Michael Valentine has extensive experience researching HIV reservoirs. He received his Ph.D. in Immunology from Louisiana State University in 2015, studying under advisor Seth Pincus. His research focused on determining the distribution of HIV reservoirs in elite controller macaques, finding memory and naïve CD4 T-cells were infected at different rates depending on tissue. He also has experience working for the CDC on malaria diagnostics and quantification. His research interests include HIV reservoirs, T-cell memory phenotypes, immunogenicity, and antibody engineering.
