3. What is it?
Mobile learning - problems…
Where does learning take place?
In your brain and your body…
your body is very mobile…
so Mobile learning is a label people accept ONLY
BECAUSE they have been glued against their will
to tables and classrooms by formal educational
settings FIRST
and THEN voluntarily because of networked desktop-
computers

4. What is it?
now everyone is happy that there is the
PROMISE to be mobile again while learning
WHICH is the NATURAL STATE of learning anyway
but still… networked media has enormous promise
to be integrated into our learning processes
let‘s define mobile learning
learning with networked sub-netbook devices

5. What is it?
microlearning = small information snippets < 5 min time
2 associations come to my mind
- Fast Food
- Skinner and his programmed instruction
mobile = on the go, short „bursts“ of learning snippets
e.g. learn 5 words of Italian every day while commuting
BUT that‘s not the GAME CHANGING type of learning
associated with mobile learning

9. EduPunk or EduHackr?
I was thinking about the term „EduPunk“
I think that Punk and Education is
not going together in any way
To me EduPunk seems to origin
from William Gibsons „Neuromancer“
CyberPunks…
Punk rock: DIY, anti-establishment,
don‘t try to make money

10. EduPunk or EduHackr?
EduHackr: a person hacking his way
into information resources normally not
available to him, misusing technology
to support his own learning, rewiring
learning resources, create interesting
stuff by combining technology (see
MAKE magazine for „mainstream“
hacking culture) .
