Summary Biography: Mike Solomon
Mike Solomon is a proven business transformation
executive with an outstanding record of
achievements leading national and global
organizations of varying businesses to profitable
growth in hardware, software, solutions and
services. Mr. Solomon’s reputation is for his
turnaround expertise.
Mr. Solomon is asked to take leadership roles
within varying businesses because of his ability to
effectively improve business performance.
Especially adept at collaborating across lines of
business and in matrix environments, his approach
is consistent and proven in results.
His primary interest is in sales growth,
effectiveness and productivity. He has spent the
majority of his career in sales management
positions and running global program offices
driving improvement in process, people and
performance.
Currently, Mr. Solomon serves as Vice President of
Oracle’s Support Services business where he leads
initiatives focused on service revenue growth.
Under his leadership, the rate at which service is
attached to hardware orders is now at an all time
company high.
He also spent twenty six years with NCR
Corporation including Vice President Sales for its
$300M America’s printer consumables business.
Under his leadership, the business profitably grew
14% in a 12% per year declining market, and in a
business of previously declining revenue.
Also while at NCR, Mr. Solomon transformed a
$600M global sales and marketing organization
from one of low performance and poor morale, ad-
hoc selling practices and margin erosion to one of
a high performing, energetic, growth oriented and
profitable sales organization.
His tenure includes Executive Assistant to the
Chairman and CEO, Vice President of Business
Reengineering, Vice President Worldwide
Professional Services, as well as other sales and
sales management leadership positions in which he
consistently showed remarkable leadership,
defined strategic direction, motivated teams and
inspired passion and trust.
A native of New Jersey, he graduated from The
Ohio State University where he received his
degree in industrial/organizational psychology and
later from Rutgers University where he received
his Masters in Business Administration.
Mr. Solomon is active in the community with a
focus on assisting individuals with special needs. A
previous board member of TEAMS@Work, he is
also on the advisory and fundraising committees for
enAble of Georgia.
He enjoys golf, tennis and bike riding.
Mr. Solomon lives in Atlanta and is married with
three daughters.
