "Citizen Kane" as our text. Lots about artistic intentionality, identity, and thinking of theme.
I revise this every year and there are many ideas for add-ons. Happy to share but also curious about feedback ideas.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
2. Location 1:
The first location seen in the film title sequence will be a gate to a house. This will be where the
protagonist/victim resides. We have chosen this as a location as it is within close proximity of
one of the main locations (a bridge) that will be used in the sequence. This is useful for our
group as one of the shots will be of the victim walking towards the bridge and will be able to
walk quickly to the bridge from the address we have chosen to be the victim’s home. Another
reason we have chosen to use this location is to give contextual information to the audience.
The audience will be able to work out that the shot is being seen from a stalker’s point of view,
not just a regular person and use it as an analepsis for the audience. They will be able to work
this on as the title sequence continues and the shot of the house will work as an for the viewers
as they will realise why the victim is being watched from their house.
3. Location 2:
Our second location will be a street. This will be the street that the resident lives on and
also the street that leads to one of the key locations in the sequence and film. We have
chosen to put this location into the title sequence so that we can present the audience with
the journey of the victim to help them to understand what is going on, and also to resemble
the fact that the character is being followed. The street is a relatively short distance from the
bridge, therefore, it is ideal as it will not be taking up too much of the time in the sequence.
4. Location 3:
Location 3 is a bridge - one of the key
locations that will be used in our title
sequence and is also a key location to
the storyline for the film. We have
decided to use this location as it is
surrounded by a canal and woodland
and we believe that this adds to the
eerie and dour atmosphere that we are
aiming to achieve for the sequence. The
bridge is also in a quiet area and looks
desolate and this will help to heighten
the tension of the scene and reinforce
the idea that protagonist is in danger as
no on is around to help her. Another
reason we have chosen this bridge is
due to the fact that it looks modern, this
will fit in with the contemporary feel that
we are hoping to portray.
5. Location 4:
This will be a train station. We have chosen this as a location as we decided that it will
show how far the protagonist has been followed. The actor will be seen walking to and into
the train station. This will show that she is on her way somewhere, perhaps on her way to
work. We have decided to use Wapping Overground station as it is local and links to the
location that the antagonist has been stalking in.
6. Location 5:
Location 5 will be a dark room. This will be the room that the antagonist makes all of their plans
in and has information about his victims. The room will be filled with polaroid images of the
victims, scattered out over a table. There will also be a map of London, which will have
thumbtacks pinned into it, tracking the antagonist's latest victim (seen in the title sequence).
We have decided to use this in our title sequence as it will give the audience an insight into the
life of the stalker, and will also answer questions for the audience, as some may not fully
understand what has been going on previously, but this will allow them to see tat the
protagonist is being watched and followed. However, it still leaves an enigma code as we do
not see the antagonists face and the audience are not sure as to why the stalker has chosen
this specific victim or what their intentions are.
7. Name: Yasmine Sylla
Role: Lead/Protagonsist
We have decided to use Yasmine as our
protagonist for several reasons. One reason is
to challenge current crime – thriller films. After
watching and analysing title sequences, we
realised that black females are rarely shown as
protagonists or given lead roles. Therefore, we
have decided to make our protagonist a black
female to celebrate diversity and an equal and
fair representation of all races. Another reason
we have chosen Yasmine is because she has
a very confident character, meaning she will be
able to act without feeling shy or
uncomfortable. Finally, we wanted our
protagonist to appear as a strong and
independent female, and we believe that
Yasmine will be able to portray this.
8. Name: Tyler Wynne
Role: Antagonist – stalker.
We have chosen Tyler to be our
protagonist as we wanted it to be a
male. He is tall and, therefore, this
may cause the audience to find him
more dangerous and be fearful for
the protagonist, who is smaller and
weaker. We also wanted a male to
represent two different social groups
in different ways, men as the villain
and a women as the victim.
9. Name: Oliwia Bienkowska
Role: News reader.
We chose Oliwia to be our news reader as she has a
clear voice and an understandable accent that would
be recognised by the majority of people. As most
readers have an RP accent, we decided that it would
be best for our reader to also have a RP accent, as
Oliwia is from London she has one.
10. We are going to use an extensive list of props so we
