o Fossil fuels are used to meet the energy demand in transportation(for Traditional IC engine). But
fossil fuels are harmful to the environment due to greenhouse gas emissions. They are also
exhaustible.
o So In recent years, electric vehicles (EVs) have received much attention as an alternative to
traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
o The inadequacy in the batteries and the lack of charging stations require these vehicles to
be used within certain distances.
o One of the ways to increase the distance is the regenerative braking of brushless direct current
(BLDC) motors, which makes it re-usable when the vehicle is braking.
o Here We are going to enhance the Regenerative braking using brushless DC Motor in EVs, it is the
process of feeding energy from the drive motor back into the battery during the braking process,
when the vehicle's inertia forces the motor into generator mode.
OBJECTIVES

• Regenerative braking can improve energy usage efficiency and can prolong the
driving distance of electric vehicles (EVs).
• The objective of this project is to design a concept, which will distribute the
braking force. In this project different techniques are used, such as equal
distribution braking force by fuzzy logic control.
• The Project presents a controller for this EV motor driver with increased
efficiency by combining various strategies.

Suggest a redefined solution to increase the driving range of Electric
vehicles due to the inadequacy in the batteries and the lack of charging
stations.

NOVELTY OF THE WORK
 Regenerative braking is an established technique that can improve the driving
range of vehicles with full-electric or hybrid /hybridized powertrain, thus
promoting their large-scale adoption.
 The performance of the system is first tested as a simulation and then applied to
hardware.

EXPECTED OUTCOME
o This project presents the simulation results by analysing the battery state of
charge, braking force, and dc bus current under the environment of MATLAB and
Simulink.
o The simulation results show that the fuzzy logic can realize the regenerative
braking and can prolong the driving distance of EVs under the condition of
ensuring braking quality.
o The performance of the system is first tested as a simulation and then applied to
hardware.

  • 2. INTRODUCTION 20-04-2023 MINIPROJECT II 2 o Fossil fuels are used to meet the energy demand in transportation(for Traditional IC engine). But fossil fuels are harmful to the environment due to greenhouse gas emissions. They are also exhaustible. o So In recent years, electric vehicles (EVs) have received much attention as an alternative to traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. o The inadequacy in the batteries and the lack of charging stations require these vehicles to be used within certain distances. o One of the ways to increase the distance is the regenerative braking of brushless direct current (BLDC) motors, which makes it re-usable when the vehicle is braking. o Here We are going to enhance the Regenerative braking using brushless DC Motor in EVs, it is the process of feeding energy from the drive motor back into the battery during the braking process, when the vehicle's inertia forces the motor into generator mode.

OBJECTIVES 20-04-2023 MINIPROJECT II 3 • Regenerative braking can improve energy usage efficiency and can prolong the driving distance of electric vehicles (EVs). • The objective of this project is to design a concept, which will distribute the braking force. In this project different techniques are used, such as equal distribution braking force by fuzzy logic control. • The Project presents a controller for this EV motor driver with increased efficiency by combining various strategies.

NOVELTY OF THE WORK  Regenerative braking is an established technique that can improve the driving range of vehicles with full-electric or hybrid /hybridized powertrain, thus promoting their large-scale adoption.  The performance of the system is first tested as a simulation and then applied to hardware. 20-04-2023 MINIPROJECT II 6

EXPECTED OUTCOME o This project presents the simulation results by analysing the battery state of charge, braking force, and dc bus current under the environment of MATLAB and Simulink. o The simulation results show that the fuzzy logic can realize the regenerative braking and can prolong the driving distance of EVs under the condition of ensuring braking quality. o The performance of the system is first tested as a simulation and then applied to hardware. 20-04-2023 MINIPROJECT II 7
