Vin is assigned a social impact project at St. Peter's Prep. He researches microloans through Kiva and learns how small loans can help improve economies in places like Quito, Ecuador. Through this project, Vin begins to see how providing capital to local businesses could also help rebuild economies in struggling areas of the US. He and his teammates envision creating a microbank where Prep graduates could invest in entrepreneurs seeking to create sustainable local economies. Their goal is to model how social impact investing could help address economic issues at home.
