1. 1. Technology and Me A personal timeline of educational technology
 2. 2. Overview

My name is James Sposato IV

I started schooling in 1993 at St. Philomena.

I graduated from Damien Memorial High School in 2007 in Kalihi.

I first went to college at UH Manoa in 2007.

When I finish my degree, I hope to become a band director at a high school and possibly one day receive a graduate degree in music performance.

 3. 3. My definition of educational technology … .is the use of electronic devices in a classroom to further the advancement of education for students to use in the near future.
 4. 4. Web sites on ed tech history

http://www.ehow.com/about_5544014_history-technology-classroom.html

http://www.educationworld.com/a_tech/archives/technology.shtml

http://www.ncrel.org/sdrs/areas/te0cont.html

 5. 5. Kindergarten technology

When I was in Kindergarten technology was very limited. All we had to use were televisions and VCRs.

 6. 6. High school technology

In high school, I had cell phones and mp3 players, but they were nowhere near as advance as they are now. Computers were becoming essential to do papers, but most classes didn’t require papers to be typed.

 7. 7. College technology

In college, I can’t do anything without my laptop now. Laptops used to be expensive, but now everyone has one. In my elementary education class we had a smart board that eliminated the use of poster boards in class.

 8. 8. A vivid technology learning experience

In 1996 Google.com began as a research project by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. It started out as a digital library project for Stanford University and is now the most widely used search engine.

 9. 9. A technology I want to use in my classroom

In my future classroom, I want to use electronic stands that display the music. This would eliminate the use of paper copies. Although it would cost a lot to start with, over time it would save the program a lot of money.

 10. 10. My vision of the classroom of the future

In the future, I would like to see a classroom where everyone has a computer in front of them. This would save money on printing paper out and would help the teacher in creating videos that can be transferred to each computer.

 11. 11. A challenge for teaching

A major challenge with using so much technology in a classroom is that not every student will come from a family that can afford this type of technology. Also, not every state funded school will have the funding to buy these technologies. Finally, technology isn’t for everyone. Some students might have more trouble trying to learn more and more technology.

 12. 12. Words of wisdom

Do not confine your children to your own learning, for they were born in another time.

Chinese Proverb
